Chapter 24: Betrayal
“You did what!” Vrael shouted at his father as he had just learned of what he did. “How dare you make a pact with those insects!”
“It was a wise decision my son, if you had the wisdom I possess then you would understand why I made this choice.” Emperor Liner said from his throne in his citadel castle.
“You did not even think to ask me what I thought old man.” Vrael said evilly “We could have crushed them and now they will amass their forces! Thanks to you we will most likely lose our most valuable men!”
“Be silent!” Liner shouted as loud as he could. “Child you treat me like some fool when it is I who has led this kingdom to the very top with just my wit and wisdom!”
The emperor stood and walked over to his window. He looked out to his city. “One day boy, this will all be yours to keep and maintain, but unless you learn to control yourself and to understand the actions of your consequence I can never allow this to happen.”
“You have no choice, this city will be mine and I will break this pact.” Vrael snarled. Liner chuckled
“And how do you plan to accomplish that hmm?”
“By killing you.” He then stabbed the man through the back with his sword. The man’s smile fell and he looked down to the sword impaling through his body. The light left his eyes and Vrael drew the blade out. “You should never have underestimated me fool.” He called his guards in. “He was a liability, we will tell the citizens he died naturally. Burn the body.”
He left the room once he had given the soldiers their orders.
“I liked that rug too.” Vrael thought as he looked back and saw the blood stained rug. He went into the war room and called to one of his men. “Bring him in.”
“Yes sir!” The soldier saluted before running into another room. After a few moments, three hooded figures came into the room. The one in the middle came to Vrael first. He knelt before him.
“My liege,” He had a strong yet gentle voice “my lord sends you his apologies, his man could not kill the Skylar boy.”
“How could that be? He is but one boy!” Vrael shouted angrily, of course the man did not falter, he had no emotions.
“There was another, a man from our world. He came and helped the boy, if it were not for him the boy would have died.”
“Lower your hood.” Vrael ordered him, the man obliged, he slowly lowered his hood. His face was not normal, it was contorted and mutilated, but that was not the worse of it. His eyes shone black, Vrael knew that all this was a side effect of having your emotions taken from you by force. Vrael’s face contorted in disgust. “What does your master propose?”
“Meet one of our best men my liege.” The man said moving sideways, one of the hooded figure was leaning against the desk, looking rather bored also which was strange. The man noticed he was being introduced and walked on over.
“Howdy boss.” The man said arrogantly “Yeesh, assassinations, this is like fuckin’ kinder garden for Christ’s sake.
“Who? Who are you?” Vrael asked, he was extremely perturned, they didn’t normally act this way.
“We got an echo in here or somat? Coulda sworn you said “who” twice. Anyway’s name’s Ardent. Looks like I’m stuck with you for a while.”
“You’re the one who has to kill Skylar?”
“Yup that’s me.”
“Go, just go.” Vrael said, he was getting a major headache.”
Fine, fine. See ya later emotionless creeps.” He waved to the two who were standing very still.

“Rene, Rene!” Someone shouted as Rene started to come to. “C’mon man wake up!” something wet hit him in the face and he shot right up fully awake.
“Knew that’d work.” Abby said smiling.
“Guess so.” Filden joked
“Wh-Where am I?” Rene asked.
“Outside the castle, looks like you were dragged here or something. What happened man?”
“I was coming back from the… Where’s Kara and Lily!” Rene finally remembered everything
“Those two girls? They’re in the castle having some supper.” Filden told him, standing up properly “Julius said it was only right that they at least have some dinner seeing as they told us you were here, well not here more like waaaay over there in the market”
“I need to see them.”
“What’s so important about them?” Abby asked “I mean I’ll admit that the older one is quite hot but still, you’ve got Faith.”
Rene wanted to burst out laughing, he leant back and gazed at the stars.
“They’re my sisters.” Rene finally told them. Abby gasped and Filden’s eyes widened
“Sisters!? I thought your entire family was… y’know… dead.” Filden said surprised.
“Way to be blunt about it Fil!” Abby scolded Filden. “That’s amazing Rene! C’mon! Shall we go and meet them?”
“Aye, let’s get goin’ then.” Rene smiled.

“Heya Kammy, how are ya?” The hooded man said as he stepped out of the portal. He was quite tall and had a soft Scottish accent.
“Riku? That you?” Kamui asked as he spun round surprised.
“Aye it’s me.” The man named Riku confirmed, he lowered his hood and smiled at his old friend. He had long silver hair and green eyes. He had a smooth handsome face yet he seemed to radiate sorrow.
“I thought you couldn’t leave Gaia? That He had taken your abilities.” Kamui asked.
“Kamui, He is dead. The entire order the of Angels gone with him.”
“No! That is impossible! How?” Kamui seemed to be on the verge of a breakdown.
“His right hand man, slew him.”
“No! Gabriel would never…”
“He was controlled, we dunno by who, but he killed Him then he killed himself.” Riku sighed. “You’re the last one Kammy.” Kamui paced the room, muttering incoherently to himself.
“The boy, Rene. He was saved by someone hooded, was that you?”
“Aye, I was tracking down a dark soldier who was sent to kill him in hopes that I could find out who he was working for. Turns out I got there in time, a minute later yer kid woulda been dead.”
“Thank you, he is a very important child. He is the key.”
“No! No way! That kid is THE key?”
“Yeah, we gotta protect him till he’s ready, if we don’t, well let’s just say all hell is gonna break loose.” Riku turned round and looked at his dark portal.
“I have to go, ever since I saved Rene someone’s been tracking me. I’ll carry on trying to find out who did this, good luck Kammy.” He left through the portal.
“Good luck Riku.”

“Give up Vrael!” Rene shouted as wind tore at his skin going past him. His sword was in hand, blood drying slowly on it’s metal. Around him, Filden stood, shuriken in one hand and a kunai in the other, Faith was floating several metres in the air, hands glowing through continuous use and Abby was stood behind them all healing them as much as she could. The other were outside trying to get in but Vrael had made this last stand for them and only them.
“You cannot defeat me! I CANNOT BE DEFEATED!” Vrael screamed, he floated high into the air and spun around.
“No! Don’t do it Vrael!” Faith shouted in fear. Rene readied himself for the final battle.
“Hey Rene!” Filden shouted, he looked over. “No matter what happens I just wanna say. Being your friend was the best goddamn thing to ever happen to me!”
“Don’t talk like that Fil! We’ll get through this!”
“How many times have I got to damn well say it! Don’t call me Fil!” Filden shouted but smiled widely as he did.
“Strength of darkness! Harbinger of evil! TAKE YOUR SACRIFICE AND OPEN THE DOOR WITH THE KEY!” Vrael shouted, he summoned as much energy as he could and threw it into the looming portal.
Everything flashed.
Rene was holding onto Faith’s arm. Filden was gone, Abby was gone. Everyone, gone, but he would not let that happen to Faith!
“You won’t die!” Rene shouted at the crying figure of Faith. “I won’t let you! Not after everything we’ve been through!” Faith body started to be pulled backwards and Rene strengthened his grip, she slipped but he managed to catch her hand. Everything seemed to be in slow motion. A tear fell from Faith’s eyes.
“I love you, no matter what Rene Skylar.” Faith sobbed even more and Rene couldn’t hold back anymore.
“I will not let you go!” Rene screamed
“I love you.” Faith let go of his hand and fell backwards heading towards the powerful sucking portal.
“NOOO!” Rene screamed.

Rene woke, “What the fuck?” Rene said to himself as he shout out of bed covered in sweat and tears. He looked at the hand he had supposedly held Faith’s in as she let go and disappeared. He looked to his left and saw the sleeping figure of Faith beside him. He leant back down and turned over to look at Faith. He sighed, today had been such a day, meeting his sisters introducing them to everyone. Faith went mental with joy. Lily and Kara were just so amazingly happy, they couldn’t believe the were staying in a castle and finally had a sort of proper family.
Rene smiled at Faith’s sleeping face and stroked her cheek. She stirred slightly and held his hand to her face. With his free hand he brushed some hair out of her face and kissed her forehead.
“I’d never let anything happen to you, I love you no matter what.” She let her hand go and got out of bed. He checked his cell phone and noticed it was only 2am. He sighed and grabbed his sword and gun. He decided he’d go and train for a while the head back to bed. Rene made his way to the gardens chatting with a few of the guards who were on night patrol.
Once he reached the gardens he drew his sword and practiced with that for a while, he performed a few complex manoeuvres and practiced drawing and firing his gun in the middle of one. After about an hour he say down and decided to practice some magick. Even though Kamui had told him not to practice magick on his own Rene was never one to follow rules. He sat down comfortably and summoned as much energy as he could muster. He put his right hand out subconsciously and channelled a small amount of energy into it. Instead of a small spark he managed to create a ball or fire. Rene smiled at his small achievement and managed to extinguish it. He practiced with fire a bit more until he was confident in using it. He decided to try something else. He remembered Kamui saying something about Neo-elementals. Apparently they can control Fire, Ice, Earth, Air, Water, Dark, Light and Non-elemental magicks.
Rene put out his right hand again and imagined blinding light in his head, he manipulated his energy into his right hand and felt it grow warm. He opened his eyes and saw a bright white light in his hand. He smiled, he controlled the light, he moved it around the garden lighting up various places. The light disappeared. He fell in exhaustion and it took him several minutes to get his breath back.
After collecting up his stuff he decided to go back to him room. Before he did that though he went for a shower, in fear that Faith would wake up and most likely have a go at him for going out so late and becoming extremely sweaty and smelly. After his wash he put on some cleans clothes and went back to his room. The light was on so he already knew he was in trouble. He opened the door slowly.
“Okay Faith I can explain.” he said as he went in. he was surprised to see that Faith didn’t immediately pounce on him, she was sat at a desk smiling at Rene.
“Don’t worry. I heard you leave and decided to see what you were up to. I saw you practice magick. It was… amazing.” Faith smiled. She walked over to him and planted a soft kiss against his lips. Next time wake me up and I’ll come with, I haven’t used my powers for ages and I’m starting to get the feeling of too much energy.
Rene smirked, he kissed her back then lifted her up in one swift movement. “Maybe tomorrow. How abut we go to sleep. I’m knackered.” Faith giggled and rested her head against his chest.
“I love you.” Faith told him as he took off his weapons and got into the bed.
Rene turned to Faith and smiled as he took off his top, shoes and socks and chucked them to the ground “I love you too and I always will. Promise. ”

Chapter 25: Filden’s Birthday.
“Happy Birthday!” Everyone shouted as Filden opened his bedroom door. Filden fell over surprised. He quickly stood up embarrased
Rene, Faith, Abby, Kara and Lily all stood there in front of him screaming. Abby and Faith hugged him and gave him quick kisses on the cheek. Kara ran over to him and jumped onto his back happily. Lily smiled at him embarrassed. Everything seemed to be happening so fast for her. Luckily Kara was joining in greatly. Kamui stood against a wall unsmiling but nodded at Filden in greeting. Dawn was stood next to him grinning and holding a small present.
“Hey everyone. Thanks…” Fildens stomach grumbled. “Umm… food?”
Abby giggled.
“C’mon let’s go to the main hall. Julius and Zeria organised a huge ass party for you! Of course we couldn’t invite anyone from school. We’re here unofficially of course.”
“I know I know. Can we please get some grub? I’m starved!” Filden groaned

“Y’know, we still gotta go on that date Fil.” Abby whispered into his ear as they sat at the large table filled with food. Rene was talking with Julius and Faith was playing with Lily and Kara.
“Hey, how about we go out tomorrow night?” Filden asked her. “Julius gave me a bit of money as a prezzie”
“Yeah, sure, why not? Where ya gonna take me?”
“I saw this nice French restaurant down by the plaza a few days ago.
How about there?”
“Sounds like a plan!” Abby smiled and kissed him happily on the cheek, Filden immediately turned red, went even redder when she held his hand under the table. Filden noticed that Rene had gotten up and was coming towards them.
“Hey buddy! Here’s ya prezzie!” Rene smiled passing him a large package. Filden smiled and ripped open the packaging. In it was a large square flat box. Filden flipped it open. He gasped loudly and then shouted out a whoopee! Inside was a brand new large shuriken. Each of the four ends had a different kind of metal. “Oh my god Rene! Thank you so much!” Filden stood up and grabbed his best friend in a fierce hug. Rene grinned and patted Filden on the back
“Glad ya like it bro.” Rene smiled as Filden let go off him and lifted the large shuriken.
“Thank you so much man! Hey I wanna word with you…” Filden grinned directing Rene away from Abby.
“My sources tell me that Faith slept in your room last night.” He grinned nudging Rene in the ribs gently. “Anything happen?”

“Coooourse noooot.” Filden joked grinning. He felt someone slap him gently across the back of the head and turned to see Zeria grinning.
“Leave the poor boy alone Mr. Gurito.” Zeria grinned evilly. “His sex life is his own private business.”
“We didn’t have sex!” Rene said trying not to attract anymore attention. He glanced at Faith and caught her eyes. She smiled at him and Rene smiled back. God he was so in love with her.
“Sorry ma’am!” Filden said quickly noticing that he was standing in front of a queen.
“Please, just call me Zeria, Filden.” Zeria smiled before returning to sit next to Julius, Julius nodded at Filden, who now had a face like a slapped arse.
“I’m never gonna get used to this am I?” Filden groaned sitting down in a chair.
“Don’t worry about it, yeah I’ll admit, being allowed to call a king and queen by their first names are strange but I’m getting used to it.”
“Yeah yeah, I suppose.” Filden grinned. Kara had walked over to them with Lily. “Hey trouble.”
“Sh’up.” Kara told Filden smiling. “I’m 13 years old, I’m not a child.”
“Now now Kara, no need to be nasty to the birthday boy.” Lily smiled at the two 17 years olds.
“Why do I get the feeling something bad is a about to happen?” Filden asked uneasily. Faith, Abby and Dawn had also walked over, Filden saw Julius smiling and Zeria giggling madly.
“BIRTHDAY DIGS!!!” Rene shouted at the top of his voice. Everyone pounced on Fil and started punching him gently in random places 17 times.
“And one for good luck!” Kara shouted before punching him in the shoulder. Filden was left groaning, even though they hadn’t hurt he would still have a few bruises in the morning.
“3, 2, 1” Filden started counting down “REVERSAL DIGS!” He shouted before jumping up and chasing the closest person.

The rest of the evening went great, everyone was having a great time and Filden was getting pleasantly tipsy. Julius had set that they could have a bit of alcohol, except of course Kara.
Rene sat next to Filden singing loudly “Football’s comin’ home! It’s comin’ home! It’s comin’!”
“Anyone else fancy punching them some more?” Lily asked, clamping her ears shut at her brothers and his best friends horrible singing voices. Rene smiled and looked around for Faith. She wasn’t anywhere in the room. He noticed the door leading out onto a balcony was open and assumed she was there. He went outside and sure enough she was there. He snuck up behind her and hugged her from behind, he kissed her gently on the neck.
“Hey.” Faith said smiling at his touch.
“How come you’re out here?” Rene asked still holding onto her. Faith
turned in his hug and held him close to her.
“Felt like some air, thought I’d do a bit of flying too.” She said before using her powers to lift them off the ground slowly.
“Reminds me of superman, ‘cept you’re superman and I’m Lois Lane” He smiled at her and she giggled.
“Well, I always was the toughest when we had wrestling matches.” Faith joked. Rene gasped in mock horror.
“Only ‘cause I let you win!” Rene joked back.
“Course ya did.” Faith kissed him on the lips before he could say anything
“I’m starting to get a bit cold…”
“Leave that to me.” Rene told her, he summoned his energy and crated a small ring of fire surrounding them keeping them warm from the night.
“I love you…” Faith told him, resting her head against his chest
“I love you too.”
“You start training tomorrow right?”
“Yup. First thing in the morning. Sword training with Julius then some more magic with Kamui. Haven’t heard from Zeria so don’t know when I’m
continuing gun training.”
“Cool…” Faith said.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I’m just tired?”
“Do you wanna go to bed?” Rene asked her.
“Depends on what we do in it.” Faith said smiling at him and giggling.
“Why Ms. Crest! That an offer?” He laughed loudly, attracting the
attention of some people on the balcony they were on a few minutes ago.
“Maybe, let’s go to bed and find out.” Rene giggled and kissed Faith gently.
“Are you ready though?” Rene asked her concerned, even though they were both virgins Rene was quite a bit more confident than Faith at times.
“I think so… Yeah I think I am. Let’s go to bed Rene.”
“Oi! Love birds! Get down from there before someone decides to throw a rock at you… That someone being me!” Filden shouted from the balcony.

Chapter 25: Filden’s Birthday.
“Happy Birthday!” Everyone shouted as Filden opened his bedroom door. Filden fell over surprised. He quickly stood up embarrased
Rene, Faith, Abby, Kara and Lily all stood there in front of him screaming. Abby and Faith hugged him and gave him quick kisses on the cheek. Kara ran over to him and jumped onto his back happily. Lily smiled at him embarrassed. Everything seemed to be happening so fast for her. Luckily Kara was joining in greatly. Kamui stood against a wall unsmiling but nodded at Filden in greeting. Dawn was stood next to him grinning and holding a small present.
“Hey everyone. Thanks…” Fildens stomach grumbled. “Umm… food?”
Abby giggled.
“C’mon let’s go to the main hall. Julius and Zeria organised a huge ass party for you! Of course we couldn’t invite anyone from school. We’re here unofficially of course.”
“I know I know. Can we please get some grub? I’m starved!” Filden groaned

“Y’know, we still gotta go on that date Fil.” Abby whispered into his ear as they sat at the large table filled with food. Rene was talking with Julius and Faith was playing with Lily and Kara.
“Hey, how about we go out tomorrow night?” Filden asked her. “Julius gave me a bit of money as a prezzie”
“Yeah, sure, why not? Where ya gonna take me?”
“I saw this nice French restaurant down by the plaza a few days ago.
How about there?”
“Sounds like a plan!” Abby smiled and kissed him happily on the cheek, Filden immediately turned red, went even redder when she held his hand under the table. Filden noticed that Rene had gotten up and was coming towards them.
“Hey buddy! Here’s ya prezzie!” Rene smiled passing him a large package. Filden smiled and ripped open the packaging. In it was a large square flat box. Filden flipped it open. He gasped loudly and then shouted out a whoopee! Inside was a brand new large shuriken. Each of the four ends had a different kind of metal. “Oh my god Rene! Thank you so much!” Filden stood up and grabbed his best friend in a fierce hug. Rene grinned and patted Filden on the back
“Glad ya like it bro.” Rene smiled as Filden let go off him and lifted the large shuriken.
“Thank you so much man! Hey I wanna word with you…” Filden grinned directing Rene away from Abby.
“My sources tell me that Faith slept in your room last night.” He grinned nudging Rene in the ribs gently. “Anything happen?”

Chapter 26: It begins.
The pair giggled as they re-entered the castle, Abby and Filden had finally gone on their date after a few weeks stalling. It turns out that they’d actually had fun, they’d gone out to a restaurant then had some fun at the pier. Rene smiled at the pair as they passed him. He was still training with Julius when they came, Faith was watching from the high wall.
“C’mon Rene, pay attention!” Julius ordered as he struck his blade against Rene’s. Julius charged once more forcing Rene to dodge sideways. The move was perfect. Rene readied a streak attack he had learnt from Kamui, he propelled himself forward and slashed into Julius’ waist. Julius staggered backwards, they were using practice swords but the blow still hurt like hell. Julius chuckled.
“Good boy.” He groaned clutching his side, “Blow like that would have easily killed me were we using real weapons. Soon we’ll start using magic, guns and blades. Okay?”
“Aye, aye cap’n!” Rene smiled, “You feelin’ okay?”
“Yeah, you just hit an old wound.” Julius told him loosening up.
“Ouch, how’d ya get it?” Rene asked. Julius lowered his head and sighed.
“My brother… I am sorry Rene, but I would rather not talk of it.” Julius sighed before walking away.
“Huh?” Rene rubbed his head and looked obviously confused.
“What’s wrong Rene?” Zeria asked, he jumped up shocked, he hadn’t even seen her show up. He quickly regained his composure and straightened himself out.
“Umm… Julius just said something weird….” Rene said.
“Hmm? That’s unlike him.” She smiled at him. “What’d he say?”
“Well, I struck him in the side and hurt him, I asked him what he had done to it and he said something about his brother, then he just shut up and said he didn’t wanna talk about it.”
Zeria went silent, her eyes became shadowy and saddened. “Julius’ brother used to be a good man… Until… No that is his story to tell you.” She gained some breath. “His brother was called Lucius, they were twins. Something happened and Lucius changed, over time he became a tyrant. He left Rosalia and journeyed for several years before coming back… with an army of darkness. There was a raging war, during of which your father was killed. There were 10 of us, we fought Lucius but we could not defeat him. Then Julius stepped in, he couldn’t face the destruction Lucius was creating and fought him. During the battle Julius was severely injured yet he managed to defeat Lucius… I cannot tell you anymore. I am sorry but this is Julius’ business, not mine.”
“I understand, I remember how dark the world was back then. Everything seemed as though it was going to be destroyed. Julius, may or may not tell me. But I’ll live if he don’t!” Rene smiled. Zeria nodded her head and left to see if Julius was alright. Faith had been watching with a keen interest and finally decided to float down to Rene. He smiled and she kissed him gently on the lips.
“How’s training?” Was her first words.
“I’m finally getting better!” Rene exclaimed. He was also looking forward to tomorrow. Julius is gonna get a whole bunch of his men to give me a little practice in big battles.”
“Sounds dangerous. Be careful. Okay?” Faith told him motheringly. He loved that about her. No matter what she was always worried about him.
“Aren’t I always?” Rene joked with her, she gave him a stern look and wagged her finger.
“Rene Skylar, stop playing around!” Faith scolded him. She then smiled.
“C’mon, wanna go out? Let go out to the countryside for once.”
“A’ighty!” Rene smiled, he grabbed his gear and followed Faith out of the gate. “What our method of transportation today then hmm? Flight?”
“After what happened last time, I’m surprised you want to fly.”
“Yeah almost crashing us into a clock tower was NOT my idea of a good night!” Rene laughed.
“You choose today then.” Faith told him. He cracked a grin and walked over to the small garage that housed a few of the castle vehicle, of course it didn’t match the size of the castle’s own port and airship dock but it was alright. Rene walked over to the nearest bike.
“Oh no. I said no!” Faith told Rene.
“Oh c’mon! Fil gave me a crash course on how these work!” Rene smiled.
“Yeah and remember what happened?”
“Uhh… I crashed…” Rene smirked.
“Yeah, I guess that’s what you’d call a crash course huh?”
“Oh c’mon! I’ve gotten better since!” Faith thought for a few moments then sighed. Rene smirked and kicked the bike into life. The dials on the main dashboard glowed a light blue and the engine began to growl in a low pitch. Faith jumped on the bike behind him and Rene used a remote to open the garage door. He pulled on the accelerator gently took the bike out of the garage. He felt Faith hold tightly onto him. They charged towards the countryside which was west of the city.

After what seemed like ages, they finally reached their destination. They had reached a large field full of hay stacks. In the distance they could just see the city and the large mountains that lay to the east. They walked together holding each others hands. They walked to a small hill that had a large oak tree. Faith smiled as she levitated upwards and sat happily on a branch high up. Rene smiled as he sat down on the grass and looked out over the fields.
“Isn’t is so beautiful here?” Faith asked Rene.
“Absolutely…” Rene told her, even though he wasn’t looking at the scenery but at her. Faith noticed this but didn’t let on. She like it when he was like this. She gasped. Rene heard her and looked in the direction she was looking. He immediately stood and grabbed his equipment. Ahead of them, roughly 500 metres away was a medium sized group of Kinukoan soldiers. There was roughly around 20 of them all marching towards Faith and Rene. A shot was fired. A light blue shield was cast in front of Rene and he managed to see the bullet that it had stopped that was aimed at his head.
“C’mon Rene! We have to leave! We’ll let Julius take care of this!”
“No chance! We can’t let them ruin this place!” Rene shouted angrily. He unsheathed his sword and growled lowly to himself. He could sense that Faith had nodded. He charged forwards, he dodged bullets and saw that the gunners had withdrawn. Swordsmen charged and Rene met them head on. He clashed his blade with the nearest soldier and felt him crumble. He spun around just as a soldier went to hit him. Faith was quicker though, she created a shield between the two and threw the soldier with all her might. The gunners started aiming for her. She quickly rose a shield but knew she wouldn’t be able to hold it long.
“Rene! Help!” She shouted, Rene jumped upwards and summoned his magic, he aimed right and sent a fireball towards the group of gunners, it hit them square in the middle and sent them all flying, however some were not killed, some managed to stand back up but decided not to aim for Faith again. Rene dealt with more swordsmen but was quickly gaining his fair amount of injuries. He took care of the remaining swordsmen as Faith was dealing with her last gunners, before she dealt with the last one he managed to fire off a shot towards Rene. It slammed deep into his shoulder sending him flying. Faith literally destroyed the last soldier before sprinting over to the groaning Rene.
“Rene!” She exclaimed as he managed to sit up. He lifted his sleeve up and smiled. An entire clip of ammo was in a leather pouch on his forearm. There was a great huge dent but he on the other hand was perfectly fine.
“Heh, that hurt a whole hell of a lot.” Rene said as he closed his eyes. Smack! Faith’s hand slammed against the side of his face. “What was that for!”
“You scared me you son of a bitch!” Faith exclaimed holding him close, his arm was in agony but otherwise he felt great. His cell phone began to ring.
“Hello?” He said as he flipped it open and put it to his ear.
“Where the hell are you!?” Fildens voice shouted from the other end. Rene could tell he was worried
“In the country. Fil, what’s up?” Rene asked concerned at his best friends tone of voice
“The city’s just been attacked is what’s up!” Filden shouted, Rene could hear screams in the city and the loud crackling of flames.
“What!?” Rene exclaimed. Faith looked concerned, she couldn’t hear the other end of the conversation but she could tell something was up.
“Don’t worry, it was only a small team of soldiers. No one was killed but a few citizens were injured before we got there.”
“Yeah, we got attacked too but we took care of ‘em.”
“What? Yeah I’m the phone to him now. Wait a minute… YOU GOT ATTACKED!?” Filden screamed at Rene, before he could answer the phone was taken from Fil and someone else on.
“Rene. Are you safe? I heard you were attacked.” Julius’ spoke to him over the phone.
“Yeah I’m safe, we got attacked but we took care of ‘em.”
“We?”
“Yeah, me and Faith.”
“Faith? But… Faith’s here.”

He took care of the remaining swordsmen as Faith was dealing with her last gunners, before she dealt with the last one he managed to fire off a shot towards Rene. It slammed deep into his shoulder sending him flying. Faith literally destroyed the last soldier before sprinting over to the groaning Rene.
“Rene!” She exclaimed as he managed to sit up. He lifted his sleeve up and smiled. An entire clip of ammo was in a leather pouch on his forearm. There was a great huge dent but he on the other hand was perfectly fine.
“Heh, that hurt a whole hell of a lot.” Rene said as he closed his eyes. Smack! Faith’s hand slammed against the side of his face. “What was that for!”
“You scared me you son of a bitch!” Faith exclaimed holding him close, his arm was in agony but otherwise he felt great. His cell phone began to ring.
“Hello?” He said as he flipped it open and put it to his ear.
“Where the hell are you!?” Fildens voice shouted from the other end. Rene could tell he was worried
“In the country. Fil, what’s up?” Rene asked concerned at his best friends tone of voice
“The city’s just been attacked is what’s up!” Filden shouted, Rene could hear screams in the city and the loud crackling of flames.
“What!?” Rene exclaimed. Faith looked concerned, she couldn’t hear the other end of the conversation but she could tell something was up.
“Don’t worry, it was only a small team of soldiers. No one was killed but a few citizens were injured before we got there.”
“Yeah, we got attacked too but we took care of ‘em.”
“What? Yeah I’m the phone to him now. Wait a minute… YOU GOT ATTACKED!?” Filden screamed at Rene, before he could answer the phone was taken from Fil and someone else on.
“Rene. Are you safe? I heard you were attacked.” Julius’ spoke to him over the phone.
“Yeah I’m safe, we got attacked but we took care of ‘em.”
“We?”
“Yeah, me and Faith.”
“Faith? But… Faith’s here.”

“What the-?” Rene said to himself as he hung up the phone. He was pretty much 100% sure that he was with the real Faith right now but whoever the hell this Faith at the castle was… Damn, Rene thought to himself, I’m so damned confused.
“What’s goin’ on Rene?” Faith asked. Rene sheathed his sword and reloaded his gun before turning to Faith
“Rosalia’s been attacked.” Rene told her.
“Oh god. Was anyone hurt?” Faith put her hand to her mouth shocked.
“No, but Faith, something’s goin’ on.”
“What?”
“Someone’s impersonating you back at the castle.”
“WHAT!?” Faith shouted loudly
“I know, weird huh?” Rene smiled, he quickly got onto the bike and kicked it into life “Don’t worry I know you’re the real Faith.”
“How’re you gonna prove that I’m the real one though?” Rene chuckled
“Don’t worry, I got an idea.”

“Oh c’mon Fil! It’s obvious that I’m the real Faith!” ‘Faith’ told Filden who was standing opposite of the cell she was in.
“Sorry mate. Can’t really make sure of that.”
“Do you WANT me to have to rip open these bars to get out?” ‘Faith’ joked.
Filden’s phone began to ring and he answered it silently. He listened for a few moments before hanging up.
“Rene and this other Faith is back. Christ this is so effed up.” He muttered as he left the room.
“Geez didn’t expect this to happen.” The fake Faith said as she began to glow darkness. “Aww well, best to keep this up until Vrael's ready...

“Let go of me!” Faith shouted as soldiers began to manhandle her off the bike. She struggled before getting angry and accidentally releasing a wave of psychic energy. The soldiers went flying and Faith immediately
apologized like mental.
“I’m so sorry!” She apologized as she helped a soldier stand back up. He immediately seized her and strapped blue glowing cuffs to her wrists. The sudden movements shocked Faith but she found her powers completely paralyzed.
“What the-?” Faith said shocked, this time she purposely tried to use her powers purposely, they wouldn’t work but her cuffs began to glow even more brighter.
“Sorry Faith, we can’t risk anything. Those cuffs are ancient artefacts‘. Power restrictor cuffs.” Julius told her as he walked down the steps from his castle. He was dressed in his powerful, looming armour. He had discarded his blade and taken up his usual weapon, a gun blade. He also had a long gun on the right of his waist.
“Until we are certain of your identity, we cannot risk you using your powers.” Kamui told her from the shadows.
“Sorry kiddo.” Dawn smiled. “I’m pretty sure you’re the real one.”
“Don’t worry I’ll be fine… It just feels weird to be constricted from my
powers…” Faith sighed, it was beginning to depress her. To be cut off from your powers like that.
“Where’s Fil, Abby and my sisters?” Rene asked.
“Abigail is out healing the wounded and Filden was speaking to the other Faith last time I saw him and I think you‘re sisters are with Abigail helping out.”
“Right then!” Faith exclaimed optimistically “Let’s go meet this Fakey Faithy!” Rene smirked
“Let’s get this sorted out!”

“But I’m the real one!” One of the Faith’s shouted. The two Faith’s were stood next to each other.
“You lying bitch! I’m the real one” The other Faith shouted. Everyone was so bloody confused. They looked exactly alike. They stood the same way, they even had the same kind of personality!
“How the bloody hell do we differentiate the two!” Zeria exclaimed. Rene wasn’t sure but he could have sworn that he could see Kamui smirking.
“I’ve got an idea.” Rene told then all.
“Go for it buddy.” Filden told him.
“Whatever the idea is. I hope it work.” Julius said shaking his head. Rene smirked. He went up to the nearest Faith and… kissed her. He kissed her for about a minute before stopping. He then went to the other Faith.
“Oh screw this shit.” The other Faith’s voice had changed to a male’s voice. The Faith was suddenly surrounded in darkness before her features began to change. She started to become taller and her hair became shorter and darker. She started to look like a man. His/her clothing began to change into a long dark robe.
“I guess ya got me.” The man smirked shrugging his shoulders.
“Who the bloody hell are you, he had unsheathed his sword along with everyone else.”
“Weeell, I guess I’m whatcha call one of the bad guys.” The man joked. “But to clarify. Name’s Minerva. I’m one of the Gaia Mercenaries. Anyways I guess the fun’s over now. See ya on the battlefield!” As he said this a portal of darkness appeared behind him. He saluted and then jumped backwards. Kamui was the first to react. He leaped forwards and managed to get through the portal. The portal then closed before anyone else could get in.
“Kammy!” Dawn shouted as the portal closed.
“Don’t worry, Kamui will be fine.” Julius told her resting his hand on her
shoulder. Rene could tell she was distressed and wondered if there was something between them.
“Yeah, you know what Kammy’s like, always getting’ himself into trouble. He always get out of it in the end.” Zeria smiled at her.
“What did he mean by battlefield?” The real Faith asked, happy that she isn’t being suspected anymore. Her cuffs were released and she rubbed her wrists.
“Dunno, might just be a saying.” Rene told Faith.
“Julius!” Rale shouted as he ran towards them.
“What is it Rale?” Julius asked concerned, Rale was never usually this worried.
“We’re being attacked once more. This time it is an extremely large force! They have already entered the outskirts of the town!”
“JUUUULIIIII!” Rowan shouted as she ran down the steps. She leaped down before turning around and fired two arrows upwards. There was the crumpling sound of falling bodies. “We got teleporters!”
“Damn.” Julius muttered to himself. “Right then, what’s the status of the wounded from the small strike?”
“We lost contact…” Rale told him.
“Abby!” Filden shouted.
“My sisters!” Rene exclaimed.
“C’mon! Let’s go!” Faith shouted. She began to run and Filden and Rene followed.
“Wait!” Zeria shouted too late, they were already gone.

“Ahhhh!” Kara screamed as a soldier loomed down on her.
“Leave my sis alone!” Lily shouted in anger as she connected a punch with the soldiers head. He was immediately unconscious.
“Where’s Abby?” Kara asked, Lily had grabbed her by the hand and began to run.
“I don’t know! We got separated!” Lily told her. Her face was drenched in sweat. She was wearing some brass knuckles she had taken from a dead soldier. She knew that they were losing.
“We have to find her!” Kara urged her older sister.
“No, Abby wouldn’t want us to put ourselves in danger. We have to get back to the castle.”
“Okay…” Kara gave in. They ran down a familiar alley and found themselves just a few streets away from their old orphanage. “Lily! Wee
have to see if they’re safe!”
“Okay. Let’s go!” Lily smiled at her sister. No matter the circumstances Kara always seemed to care about other people no matter what.

They were surrounded, Rene’s blade was drenched in blood. Faith’s clothes were ripped and Filden was panting. The soldiers surrounding them were smirking thinking they had won.
“Ready?” Rene shouted out.
“HELL YEAH!” Filden shouted as Faith nodded, Rene charged forwards with a quick streak charge. Faith threw a large group of soldiers away as Filden defeated his with a quick shower of small knives.
“Jeez, they really underestimate us huh?” Rene said as he pulled his blade out of a soldiers torso.
“ I don’t think they realise that it’s us they’re fighting.” Faith said, it seemed like they thought we were just normal people.
“I don’t think they’re gonna think that anymore…” Filden joked.
“How come?” Rene asked. Filden pointed. Ahead of them at the end of the
street was a massive group of Kinukoan soldiers. They were spotted. Kinukoan riflemen immediately crouched and aimed. “I think we should run…” He turned.
“WAAAAAAY AHEAD OF YA!” Filden shouted from around 20 feet away.
“OH THANKS GUYS!” Rene shouted as he began to run. Bullets zoomed past him as he turned the corner.
“Hey lookie here!” Faith smiled “Reinforcements!” Julius stood ahead of them with his team of men.
“ ‘Bout damn time!” Filden shouted. Rene had finally caught up with them.
Julius quickly spoke with his men and they immediately went round the
corner. There was a lot of banging and swords clashing before silence.
Julius’s radio went off.
“Job done.” A captain told Julius.
“Right, you know the plan, get to work.”
Faith was giggling at Rene’s complaints. Julius frowned at the trio
“Don’t run off next time please.” Julius told them.
“Sorry, but I’m worried about my sisters and Abby” Rene told him.
“Don’t worry, we’ve found Abby, she was with one of our elite groups
when it began.”
“And my sisters?” Rene asked impatiently, he was worried. Julius’ had
begun to look very serious.
“We haven’t found them yet, but we know where they are roughly.” Julius
told him.
“Where?”
“They’re heading towards their old orphanage. One of our scouts spotted
them but couldn’t do anything.”
“Why the heck not!” Rene shouted.
“He was shot 5 minutes after radioing it in.” Julius told him
“Damn…” Faith muttered.
“Fine, I’ll go get them now.”
“Go with Rowan and her team, she’s headed that way. They go near the
orphanage but you’ll have to go the last leg alone.”
“We’ll go with him.”
“Actually I need you two to help me.” Julius told them.
“Right, you two help Julius, I’ll go and find Rowan.” Rene told them
“Be careful!” Faith said kissing him on the cheek.
“See ya soon buddy.” Rene nodded before heading off in the direction
Julius indicated.
“Right then. You two. Faith I need you to go and find Zeria, she’s headed
for the dock, a large group of soldiers took it over and are letting enemy
ships dock there.” Faith nodded before heading off.
“Filden you’re to find General Rale. He’s heading to the front line.”
“Time to kick some arse!” Filden shouted before running off.
Julius frowned and shook his head.
“I have a really bad feeling about this…” He went off to find his team
again.
