Conflict: 1v1 RPB

((OOC: Oh no… It would seem I wrote my previous post in a way that wasn’t what I intended to convey… Plus, it seems I god modded your character into charging at my other illusion behind… Sorry for the mistake I made. Also, if you do manage to hit the illusion, it’ll just crumble into water.))

So, the trap has finally paid off. While Carolina may have cast a spell of her own, she probably sacrificed her chance of escaping the area of effect with speed. Nevertheless, she glanced over surreptitiously, and then hid back again, pleased to see Carolina would now suffer the effects of her spell, ‘Ignite’.

What she doesn’t know was the fact Carolina had defended herself against this with her spell, ‘Pelar’.

Defeating this warrior would call for a higher-level spell, and Unity thought it was time to introduce Carolina to her true powers. Furthermore, this was her original intent as well.

She merely wanted to get a chance to use her powerful spells, and chain-spells, as she called it.

Not caring about hiding any longer, Unity spoke aloud, activating her spells. “Earth Spike,” She murmured, directing the spell to occur directly below Carolina. “And… Golem. Come forth and aid your mistress.”

‘Earth Spike’ was a spell that would happen instantaneously, and should be hard to dodge. More importantly, Unity knew, this would buy some time for the Golem to be completely summoned. Although it was not possible for anyone to stop the Golem’s formation once it is summoned, Unity hadn’t thought about this then.

OOC: Except I didn't manage to hit the Bubble, at least not till this post.

Carolina was hit with the Ignite spell, springing the trap. However, whatever damage her ignite spell was intended to do, the damage was only minimized, partially since the armor additionally protected her, without it being heated to very painful levels.

"This girl also knows how to set traps, this will be a lot more difficult than I anticipated." Carolina thought as she continued onward nonetheless and launched a kick to Unity's midsection, but she only crumbled to water.

Immediately after the Bubble crumbled she felt a tremor in the earth, followed by a spike of Earth aimed at her leg, despite Pelar's abilities, the Spike managed to dent Carolina's 2-in thick Mythril/Steel Plate Armor. But both the last two spells also managed to do some damage to her leg so she wouldn't go as fast as normal. "Mierda" (Shit) Carolina cursed under her breath. But Carolina knew if Unity was using these delaying tactics, it proves that she's casting a bigger spell.

((OOC: For convenience's sake. Linked to the Character Bio.))

How very right Carolina had been to guess a bigger spell coming.

The Golem was now almost complete, save for a few more components that were still being magically formed. Unity saw no more need to hide her at this point. Her most powerful spell, her magnum opus, is now nearing completion. In simpler terms, the battle was now tilted to her favor.

Wave!” She exclaimed, summoning a wall of water that formed relatively quickly in two seconds. As soon as it was formed, it rushed at Carolina at its natural speed, 50km/h. “And now, fear the might of the Beast of Water!”

Quickly going through the incantation for her next spell mentally, she concluded it, saying,” Tentacles of Kraken!”

Immediately, at her back, water began gathering to form four tentacles. However, it didn’t form as quickly as her spell, Wave.

‘Tsk, seems like I shouldn’t have revealed myself after all,’ Unity noted. ‘The Golem may take some more time to complete, especially if she decides to hit it.’

Be that as it may, it was too late for Unity to hide away again.

OOC: May as well do the same and link my character here.

IC: Carolina saw Unity cast a Wave at her at high speeds, high enough that it is impossible to outrun. Carolina decided to jump over the 1m (about 3 ft) wave. Timing it so that she would be able to clear it. She ran forward at 9 mph and jumped over the wave, clearing it by mere inches.

Coming into a rolling landing, Carolina said to Unity, "Nice try, but your time is up!" As she charged forward with sword drawn and ran forward to the tree where she heard Unity's voice, only to find an incomplete golem forming itself and Unity starting to form large tentacles using water.

Having to make the decision quickly, Carolina decided to attack the incomplete golem. Running up the tree and climbing onto a tree branch, she jumped from branch to branch, delaying every second due to her leg. Carolina was unsure if she'll make it to the golem before it is complete.

((OOC: Linked to the Character Bio.))

Unity could only thank the heavens for Carolina’s decision to attack the Golem. If Carolina had chose to attack Unity, the chances are, Unity will not be able to escape the attack unscathed. Nevertheless, seizing this opportunity, Unity ducked behind the trees again, to buy herself more time for her Tentacles of Kraken to form completely.

There was little need for her to be concerned over the incomplete Golem, for it was not destructible until it’s completion. This spell was Unity’s magnum opus for a reason. Until the Golem is completely formed, no form of attack may stop its formation. It’ll just be a waste of energy, since the damaged part will just reform over time.

Her Tentacles of Kraken was now approaching completion, and feeling more confident, she peeked out of her hiding spot to see Carolina jumping from branch to branch to close in on the Golem. Unfortunately, the Golem was far too close to completion.

Even if she does damage the Golem, unless she used a very high level Water spell, it was not going to be possible to totally crush the Golem and force it to reform from scratch.

“I applaud your bravery, but my time is not up. The battle has only just begun.” Unity said, loud enough for Carolina to hear.

“I applaud your bravery, but my time is not up. The battle has only just begun.”

Carolina smiled, it has been a while since she fought a worthy opponent, even if it was a mage. She said, "I'm glad, cause I'm just getting warmed up." As soon as she finished speaking. She jumped forward to strike the Golem in the chest area, but the blade would not cut through. "What the?"

OOC: Short post, but I need to ask this, what moves does your Golem do really? Also, you think it's stupid attacking the golem, but me, I think it makes sense in my mind.

((OOC: The golem does no special elemental attacks nor does it have any uh, special moves… As to me thinking it’s stupid to attack… Well, do note that everything I post in there is what the character, Unity thinks. It’s Unity’s thinking, except in third person.))

Watching Carolina strike the Golem in futility only made Unity smile smugly. Thereafter, this failure to impede the Golem’s formation allowed the spell to be finished. Now, the Golem was ready for action. “Forgive me then,” Unity said. “Golem! Strike down this foe!”

Heeding its mistress’ orders, the Golem raised a rocky fist up, and brought it down on the female warrior.

Meanwhile, the Tentacles of Kraken that was in the process of forming is now very close to completion. At this point, considering the distance between Carolina and Unity, it was unlikely that Carolina would be able to catch Unity unprepared for melee combat.

As Unity had said earlier, ‘the battle had just begun’. Those words are now concrete facts.

"Forgive me then, Golem! Strike down this foe!”

Carolina watched as the Creature raised it's hand and brought it down on her. Reacting only quick enough to bring the shield to bear. The shield was around the same size as it's fist but it quickly sent Carolina tumbling to the ground and almost in a daze. Coming out of it, it showed that Unity's magic tentacles were already taking form, which means it would be a two on one melee combat.

Slowly coming to her feet, it was clear that Unity's Golem had knocked the wind out of her, but this was a fight that would go on for a bit longer than usual.

She now waited for their next move so she could counter.

With all due respect, Unity was expecting this apparently agile warrior to evade the blow. After all, the Golem did not have the advantage of speed. What it had is strength, which Carolina must have felt when she protected herself with her shield. The Golem, however, did not cease its attack, this time, raising its leg to stomp down on Carolina.

No doubt, it will be the whole weight of the Golem that Carolina is bearing if she uses her shield. Unity knew now, that she must move, or lose this fight immediately. By this point, her Tentacles of Kraken were fully formed. It was time for her to personally engage Carolina in battle as well.

Walking casually over to the girl, she wielded two of her tentacles to cover her, while using the remaining two tentacles as she would her hands. There wasn’t much hurry for Unity to get over to Carolina, for she had to observe her next move before attacking. There was also a need to coordinate her attacks with the Golem after all.

The Golem’s one and only fatal weakness is its susceptibility to the element, Water. Incidentally, Unity’s Tentacle of Kraken is of the element Water. A careless strike may well result in a disastrous outcome. Her eyes of blue stared at Carolina keenly, ready to react when she moves.

Carolina saw the Golem's leg come down, which Carolina dodged quickly before it would crush her. At the time Unity already formed her Tentacles and she saw her coming at Carolina, her blue eyes looking at Carolina's own blue eyes.

"Two on one doesn't seem much like a fair fight, but you've shown enough skill with magic to actually be worth a challenge."

She looked back at the Golem, probably reading itself for the next attack. Carolina knew that if she struck her own Golem, it would be weakened enough for her to even the odds.

Drawing her sword at Unity, Carolina would have to frustrate her opponent with her agility if she had any chance of taking down the Golem.

“Well, I apologize if you do feel disadvantaged.”

Carolina was now relatively trapped in her position. Beside her was the Golem that Unity called forth, while in front of her was Unity, with her powerful Tentacles of Kraken. Unity continued to speak,” But it is I who would be disadvantaged if I do not call for someone else to help me out.”

Her Tentacles of Kraken swung about menacingly. “Oh well,” She said, and then took several steps forward to close the required distance for the tentacles to be in range. In a snap movement, she had the tentacles lash out at the warrior.

The Golem readied itself to deliver another punch, but remained cautious about attacking Carolina at the moment because of Unity’s attacks.

“Well, I apologize if you do feel disadvantaged. But it is I who would be disadvantaged if I do not call for someone else to help me out.”

Carolina said to her, "Good, I see you understand a very smart aspect of battle."

Unity's Tentacles of Kraken lashed out at Carolina, she dodged them by flipping through the opening the sides of the tentacles had, this was followed by running towards Unity and swing downward at her with the blade, expecting to either force her to move or hit at least one or two tentacles. This would be followed up with a backhand swing with her shield, in an attempt to knock her away should the latter happen.
