I would love some advice (slash a massive step bai step guide) on how to defeat the Sin Spawn. I mean the one that vomits over you and uses its arms as defense. I don't want to look through a walkthrough because I always stumble across too many spoilers and things which annoy me. Thankies ^^;;

Since it uses it arms to defend, you need armor piercing attacks, which means Kimahri and Auron. Lulu should know Fira/blizzara by then so use her as well. Just get Auron and Kimahri to attack physically and Lulu to use magic. If Lulu dies use a phoenix down on her and keep attacking. If you get 'venom'ed then bring Yuna in and use Esuna and then bring back whoever you replaced. It only has 6000hp so it's not a difficult fight.

You can also avoid it from using it's Venom if you attack the head with Wakka's ball when it starts moving.

So...you're referring to Sinspawn Gui, then? :wacky:

First off, knowing the second-tier black magic is an absolute must. Having Fira in your arsenal will allow you to take off Gui's arms with a single shot, which will leave him exposed much faster. If you turn your attention to the head quickly enough, you can destroy it (it turns gray and stops moving, if I recall), and Venom is no longer a problem. If you've still got problems, use Haste on Lulu or Wakka to speed things up. :monster:

Gui has a lot of HP; 4000 for the head, 16,000 for the torso, and 800 on each arm. As said above, -ra spells are essential for surviving this fight.

First and foremost, destroy the head with Lulu. Continuous attacking will not only prevent its attacks, but you'll soon whittle its HP to 0 - at which point it turns grey. Obviously to speed this process up, have Tidus cast Haste on Lulu and Yuna; the latter is imperative to keep your HP up considering he attacks really hard.

Switch Tidus out for Auron and hit the torso a few times with Power Break. Have Yuna cast NulShock too to lessen the sting. You could even invest in some Focus with Lulu once you're comfortable with how the battle's going in order to increase your magic whilst decreasing his.

My bet is that you're a bit undertrained. Spend about 20-30 minutes in Mushroom Rock Road to bolster your stats before heading in.

Alternatively, you could always sent out Ifrit and Valefor with full Overdrives to speed things up. :wacky:

Personally, I like to take the Head down first, it will never be revived when killed, unlike the Arms. Plus you prevent any issues like Venom and whatnot with that gone. I use Wakka, Kimahri (Lancet) and Lulu to take that down quickly. Once the Head is gone, I attack the Body directly with Lulu's magic and use everyone else to take down the Arms (and Yuna as curative support of course). I usually have at least a few Overdrives all set and once the Arms are gone, I unleash then on the Body before the Arms come back.

The first time I did this battle, I didn't have Lulu's 2nd level magic yet, and I managed to get it done. It just takes more time and the Arms will revive more, but not all is lost. The battle after this one is much easier. And also if you wanted, you could always use Yuna's Aeon's to do some heavier damage. Make sure to get everyone involved in the battle too, even if they just defend because there is a lot of exp to be had from this battle.

Best of luck on your pilgrimage!

Before hand: Get everyone's (Yuna + aeons not needed, unless the party is not very strong) Overdrive Gauges full. Having Antidotes at hand is recommended. I can't remember, but having Piercing Weapons for Auron and Kimahri is good.

In battle: Start with Wakka, Lulu and Auron (or Tidus). Wakka and Lulu should just be attacking and spelling the head (the venom one, use Overdrives, or just normal attacks.). Auron hack away at one of the arms. If you have Hastega (or just Haste) use Tidus instead of Auron and Haste/ga Wakka and Lulu. Healing should be Auron's job, unless it is severe and thus everyone should chuck a (Hi-)Potion on themselves. From what I gather, one arm less will do less damage, and allow you to do more damage to the 2nd head/groin. When an arm is dead, switch in Yuna if you wanna Esuna or Cure anyone. Keep your attacks on the Head until it dies. When it dies, switch the next available character for Auron and the other for Kimahri. Attack the other arm. Switch Tidus for the remaining character (party should be Auron, Kimahri, Tidus). When the arm is dead, have everyone Overdrive the groin. Continue your assault and when the arms grow back, get Yuna in instead of Tidus for healing while the other two kill both arms. When both arms are dead, switch Yuna out for Tidus (/or Wakka, whoever is stronger) and pummel the groin. Continue until dead.

Note: You can also summon aeons if you like. It is recommended to summon Ifrit, as he can heal himself with Fire. Basically you can summon him at the beginning of the battle and deal with the venom head.

Note2: Seymour's Overdrive Mode is on Stoic. It is possible to activate it. You can only see it once.

Here goes....

First of all, use auron and tidus to kill the arms, and with Lulu, or yuna's summons, kill the head. Deal damage to the head when it starts shaking. If the head starts shaking and the Gui's turn is next, and it is auron or tidus' turn, then switch them out for wakka and deal damage to the head. Once the arms are dead, I recommend using auron to damage the body. Once the head is dead, you do not have to worry about the venom attack. Then afterwards when you have to fight it again, Just use magic and hope to god. Now, also remember that Lulu's spells do not get blocked. so whenever the head is not shaking, use lulu's spells to attack the body if the arms are up. Hope this helps.

Also remember to have a few pheonix downs for this battle. and the next one. No brakes in between the two battles with this sinspawn.

also remember that whenever possible, use aeon overdrives. Aurons dragon fang is also a good tactic. Overdrives do not get blocked. By the way The head does not have much HP.
