I have to choose Paladin, My reason for choosing is well he deals huge amounts of damage with the ragnarok and like Gabranth said in page one he levels up fast
 
Probably a paladin. His white magic has come in handy in a few pinches I've been in, but I sure do miss the Dark ability. D: Alas, I can't have it both ways.
 
I have realized that Paladin does seems to level up faster in the beginning and so on through the game, but the Dark ability you had with the Cecil as the Dark Knight really was helpful. So it's Dark Knight for me.
 
Paladin, without a trace of doubt. While the Dark Knight's Darkness ability was useful, it's the only one, and it damages Cecil. As a Paladin, Cecil can use an array of White Magic, and as stated somewhere before, it's good that Rosa doesn't have to do all the healing, and Cecil has Cover. And Auto-Cover (It's saved my party many times already).
 
I prefered Dark Knight Cecil because the Paladin's white magic was bad.

I like Paladin Cecil more, he's a incredible Wall, I mean, 600 HP on level 1 o__o
His magic is useful for minor damage, but raise really comes in handy if you don't have any phoenix downs...

But I liked Cecil's Shadow swords, especially the one with the "Death" ability ^_^
 
Paladin was really awesome and useful in certain times, but I preferred Dark Knight better. In lower levels, he and Kain were basically carbon copies of each other in terms of stats. Then you lose Kain, become a Paladin, etc. Later, when you get Kain back, he starts of as a weaker version of Cecil, but quickly becomes a powerful character and usually equals Cecil in attack, just slightly lower (but still great) HP. Now, imagine if Cecil was still a Dark Knight. You'd have him with still-good HP, except you'd be able to do colossal damage. Kain already catches up to Cecil in attack, so basically just imagine being able to do 150% of the damage you do throughout the whole game. It wasn't alot in the beginning, but later on it would have been awesome.
 
I wasn't a happy bunny when I found out he went back to level 1 when he changed to a Paladin. At all. I preferred Dark knight. And looks wise, I still do, he looked great. And then he looked like a poof..

Although once I got him levelled up and used to him looking like a twat, I got used to it, and he has some epic weapons AND he has raise Cura which saved my butt afew times, so I guess overall, I prefer Paladin Cecil >_>
 
Paladin, I hated the dark Knight. The paladin rocks, not to mention makes him look better ^^ Cecil looks better in white.

Yes you can. At least in FFIVDS. Steal from Odin.

But yes, Paladin Cecil is what other knights ought to aspire to be. Squall, Steiner, Ashe, this means you.

You too Cloud, even though you're more Berserker, you aspire to be a knight for a certain lady. Act like Cecil!
 
To be honest I like Cecil as a paladin much better because he gains more stuff like white magic and the very powerful Ragnarok Blade. In his Dark knight he is worthless.
 
I have to go with Dark Knight... he was just a murder machine, yeah he takes some damage from using Dark but he hits everything for a good amount of damage. Granted... later in the game, like say on the moon where theres all those monsters that are weak Vs Light, he woulda stunk cuz his damage output woulda been terrible. But early game, Dark Knight kicks butt.

I kinda wish they'd make a challenge mode where you can choose to be Dark Knight and the game still plays out as you became a Paladin. So the story wouldn't change but you'd have to use him as Dark Knight in combat.
 
I went with Dark Knight. His 'Dark' ability was great, especially so early game. The Paladin's okay too, but i thought his White Magic wasn't exactly very impressive.. So I chose the other, lols.
