RP Title: The Paths of Destiny
RP Purpose: To allow players and their characters to interact with other members in order to pursue a mutual cooperation and development of each others's Role Playing Skills, biography, et cetera.
RP Leaders: Julius Aurelius (Hal Emmerich) and Carbuncle (Red Fox)

RP Guidelines:
In this RP, the sign up thread will not be implemented since it is an Open Role Play. However, a few restrictions on how to join apply:
1. The intro post of your character must have a minimum of four complete paragraphs of five sentences (or well alright, four sentences the first or even the second) as well as a link leading to the thread in which your Biography is located.
2. You are NOT to post your RP Biography here. Read the first rule. Avoid posting your character's biography in this thread. The main purpose of this thread is to help characters to use their first post to introduce their characters while using as many details of the character's appearence, personality, among others, as possible.
3. You are NOT to use pre-created characters from either video games, books, mangas, anime, movies, comics, et cetera. So no, we don't want another Cloud/Squall hybrid moving around performing Omnislashes at whim.
4. Basing your swords on pre-existing weapons (such as the Gunblade for example) is acceptable as long as you don't exactly RIP it from any video game (mainly from FFVIII).
5. Do not make your character a God of some sort. Anything that sets it foot on this RP can be killed.
6. Do not give your characters skills that make him/her seem undefeatable. (this applies if you come to fight)
7. Please if you engage into an RP Battle, try to avoid making more than two posts per day. If you believe you will need more freedom, make an RPB thread and link it to this thread. Quote your opponent to help us follow the fight (doesn't count as Post Length :stare:)
8. Do NOT God-Mod/Power-Play. Failing to follow this rule gets an early visit from the Grim Reaper (in other words, first time, warning, second time...you die ^_^).
9. Try not to fall asleep in open areas (RP wise). Players might attempt to steal your loot. I mean it. Use the Inns. If you can't find one, make one. If you create a building, in this case an Inn, please try to add as much information as possible.
10. Identify important factors such as weather, daytime (day, dawn, night, etc), rain/sunny whatever comes to your head. Make your post quite vivid!
11. Use interaction tags such as the following:
Characters Involved: Alumar (Red Fox), Janus (Julius Aurelius)
Location: Bar, Loumina Village

12. Each post most have a minimum of one complete paragraph (five sentences, no less) or else you will be asked to add more content. Failing to do so risks a player being expelled of the RP (or visited by my friend, Grim) ;)....
...Oh, and dialogues does not count in the five sentences minimum :smartass:
13. And last but not least. Read these rules at least once -__-
Seriously :brooding:

Post Statement to the Rules: The Questions & Answers thread can be found here. Use this thread to ask all questions so that you don't post them in this thread. This thread is only for RPing purposes. Thank You.
Otherwise....enjoy :monster:

Environment:

The continent of Azmeria... a land of sublime beauty and splendour usually famous for the large amount of visitors who arrive to the port towns each day. The coast has many commonly visited beaches surrounded by palm trees and fishing towns besides the two larger towns; Daian and Megid. Much of the continent is covered by immense forests and mountains bisecting the continents in several valleys and plains. Countless ruins of temples and castles lie scattered all over the continent, as well as landing sites of meteor showers from countless centiries and even eons ago. The continent of Azmeria is divided by the rivers and lakes in thirteen territories, each of these territories having their distinctive towns and society (you, as a character can become the duke, or king of a province if you do well in the RP.

The most important Location, the Scarlet Kingdom, lies in the depths of the chain of mountains surrounding it, near the southwest of the mainland (which is shaped as an irregular quadrilateral which has several land masses sprouting from it and several islands on the northwest and southeast). The Scarlet Empire is only accessible by the crossing the Marlian Valley, and if you are brave enough, by crossing the Forbidden Swamp, a place very little adventurers dare to enter. The Forbidden Swamp holds within it an ancient uncharted shrine, long since abandoned and forgotten.

The Scarlet Kingdom, having its capital at the very center of four districts surrounding the four corners of the province, is very well developed in terms of technology, culture, knowledge, and alchemy. Many of the most famours alchemist have studied or at least, have visited, this place.

Most of the architecture found here can be compared seen as being inspired by the expression of feelings, such as building very tall and complex building with pointy arcs and many decorations. Most of the colours used are either white, blue, and gray, and very rarely, black. The capital of the Scarlet Empire is known as Selenia, and it holds one of the greatest libraries of Azmeria. It holds many buildings such as taverns, Pubs, Inns, temples, and of course, The Argentum Palace, known as such due to its splendorous whiteness and tall edifices. It was built as a rectangle with a five stories tower at every corner and a hexagonal building surrounded by a garden in the center. The Hexagonal Building contains the palace chambers, the courtroom, The Royal Library, and the basements holds the chambers of the Scarlet Knights as well as several training grounds.

OOC: Ok, due to the vast knowledge that Alumar Loren holds, he will be entered to this RP.
Alumar can be used, if persuaded, to train any person in what he knows. There are several things that he will never teach away, as most are beyond most mortals limit due to restriction in age.
If one needs any guidance that Alumar can give, please DO contact me via PM, MSN or similar, as he will refuse anyone that tries to gain it directly via ‘in-game’ procedures without discussing it with me first.
----------------------------

Alumar looked to the sky though a window, but could see very little as the pouring rain somewhat hindered his vision. And it was not just raining, it was RAINING, instead of a common rain as one might picture, this evening brought a severe rain storm, the winds were strong enough to topple over poorly constructed huts, and in turn it made the rain ‘fall’ more horizontal then vertical, almost upwards again. The occasional lightning bolt struck down somewhere, bright enough to light even deep caves. There was one good side to it though; the few ships that had captains mad enough to traverse the seas at this time had an excellent speed across the ever so unstable waters.
“Airships….” Alumar almost giggled to himself as he pictured the ships jumping the waves. Though he was annoyed by the weather, he wore a nice outfit. His straw hat somehow survived the winds and would fly to hell and back if it were not strapped under his chin, and his leather cape kept the rain away, at least when he positioned himself so that the winds did not blow it open.

“Why did I decide to travel now? I should have listened to the old fool..”. he muttered to himself, he had actually talked to an old friend of his. Though as he was going senile Alumar did not take his word with too much weight, it only proved that even a senile old fool’s skills will not nessesairily diminish.
As the ship docked, Alumar decided to check his inventory as one could never be too careful. Putting his hand into a small portal on the inside of his cape, he carefully checked what he had.
“Money, healing potions, mana potions, wound healers, pipe, wand, bracelet, assorted herbs, some notebooks and a bottle of homebrew spirits.”
This was what he had at the moment, he should stock up on some nessesitairies as he got the chance later on.

The bell sounded as a final strong jerk signaled the completion of the docking process. Alumar sighed as he looked out a window, the rain was still there. Though Alumar did like the rain, he preferred it when it was raining vertically, and not so much that one cannot see more than a few meters ahead.
Checking the fastenings on his hat and cape, he headed out through the door as he was greeted by a rather strong gust of wind, not to mention the amount of water it brought with it.
Forcing himself through the bottleneck that the doorway created for the wind, there had to be another door open somewhere, Alumar found himself on the lower deck in the matter of several seconds.
Being guided by a few of the crew, he found his way towards the makeshift bridge they had to land.
Alumar cursed internally that he had to rely on other people for situations like this. He cursed that he had to restrain his use of the powers he controlled. If he decided to let loose, he could change the very weather they had. Or at least, almost.
He have great powers indeed, but prefers not to use them, at least he prefers not to use the stronger ones. As though Alumar himself might not get any effects from them, the sheer destructive powers they held rarely caused anything but a few deaths.

His feet landed on the solid ground of land, at the very same time as a thunderbolt was sent across the sky. Alumar grinned; the timing was interesting though simply a coincidence.
Lifting his head slightly, he took in the very vague sight of the destination he had arrived at. A sign to his left mounted at the stone wall of a building signaled he was at Loumina Village.
His tongue felt the lack of moisture in his mouth, as ironic as it was salt water only dried you out. “Feck you salt..” Alumar muttered as he started walking, looking for a bar or for anyplace that served drink and food.

Walking along what could best be described as a main road of sorts, Alumar cursed more and more the longer he had to walk in this storm.
His rage was building for no apparent reason, where as he knew this was not the doing of the villagers, he was considering removing the whole villages as his rage continued to build up.
Alumar stepped in a puddle, at the same time that the wind lifted his hat of so it fell to dangle on his back from the string, at the same time a puddle that had formed on a grassy roof fell down ending up on Alumar’s head.
One could almost hear a vein popping, as his pure white eyes almost shoed a raging fire. In his right hand suddenly a large transparent sphere formed, it had a yellow tint and sent out small yellow sparks at random intervals.
“Fffff*” HE was suddenly interrupted by a calm voice to his left. “Do you seek accommodations, traveling sir?” Alumar’s rage suddenly disappeared, to make room for a face that screamed of confusion. His eyes drifted from this burly black bearded man to a sign that dangled with the storm. ‘The Shady Turtle’ it read, ’Pub and Inn’ stood just below on it.
Alumar felt like an idiot for a second, here he was just about to remove nothing short of a complete street, standing beside the very type of building he was looking for.
Taking a deep breath, he closed his hand absorbing the energy put into the spell, so that he did not have to expend it.
Following the man through the main entrance, the door was closed behind him.

Before taking of anything, he surveyed the building; It was of decent size, some 20 tables. Some of them were 2 seaters with smaller tables, where some were 4 seaters with larger tables. There were also 2 larger tables for parties that exceeded 4, and seemed to take up to 10 guests if needed.
Judging by the prices of some of the edibles, along with a decent price for the rooms suggested this was an Inn of good quality. One could assume that the rooms had a decent bed with a cupboard or closet, perhaps even a private shower or bath.
At the present moment, the Inn was rather empty, a few here and there but nothing special.
Everything was made of wood, though there were some paintings here and there, torches lit the room, and candles lit the tables, though the candles remained unlit due to no one were using them. No use in using candles for no one, at least that were the logic behind it Alumar found to work best.
There hung a chandelier from the ceiling rather well positioned in the middle of the room, and behind the bar there were 2 doors, one where clearly marked ‘kitchen’, where as the other most likely led to the private quarters of the owners.
Along one of the walls, was a decent sized fireplace.
The atmosphere was calm and rather nice, though the lack of people was most likely due to the storm that were ravaging outside.
Alumar took of his hat and coat and shook what water he could shake off them through the door before he closed it again. No use being thrower out for not taking good care of the hospitality. After all, the bearded man had just saved Alumar from leveling a block; he had earned at least this. As his cape was taken off, it revealed his red shirt, covered with the green vest. And his blue pants that ended up at some dark brown leather boots, which he also did his best to clean off; after all he should not track mud in here.

Walking over to one of the corners in the room, he sat down and looked at the menu.
It listed several of the possible choices to eat, as well as to drink, not to mention the price for the rooms. An odd place to put the price, but Alumar guessed it saved the staff from the same question more than once.
Looking up, he again looked at the bartender. He was somewhat tall, Alumar estimated 6ft something, and he was almost as wide. His muscles were bulky, yet he was not thin per se, he was well fed if that makes sense.
He had black hair that reached his shoulder blades, and a black beard that reached his upper chest. Though all this, he looked rather gentle and a nice looking person. Though Alumar assumed that if there were to be any commotion in here, he would not hesitate to flatten out the ones that made it.
It was written in his eyes, he had seen his share of fights no doubt that were where the muscles had come from.
Alumar had put the cape hanging over the back of his chair, so the rest of the water would run of it, and his hat were placed on the table well within the reach of his right hand.
He waved to the bartender while pointing at the menu, signaling that he was ready to order.
Within a few minutes, a young girl came over, she was slightly lower than Alumar, and she had let black, silken looking hair, reaching to her hips. She had it hanging loose and was wearing a waitress uniform of the time. She was a rather cute one to behold, no doubt the Barkeep’s daughter.
Alumar made his order of meat and potatoes, with some sauce that he did not know the name of, and a bottle of the finest wine they had.
She write things down as he ordered and repeated it after he was done, after a confirmation from Alumar she walked back to the Barkeep and handed him the order, he nodded and walked into the kitchen.

Alumar sat more back in the chair he was sitting in, looking at the wooden roof, he inhaled deeply before exhaling.
He was dry, the fireplace kept the room nicely heated even though the winds were harsh outside, and he was going to eat. He felt relaxed for the first time in days.
Perhaps after the storm lied down, he would finally get to do what he came here for.

Chapter 1: The Birth of a Struggle…

Months later after receiving the news of his promotion to Imperial Knight, Janus Varelius received orders of exploring the Azmeria continent in hopes of developing a new trading relationship with the Scarlet Empire. Lord Cray, ruler of Versages, was an old friend of Sir Wallace Cronqvit, grand general of the Scarlet Empire. Lord Cray hoped that his friendship with such an important official of the Scarlet Knights would ease the development of a treaty between both empires. Since Janus was Lord Cray’s most trusted lieutenant, it was natural that he would be assigned such a task. After nearly a week of preparations, Janus finally reached the port town of Aur, hoping to take a ship towards the port town of Daian. The ship in which Janus embarked himself was an imperial flagship. The deck had a length of fifty one meters while the length of the keel was thirty one m and the beam only twelve. It had three ten feet tall masts and it had a crew of fifty people, including a captain, ten travelers from distant parts of Versages, Janus among them as well. For fifteen days Janus traveled the seas, facing gruesome sea storms and the unending boredom of being secluded to the limited area of the ship itself. Whether he was training on deck or sharpening his sword in his cabin, Janus spent many days thinking about his new mission.

It was one day during those weeks when he was found late at midnight, gazing upon the wondrous heaven on a star filled night. The eternal lights that watched over him were reflected on the irises of his eyes as he smiled with satisfaction and joy, an indescribable feeling of passion for this new unpredictable challenge. During that night, he felt as the cold yet tender mist caressed his cheeks and he sighed, feeling somewhat relieved by this calmed weather. Janus then walked towards one side of the deck and rested his elbows on the wooden rails and stared at the passive waves as they were cut by the impervious ship. Later on the night, Janus retreated to his cabin and rested knowing that the following day he would arrive to Daian.

Soon the ship arrived to the docks of Daian, and all the passengers disembarked on one of the most prosperous towns in all Azmeria. Janus picked up his luggage and a set off towards the territory of the Scarlet Empire on foot alongside with a several other travelers who were heading to his same destination. For days, Janus spent the day time to walk across the valleys of Azmeria and safeguarded himself during the nights building his own camp. Of course, Janus knew very well not to lower his guard and was always certain of having his sword at hand’s reach, just in case he would have to defend himself against unsuspected foes. All seemed to be going well until Janus realized he was running out of supplies and had to make a quick visit to the nearest village, Loumina.

Janus quickly reached the plains near Loumina village and moments later, it started to rain. But not just this fierce rain, it was just like this one you find annoying because just seems to never end. In the outskirts of Loumina Village, Janus found himself lost in his own thoughts as the rain fell lightly on his head and shoulders, pouring his skin and refreshing and vitalizing his weary body. Janus passed his left hand over his head as he combed his hair back with his fingers. He rested his hands on his waist and smirked as his eyes gazed upon the landscape. On the far near the coastline, Janus could sight a storm approaching from the sea, a natural phenomenon of which he had rarely seen before. Janus then surveyed his surroundings noticing that the trees waved, almost elegantly, due to the strong wind blowing all around him. Janus knew he had to make haste if he wished to find a safe resting place or else he would risk being caught defenseless in the storm. As he prepared to move his first foot, Janus suddenly felt heavier. All his clothes were soaked, and his dirty trench coat felt heavier than usual. Covered with dirt from head to feet, Janus mastered his weariness and summed up what was left of his energy to run as fast as he could towards Loumina Village.

With every step he made, his mud covered boots splashed the many puddles scattered across the open field. The blades of grass were torn and stuck to his sole as his heel dug small holes on the ground. As he headed towards the entrance of Loumina, Janus’s jet black hair scattered all over his forehead. Janus then used his right hand to wipe away the hair and combed it back to be able to see through this hellish storm. The weather grew worse as he approached the entrance to the town.

Not a single soul was seen on the open and those who were seen on the streets quickly ran towards their homes to find shelter from the storm. Out in the seas and on the coastline, the docked ships waved from left to right with their anchors preventing them from floating away and into the wood splintering waves. Many vortexes could be seen sprouting out from clouds and into the waves; the air and sea currents clashing violently at each other. Janus had never seen such a storm to ever occur, and he even wondered if this phenomenon could have been caused by unnatural means.

“At long last… I made it in time….” Janus muttered to himself as he suddenly stopped at the very entrance of Loumina Village. Exhausted, Janus bent his abdomen forward and rested his hands on both of his knees with widened eyes as he gasped for air. There was little time; the storm dangerously approached the town as the wind began to blow more and more intensively. Janus’s eyes, slightly covered by his hair, drifted from left to right as he finally gazed upon the sign reading ‘The Shaddy Turtle’ and thought of it as his best chance to safeguard his own life. Desperately, Janus filled his lungs with air and then dashed hastily

Unfortunately, the door was sealed shut moments before he had a chance to reach it. “DAMN!” Janus cursed angrily as he fell on his knees and slammed his fist on the ground, shoveling his knuckles on the muddy puddles. He splashed the puddle scattering the water all around as the rainstorm grew more and more intense. Severe lightning bolts began to be seen closer and closer, even at the point of falling very close to where Janus laid. Janus frowned, his angry eyes sunk deep into the heavens as he readied himself to face this one sickening demon…fear.

Janus then got back on his feet and walked towards the entrance of the Pub & Inn determined to make someone open the door. Just as he reached the portal of the building, a lightning struck a nearby tree and made one of the branches fall in flames against the soil. This made Janus to become even more desperate to enter the building as he slammed his right fist continuously against the wood door. The door was thus opened by an old man with a black beard wearing a leather vest and brown cloth pants. The old man introduced himself as Barden, and he was the owner of ‘The Shaddy Turtle’, a Pub & Inn located on top of a hill which gave it a view of the whole town. Barden frowned as he was forced to open the door during such a horrible storm, yet a customer was a customer. “It was about time nature calmed itself….geez…” Janus ranted as he sighed and placed his arms on the table, resting his head on top of his forearms.

“What dost ye wishes at such a late our and with such an awful weather?” Barden asked with frowning eyes as he interrogated the stranger. Janus gasped for air as he then he recovered and stood firmly before Barden not being intimidated by the angry owner.

“I wish to look for shelter sire, and it seems you have heard my plea as my fists expressed what words failed to deliver. I have gold and I can pay. A room is all I ask, and if not a room, then someplace where I can put my body at ease and rest.”

Janus said as he addressed respectfully to the store owner. In all honesty, if it weren’t for this harsh weather Janus would have looked somewhere else to stay, but the necessity made him drown his ego and be submissive this time only. Barden sighed as he let Janus pass. The old Innkeeper locked down the door as Janus noticed that fewer people were seen in the Pub, after all, it was near midnight and the bad weather made people to have little mood for parties.

Wishing to dry himself, Janus walked towards the fireplace as soon as he spotted it. Relieved, he took a nearby chair and placed it next to the fireplace, sitting as close to the fire as possible without burning himself. Janus then stretched his hands towards the flames and slowly dried himself, feeling the warm fireplace. His trench coat slowly dried, and all the mud covering his clothes dried and turned into small patches of dirt. Barden then approached Janus, wondering if the man was going to pay him or not.

Noticing the Innkeeper’s presence, Janus pulled out a single bag of coins (he had four in total) containing thirty gold pieces and handed it to Barden. “This should suffice for a good meal and a decent place to rest” Janus said as he kept he stare at the flames. The gold coins made Barden grin with joy as he left the key to a room in the second floor. Janus picked up the key and stored it away safely inside the bag; there he kept most of his belongings alongside with the letter containing the details of his mission.

Suddenly, Janus noticed the presence of a strange man who was enjoying a delicious meal at the far corner of the Pub. Feeling encouraged to do the same, Janus stood up and walked towards the Bar, locating a table near one of the windows and sitting next to it. Janus then took of his coat and hung it from one of the chairs near his table, letting it dry as he looked at the menu left on the table.

As soon as he was ready, Janus snapped his fingers in order to draw the attention of one of the bartenders. He gave the bartender the details of his orders which were; some chicken breast stew and a loaf of fresh bread with some fried rice and a cup of wine. The bartender took the menu card and left as he headed towards the kitchen. As he waited for his meal, Janus gazed upon the stormy weather outside, feeling relieved to have found a safe place to spend the night. The storm seemed to have subdued after a while, and the atmosphere felt more tranquil. In his mind, Janus wondered if he would find here the means to reach the new alchemist level he long sought to achieve. His Stone of Alchemy was far from being completed, and he required the assistance of yet another Master Alchemist in order to complete a variant of the ‘Philosopher’s Stone’. With it, not only he would obtain a new formidable power but also he would be able to hold a chance in a fight against a longtime nemesis, Hera Ledro. The dragon warrior Hera Ledro and his nephew, Jake Long, once fought Maximilian, Janus’s best friend, and almost killed him in the process. After Maximilian was left in bed for nearly two months, Janus swore revenge in order to defend his friend’s honor.
“God, if only I could find someone who knew as much as I need of the Philosopher’s Stone. Then I would be able to recreate the legendary Elixir Jewel and with it, imbue my sword with the power to resist Hera Ledro’s and Jake Long’s unbelievable magic.” Janus said allowed as he lifted his head from his forearms and gazed on the panoramic view outside.

Rain pelted down towards earth relentlessly all long the coastal area of the Azmeria region. It was the type that would send even the hardiest soul scurrying back to its abode, be it man or beast. However, along a muddy, beaten dirt track up near a cliff walked a small, cloaked figure. In such a weather, the figure could barely be seen. What is even more interesting was why the figure was even traversing in such weather. By Saint Theodora, what beastly weather this is... On closer inspection, the face hidden by the hood was that of Phallia De Masquas, the recently exiled/ on pilgrimage Holy Matriarch. Her inexperience has seen to it that she be sent out of her Church on a world wide pilgrimage before she is able to be reunited with her sisters. It was definately an inauspicious sign, to be struck with such ill luck on the first leg of the journey.

As the young priestess neared the small village of Loumina, the wind picked up by force, threatening to rip Phallia from the ground she stood on. Thunder cracked loudly and its flashes of lighning illuminated the streets. Her cloak has taken the worst of the rain, but with the reinforced wind, it began to billow. The white hood blew straight off Phallia's head, instantly exposing the blonde hair to the elements. Both gauntletted hands held down her precious clothing, which meant that lodging or cover need to be found urgently. Her small stature did not help her much in staying firmly on land and in with visibility down to several meters, Phallia had almost decided to head towards the large oak tree and wedge herself between the trunk and the wall of a rather sturdy looking house when a small sign had caught her attention. Hope rose as the prospect of an inn appeared in her mind. Mustering her remaining strength, Phallia dashed across the open street towards the door, the normal clinking of her boots drowned by another roar of thunder.

Upon reaching said door, attempts at opening it had little result. Phallia raised a fist and hammered urgently on the wood, hoping that it would not be drowned out by the weather. No response from inside came and a sinking feeling egan to settle into her stomach. By the Gods, open up! A sudden strong gust blew through the streets, whipping a fresh barrage of rain into her face. This time, it almost picked the poor girl from her feet. Only the hard grip her hand had on the door frame kept her from becoming airbourne. Fustration rose as Phallia knocked harder and continuously. Either the owner open up or he would have to contend with a constant knocking throughout the night. Almost immediately, the door yanked open and Phallia was met with a towering beast of a man, his face was none too content. Another customer in this wretched weather... he muttered more to himself that to Phallia. The man's eyes seem to be probing her when another strong gust of wind almost pulled Phallia down the hill. A sigh of resignation slipped through his lips as, what she had guessed was the owner, stepped aside.

The instant the door was closed, the noise died down considerably. Phallia was content to just stand at the doorway and catch her breathe, but instead walked towards a free table. The clinking of her boots returned and oddly, the familiarity of the nosie brought comfort to her. Her hand wandered to her Diamond of Recognition on her forehead. Relieved that the chain and jewel was still in place, Phallia sat down on the rickety wooden chair. Missy, you shouldn't be wandering around in such weather at your age. What would your parents think? Looking up at the owner with a slight hint of indignity, Phallia replied Sir, i am 20 winters old. I am capable of caring for myself. With a barely audible grunt, he dropped a menu on the table and walked off. Hunger was not an issue right now for Phallia and she was just happy to sit and rest. From her throat, she unclasped her cloak and set the white clothing behind her chair. A quick inspection showed that her armour was somewhat dry and her two swords were fine. With extreme care, Phallia let her wings open slightly, controlling it from springing open on reflex. After a bit of moving, Phallia refolded the white wings tightly onto her back, out of the way. Since no maintenance was needed for her armour and her wings were fine besides being a bit sore, Phallia was free to relax. For the first time since entering, she casted her eyes around the room, looking at its occupants. Besides the owner and the waitress, there were several customers around. Most were ordinary, however, two caught her eyes. One had a cloak with imprints of angels, which grabbed her attention whilst the other was a man digging deeply into his meal. The two just seem to jump out at her from the occupants of the inn, but all in all, it was just curiosity. Feeling the drilling eyes of the owner, she waved down the waitress and ordered a bowl of steaming beef broth. It was going to be a while until the storm died down, so she might as well warm up.

Characters Involved: Phallia De Masquas (Tipsynaruto), Barden (NPC, Inn keeper)

Alumar was enjoying his meal; the quality of the good was rather decent, not as the crap that many excuse for high quality. This barkeep must either be a good chef, or he has a wife or daughter that has some skills.
Releasing the fork and knife he was currently using, he sat back and lifted the glass of wine to his lips. Taking a few sips of it he placed it back, this was a good wine indeed, though if what they say is true; that wine gets better the longer it stands, Alumar has a few bottles that are a few centuries, old. Perhaps he should try one of those out when he returns to Ft. Rigel later on.
Though, for now he had other priorities, the reason he came here, he was told that there were something here that required him being there. And since this came from a seer that had not disappointed before, he took the words as a reason good enough to travel at least. In all his years he had never been here, so even if there were nothing special here, he at least got to travel here and gain another journey under his belt.
Letting out a yawn, his jaw fell much further then he intended, a girl had entered but she had large wings.
He had met some winged people before, but they were rather scarce, and most of them had rather unique reasons for the wings. Some were born with them, whereas some obtained them other ways.
There was also this person that had an aura that screamed ‘I’m a knight’ around himself. Seeming like an interesting person that as well, the winged girl was more interesting at this point.

Wondering what he should do now, he waved the waitress over so he could pay his meal. Coming over in her rather eye-hogging uniform, Alumar took out the necessary amount go money, and rented a room at the same time.
The waitress left the table with the empty plats that contained food a few minutes ago, and came back after a minute with a key that she lust let lie on the table. A thanks later she were gone again, leaving Alumar to consider what he should do.
The newest 2 customers seemed to be interesting, but this journey had taken a lot of his energy, and regardless of what he stated thinking about, it ended up on a warm bed.

Grabbing the key, Alumar stood up as he pocketed it. Putting his hat on his head, he grabbed his cape and walked up the stairs in the right hand corner of the room. He hoped silently that he would meet the 2 again later.
Getting up, he stood peering down a hallway, all the doors had numbers on the doors and the key Alumar had showed the number 5.
Walking over to it, he unlocked it and entered.
His previous assumption where correct, the bed had a size between a normal and a double one, there were a cupboard for those that wished to use it, a foot chest for those who wanted that, a table with a chair beside it and a candle on top; the table also had a few sheets of paper with the necessary tools to write. In a half-room effect to one side where the bathroom, where a bath along running water were usable if one wanted to.
Alumar were dead tired, so he decided to take a bath later on, and as he locked the door behind him he threw the cape over the chair.
He placed the hat on the table, and undressed the rest before he went to bed, falling asleep rather fast.

As he waited for his meal to arrive, the mysterious foreigner relaxed himself on his chair as he stare through the window to the perturbed skies. The relentless storm seemed not to give an ounce to yield and insisted on plunging the coastline of Azmeria and Loumina Village into an endless surge of soaring thunders, lightning bolts and a fearsome rain. As expected, much of the farmers secured their animals inside their respective granaries were they also safeguarded food and supplies. Inside the Inn however, there was this contrasting scenario which Janus found quite unusual. Almost everyone seemed to be sleeping peacefully upstairs while those who did not could be found enjoying the harsh midnight by a warm and comfortable fireplace.

“How insane…the world nearly collapsing outside these walls and they are slumbering so peacefully. Perhaps the best way to escape this harsh reality is in our dreams…” Janus muttered to himself moments before Barden’s daughter, a beautiful waitress arrived with his meal. The sweet lady placed the food on the table and greeted Janus moments before retreating back to her own chambers. The refreshing aroma of the chicken breast stew and the loaf of freshly baked bread quickly put a grin on Janus’s face. The large man quickly placed his hands together and bowed his head, performing a small prayer thanking to the lords of heaven for this meal. As soon as he had finished, Janus picked up a small wooden spoon and submerged it into the stew, then he brought it back to his mouth tasting the delicious chunks of tender chicken and the bitterly yet addictive spiciness of the stew. He then took the bread, split it and then he dipped some bread on the stew, delivering it then to his mouth and then biting it slowly as if he were savoring every ounce of the magical mixture of bread, stew, chicken, and the different spices contained in the dish.

Having finished after a few minutes, Janus stretched his left hand towards an opened bottle of wine and served himself some of the aromatic fluid on a glass cup. With his right hand he then grabbed the glass of wine and had a mouthful of wine, feeling the relaxing and warm liquid going down his throat replenishing his strength and soul. While enjoying his beverage, Janus could not avoid being aware of the notable presence of two unsuspected travelers. One was man wearing a cape (from Janus’s perspective, the cape’s colour seemed light brown) which covered much of his body as well as a wide stray hat, similar to wizard or magician Janus recalls seeing during his journeys. However, this man was quite distinctive, for he had an extra finger on his left hand. For some unusual reason there was this aura of power and wisdom emanating from this person. Janus later on witnessed the man retiring from the pub, possible to his chambers.

Then moments later another person, this time a young girl clad in knightly fashioned armour and soaked by the torrential storm immersed herself into the Inn after Barden allowed her to pass. Almost seconds after she entered, Janus noticed an unusual trait; she had wings. Of all beings he had met or heard, Janus had never seen winged people howbeit he recalls reading about them during his years as a scholar. There was this ancient race called The Guardians which protected the Earth against The Fallen. These two races waged wars against one another for countless centuries. Janus wondered if she could be one of these ancients and if not, perhaps related to them somehow.

The rain drummed constantly on the roof of the tavern, the pitter patter caused a moment's distraction from her interest in the man's cloak, which in turn made Phallia realised, she was cold a wet. A warm broth will do to. Waving her hand to waitress, she peered into the faded pages of the menu. Inside, along with the list of food, were the price of rooms. Judging from the still heavy rainfall, Phallia thought that maybe some rest would not be too bad. Halfway from returning to her chamber, the waitress diverged and headed towards her table, giving her best serving smile. I would like a bowl of beef stew...as well as a room for the night. Preferably one with a big bathroom. With natural ease, the waitress jotted down Phallia's order and walked off to the kitchen, leaving her alone once again. By this time, it seemed the man who was eating had left for his room. However, it was just a passing interest and Phallia saw no need to pry any further. All she needed to do was to eat, go to her room and free her wings. Waiting was not one of her best virtue, as evident in her now wandering eyes. As expected, it fell back on to the cloak of the man with the angel. It made her curious as to what they represent to this man, these figures that resemble her kind so much.

”Let Kelip free!” A tiny voice shouted in a dark corner not too far off from a table that worked as a ‘pay point’ for a store.
A short thin haired fat man with an all gray robe, and some questionable hygiene issues used a stick to strike the cage that the voice came from. “Be nice, or I won’t feed you today” his annoying voice stated as an evil grin grew on his lips.

5 days earlier all started well. Kelip, a 5inch green dressed, black haired small fairy, had an interest for the species in the world decided to visit a random city. After she had managed to stow away on a ship, something that were not hard at all considering her size, she laid eyes on a town. In her glee for the scent of food and the feel of a rest for her wings she darted towards it, keeping to the heights rather than the road, so to stay hidden from humans until she had decided to get close to one.

Though, due to her height in the sky, a nearby hawk spotted her. Looking around, Kelip were unaware of the impending attack, though she randomly followed a cloud that were moving in the sky that lead her eyes to the incoming death dressed in feathers. Barely managing to avoid the diving attack the bird used, she immediately headed to the forest, the hawk in hot pursuit. On the way there, she had to dodge the incoming attacks more than once though as luck would have it, she was more agile than the hawk.
As she got into the forest, she looked around for a suitable hiding spot. It would seem as he luck had ran out as she was caught by the hawk, its sharp talons managed to scrape her along her leg as she twisted free. The pain made her fall to the ground in a pain induced blackout. Her weight compared to her large wings made her fall rather gently, and as she opened her eyes she saw the incoming hawk from a distance.
”Help me!” She shouted out in her native tongue all that her lungs could muster, but she got no reply. A flash of her short life passed by her eyes as she prepared for incoming death.

Suddenly, the hawk stopped mid air and only a small splatter of crimson liquid fell to the ground beside her. As she slowly became accustomed to the pain, she opened her eyes. What she saw made her smile with outmost joy.
A wolf held the hawk in its jaws, its head and wings completely limp signaling the bird’s death. It would seem that her voice was heard, and a wolf came to her rescue. As a reward, the wolf were given the dead bird, after all no animal should go unused for something, it is the animal kingdoms law: Kill for food, not for fun.
As the wolf took its prey with it, Kelip went to a stream of water not too far off, and washed of the blood from her leg, which seemed to be slowly healing already. Though as her metabolism healed her slowly enough, the hunger began to creep in, her nose picking up several alluring scents she completely forgot the pain. She got off the ground and started towards the town.

As she followed her nose, she ended up near a restaurant, or inn, or whatever she could not care less as long as there was food there.
Sneaking around until she gained as much food as she could carry, she ended hiding away in a small bush not too far off. Almost inhaling the food she had gathered she became full rather soon, and ended up dozing off in the few rays of sun that came through the bush’ branches.

Suddenly, she awoke to a feeling of being strangled, as she opened her eyes she was in a human fist but was shortly enough put into a small box.
There she were held captured for what seemed like ages, until she suddenly were greeted by a strong light as the case were opened. Trying to dart free, she noted that the whole case were in a small cage. She was once more in her life, captured.
The man introduced himself as Yog, the owner of a store called Ranuff, A pun on “random” and “stuff”. He thought it was hilarious at least, though as one could guess Kelip were in no mood to laugh.
She was to be kept in the cage for how long it took to get her sold for a reasonable price. Logically enough Kelip did not care for this idea so as she tried to escape in several ways, she was punished with a lower food ration, if one at all.
Even trying to get the few customers that he had, to free her only ended up punishing her to the brink of going mute, not to mention the starvation.

So, for every customer entering, she kept her mouth quiet, but she tried to command him to let her free in both the human tongue as well as her own. He laughed at both and punished her as he saw fit.

Now, as a large storm approached, Yog seemed to be one of those that actually kept the store open regardless of what was going on outside. Even of Kelip managed to get free now the wind would only crush her against something, no doubt kill her in the process.
Her morale were fading alongside her will to live, she refused to think of the whole human race as this evil, but this man was one of the ones that the world could do without.
“Please.. Let Kelip free…” she muttered, but Yog seemed not to care.

OOC: Same as Carbuncle. New character. different post unless they are in the same scene. btw, how do i link just one single post?

It has been a few days since she broke through the barrier and already the colours were blinding. The field she had landed at smelt sweet with flowers and the sun had felt just as warm as it had in her realm. Mtiette had no idea how much things had changed. Animals which she had once known had changed as well as the actual landscape of the place. Her enhanced senses were overloaded with such wonders that the first few days, Mtiette did nothing but explore the wilderness around where she landed.

Human influence appeared several days after she had landed on the continent. From what she read, she was on a road leading towards the nearby town of Loumina. Shrugging at the sign post, Mtiette began the long trudge towards the town. However, her trip did not seem to go as smoothly as she had hoped. Mtiette had not bothered covering her wings. To herself, she saw nothing wrong or out of the ordinary about it. In her time, it appeared that there was little relationship with winged people and spirit. However, that was not so in this period. Her halo showed up and it was still very visible in the daylight. The peasants she approached either screamed and ran or dropped to their knees and worshipped her. Confused and embarressed, she slid her spear into the weapon portal, thinking that that was the problem and made her way towards the village.

At the last few days, the wind picked up and the rain began to drop. With a slight frown, Mtiette cursed Lasarus. Word was that he had dammed a sky river somewhere and that the overflow did not pool properly in the lake and overflowed. It just so happened that his farm was above this area and disrupted the weather pattern. The longer and closer she got, the heavier the rain became. The result of both natural rain and that of Lazarus had made the weather beyond crazy. The wind picked up and ruffled her grey feathers. The rain was not a bother for her as was the wind. Mtiette had flown in rougher air currents and storms, so this was not so much of a problem. Her hair was slicked to her back and her face as was her armour. Despite this, her pace did not falter and her stance did not change. Mtiette walked upright and proud as if it was in perfect weather and she going for a short stroll to a market. The village was little more than a port with several buildings erected around it, but every single human village seemed like this since every city was sprawling upstairs. With a sigh, the Heliant continued through the deserted street and was about to bypass the dreary little town when a door with light pouring through drew her attention Ranuff eh...? Interesting...

Mtiette swung open the door and it appered to not have been locked down. The owner seem too be a businessman through and through to stay open in this storm. As she stepped forward, her wings knocked into the rim of the door. With a sigh of irritation, she folded her wings back behind her before walking in. Tch, damn doors are so narrow... Mtiette cursed under her breath while shaking water off her body and wiping hair off her face. Yog, seeing a customer sprung to action. Ah, welcome, welcome! How can i help you? Miss, i see you are a fighter. Maybe some potions? Or maybe a bomb or a weapon? Ranuff has everything. I am sure you have som..uARHGH! His little sales patch was cut short by the sudden opening of her wings. It hit the man squarely on the forehead, sending him rolling back and behind the counter and out of sight. To be honest, she did not even notice the man. Now...lets see what is here for sale? A quick browse through the store showed that what the owner had was either obsolete or not needed. In fact, she was shocked at the quality of some of the thing. Yuck! Are you serious? How can he sell this? Mtiette lifted a small elexier to her eye and swirled the tiny bottle. To human eyes, it appeared to be golden in liquid, sort of like caramel. To Mtiette, she saw right through and into the bottle, picking up all the sediments and additives and junk that was in it. Tch...how deceitful... she tutted in disgust. With a smooth twirl, the Heliant turned on her heel and headed to the door before a small cage caught her eye. Inside the battered little cell was a tiny winged creature, very much like a human. Instantly, her head craned down to the little creature. Wow...what is this? A Faerie? A butterfly? A finger came up and poked the cage curiously. This meant that she did not notice a rather angry and bruised Yog behind her with rope to bind the unaware Heliant, sure to sell for a rather high profit at the slave markets.

Also; FINALLY, a post in here ^^ For the record Kelip might leave you at a later time, as I do have plans for her in this RP, the reason I added her is to get some back story on the ideas I have for new abilities for her. But until that time, I will play her out based on her personality ^^

-----------------------------------

The storm was raging strongly outside, random objects such as barrels and even a few doors, flew past.
Kelip had stopped asking to be set free, as she actually realized quite some time ago that it would not happen. She prepared for her death, as it might be sooner then she would like to even consider, if you consider what food she was given, or what food she was not given, considering that some of it could not be classified as food at all.

Looking here and there, she managed to spot a few travelers outside; they seemed to have issues of their own, and regardless of how much she wanted there were no way to actually reach them with her voice, or any voice at all due to the storm.

Falling to the bottom of the cage, she balled together in a corner of it as she did not have much heat to use; she had to take usage of the little she had. Balling together with the already little grass that she had in there. Or well, the grass had turned to hay, it was dry and brown, not green as it should be even of it had been lying there.
Though, she managed to keep warm with it, barely.

The door opened and someone came in, but Kelip had given up, she had lost count of the lot of customers that had entered the store and not cared about her, some even told Yog to ‘make it shut up’.
Not even bothering to look up, she just continued to sleep, or lie in said position.
Even after hearing a noise of a crash, she remained as she was, she did not have enough energy to move, as Yog had decided not to feed her that day for some reason.

Wow...what is this? A Faerie? A butterfly? “ a voice stated as a warm breath moved Kelip’s hair, and right after the cage was bumped into, forcing it to dangle back and forth.
Tilting her head she looked at Yog’s customer. She was very unlike the rest, she had a weird round thing above her head, and some metal clothes on top of a dress.
Her whole being gave off an aura that was rather weird….

She muttered at her visitor, as she did not have enough energy to do otherwise. “Leave Kelip cage alone, it make Kelip seasick”
Though, being rude to the customer, Kelip assumed another ‘no food day’.

Janus spends a few more minutes pondering about his next destination while finishing the last of his stew. The last of the wine was about to run out as well, much as Janus's energy for he was slowly succumbing to sleep. He passed his left hand over his face and rubbed his eyes as if trying to wake himself up, yet his eyes and mind were to weary to still keep awake. Janus leaned forward, his forearms resting on the table (his forearms were forming an X on the table, with his right wrist on top of the left wrist) as his long hair fell over his face and landed softly on his wrists. Janus then leaned back, stretched his neck moving it from left to right and then sighed, closing his eyes and focusing his thoughts. Outside, the intensity of the storm had quietened, the rain showed no signs of ever ending. As the rain drops fell landed on the muddy surface, vivacious winds made the trees and bushes wave from side to side. The darkened sky...purged of all its purity now maddened like a ravenous beast...

Janus then stood up from his chair, picked up his trench coat (which he had left before hanging by the fireplace) and then walked towards the vestibule leading to the second floor. As he walked through the silent bar, Janus noticed that the visitors he had witnessed before are nowhere to be seen, perhaps they have left to their own chambers. As he went upstairs, his right hand running over the old fashioned stair rail, Janus gave slow steps almost as if he were dragging himself.

Once at the second floor, Janus looked further into the corridor trying to sight his own room. As he walked down the corridor, Janus passed by Alumar's room, and a dark chilling filling ran down through Janus's spine. Janus halted, his eyes shifting to the door leading to Alumar's chambers.

"Hmm...this power...what could it be?"

OOC: You did not give me much to go on. ^^
Well, here is mah reply. I urge you not to try anything funneh ^^
-------------------------

Alumar had been sleeping for not too long, but his mind was at full gear, showing him images of various things.
In other words, he was having a dream or perhaps several if that makes sense.
Though one could not see what he was dreaming of, one could barely see it as his eyes were moving underneath his eyelids.

Suddenly he awoke, his eyes staring into the wooden ceiling, where he had a feel of being observed.
Looking around the room there were no one there, though he could not see if there were anyone behind the walls.
Concentrating more as he woke slightly, he noted that the only energy he could feel in the nearby area, where someone outside the door.
Not having noted the energy signature of the knight before he did not recognize him at this point, he just noted that someone was outside the door.
Putting on his pants he activated his ‘Detect Life’ spell, this would allow him to see the person behind the door. Now having a mental image of a person, he made ready for an attack or a reaction at least.
It was this seemingly paranoid way of acting that had saved his life again and again.
Readying his ‘Energy Beam’, as that would pierce the person and the wall, instead of burring down the whole place, though considering the rain that was not likely to happen.

“Who is it?” he asked in a commanding voice, as he waited a response, he tried aiming for the legs just in case something happened.

As he stared at the door, Janus suddenly had a chilling feeling that ran all down his spine and shackled his body, perturving all his sense. For an instant, Janus pondered whether to feel threatened or challenged, or perhaps it was neither and all was just in his head, who could tell. However, Janus stepped away from the door and slowly rose his right arm reaching the leather covered hilt of his sword. Standing in a defensive stance (his left shoulder aimed at the door while he withdrew his right shoulder and prepared to unsheath his blade if needed) Janus awaited for a response. Suddenly, a voice emerged from within, demanding an answer.

"I am Sir Janus Valerious, and I hold no ill intentions against ye, yet if thou insists on being a threat against me, I shalt not let this threat and challenge go unnaccepted. Speak no if you are a man of piece, or draw your sword if you are a man of evil and war..."

Janus replied addressing carefully to the man, and regardless of feeling threatened, he referred to him with all the respect a knight can offer. As Janus awaited, his heart rate began to increase as it beated faster and faster with each passing second. His blood rush through his veins feeling his muscles and joints with energy, a burst of energy that could run loss at any moment. With frowned eyebrows, Janus kept staring at the door. Sweat began to pour from his flesh and cover all his face. Regardless of how nervous he felt, Janus was not willing to let his fears rule over his will.

Alumar stood in a stance, where his legs were at a shoulder’s with, and his right palm pointing towards the door, he could see a hazy replica of a person though the door via his detection spell. Awaiting the slightest reaction he stood there, energy slowly fluctuating awaiting the opening thought that would release it.

After getting an introduction, along a choice, Alumar relaxed and went back to and idle stance.
As the choice was continued, Alumar could do nothing by laugh, no doubt this Sir Janus on the outside could hear his laugh.
“Hold on” he muttered, audible enough for the man outside to hear.

Putting on his shirt and vest, he left the cape, shoes and hat lied on the table.
He opened the door and saw the person outside, it was the knight person from below. Apparently Alumar had not been asleep for too long, either that or this Janus had been sitting there for quite some time.
“Well-“ Alumar started as he fully opened the door. “-I am a warrior of the mind, not one of a sword, but I will not start a fight.” Stating so with a smile, sort of wondering why he introduced himself in such a manor, it was rather uncharacteristically of him. Ignoring it for now he continued his question as his pure white eyes kept its look on the knight.
“As you introduced yourself, Ill at least do the same; I am Alumar Loren, what business do you have outside my door?” He ended the question with a small grin, almost as if he told a joke, though the joke was more one towards himself and hardly one that anyone else would know.

Mtiette's brow creased ever so slightly at the little creatures attitude. It appears to be somewhat lazy and not motivated along with being a little bit on the thin side. Nonetheless, she was still interested as she had never seen such creatures. Turning towards the counter, Mtiette began to ask for help when a loop of rather tough and rough looking rope circled over Mtiette before a rough foot was placed between her wings.

Yog tugged hard, using the odd creature's back as leaverage. For such a fat and most likely unfit man, it was surprising he had such strength. The rope pulled together the wings uncerimoniously, causing a yelp in surprise from Mtiette. Mtiette did not struggle, letting the man do as he pleases while he secured her bonds. Struggling right now was futile and she might try to negotiate her way out. Excuse me, I do believe this is unnecessary. Please release me this instant. With confidence found on the fact that his prey was nicely tied up and helpless, Yog chuckled menacingly. You're going to fetch a pretty penny from traders y'know. Winged ones are extremely rare and it doesnt hurt that i have caught such a pretty one too. With a hefty tug, Mtiette was dragged to the centre of the room, away from "anything" that might let her escape. Satisfied that the bonds on her leg and body was tight, the store keeper sighed happily before adjourning to the back room once more. Well...that didnt work well... Mtiette said toherself rather good naturedly.

OOC: Yog is a short fat man, not thin ^^ ---------------------------------

Kelip lifted her head a bit, just enough so she could see over the edge. It seemed the metal clothes lady was being captured as well, though she did not seem to care much.
As the fat man went into the back room again, Kelip wanted to speak to the new captive, but she did not have enough energy. So her head simply fell back to the lying position she was previously in.

Alumar’s grin faded slightly, as he walked back into the room but leaving the door open. Still awaiting a reply he sat down on a chair by the table, and gestured the knight to do the same.

OOC2: Sorry for short post, there is really not much more I can do in this situation ^^

"Ha" The warrior exclaimed as he put his blade back in its sheathe. Janus was pleased to know that he would have no need to engage in battle in the middle of the night, after all, his body was worn out enough after travelling for countless days. Sighing in relief, Janus proceeded to apologies to the gentleman for his suspicious behavior.

"I am sorry, I suppose the weariness of my body hath clouded my reason. Yet believe me when I say that I hold no ill intentions against ye."

Janus addressed Alumar courteously, as he folded his arms against his chest and leaned his back against the wall outside Alumar's room.

Alumar remained on guard, whereas the knight in front of him seemed to speak the truth, Alumar were not one to trust in someone this fast. Trust is earned not given.

As Alumar had already seated himself, he simply smiled at the apology.
“So-“ Alumar started “-I ask you again; What brought you to my door?” he asked in a more commanding tone.
Whereas he was tired after his trip getting here, there was no doubt that this knight had the same issue, though Alumar would like to know exactly why he ended up taking a posture like this outside his door.

As the man seemed to be standing outside, even if Alumar had offered him a seat, he did not offer it again, not yet at least. He simply sat there awaiting a reply.

OOC: whoops. Forgot about this.

Mtiette rocked silently back and forth on the spot, humming slightly. One would not think someone with such a carefree face understood the situation she was in, but Mtiette knew. it was just that she wasn't overly too worried about it. The man was no threat, nor was his plans on selling her. If she wanted, she could have sent him to his grave at the time of him tying her with Raen 'Bar, but it would be overkill. He was just a simple, albeit slightly morally corrupted, merchant. After a short while, Mtiette was bored. She had stopped rocking and the constant drumming of rain was beginning to irk her ever so slightly. To break the air of silence, Mtiette made another attempt in conversing with the faerie. Like a worm, the Heliant wiggled towards the cage and before long, had her head just centimeters from the iron bars. So...whats your name?she asked the small creature How long you been in here?

An already worn out Janus crossed his arms and leaned against the wall while staring at the window on the opposite side of the corridor. His eyelids were slowly closing as he struggled to keep awake however; it was evident that he would require at least some rest soon. Notwithstanding, albeit he was obviously and evidently quite exhausted due to the long journey, in respect to Alumar, Janus decided to stay and share a few words with this stranger. In response to Alumar's interrogation, Janus offered his most honest answer.

"Sire, in all honesty I had believed thee was a treat to this people and to myself. For such, I was ready to draw my blade if the situation at hand required it..."
