Classes You Love

Linguistics

I've found it pretty interesting so far. It involves looking for similarities and differences in different languages which in turn can be used to explain how particular languages were developed. It also involves looking at how words and sentences are constructed. So far, I've had to figure out what certain words in foreign languages mean by looking for patterns and such. Pretty interesting stuff.
You and me both! I'm only in an introductory course of linguistics, but I love learning about it. I like those kind of problems where you have to figure out what different words in a language mean by looking at the patterns. I think it's called a morphology problem. In the last test we had, there were one of those problems, and the professor used Klingon as the example. XD

In high school, the only classes that I really enjoyed were my art classes and the general psychology class. There are way more interesting classes here at college, like Japanese, Chinese, Linguistics, Greek Literature, Chinese Culture, Japanese Culture, and more.

AP Physics C: Electromagnetism, it's pretty interesting even if it gets pretty hard
Calc C: my teacher is pretty awesome and really really witty.
Stats: I sit next to the girl I like? our entire class pretty much only exists to fuck around there, it's really funny stuff. I think we got a couple poems out of it; the class is mindlessly simple anyway, and our teacher can't teach so...

girl i like also sits near me in calc.

Oh, Band: I love trombone and euphonium is okay, and I met a bunch of friends through band at school.

- Mathematics: All the way through Calculus it was fun, specially with what I was involved, xD
- Physics: Oh, what a marvelous topic, not to say "useful" xD
- Chemistry: Definitely fun, specially the laboratory sessions.

Well, the rest are just humanities and languages, something not as enjoyable all the time, xD

Media
Ahh Media so much fun its pretty cool what we learn about like the History of music press ,Reality TV, Conventions of horror, Filming, Editing,Arthouse films, Indie vs Blockbuster and advertisement

the course started very boring but it picked up half way though

the teacher is a pretty cool yet very geeky guy who love transformers and video games

Band and Computer Programming are by far my favorite. Web Design has grown on me as well.

As for academics, probably Algebra II and Italian I. Algebra II because there is always a way to find an answer, and is very logic-based. I'm good with logic. Italian I because I've always had a thing for being able to do more than one type of something. For example, I try to learn as many musical instruments as possible, as well as Programming languages. Same with real languages.

European History.

Once you study it you realize just how awesome it is. So many epic things happened in Europe. Its far more exciting and a broader range than American History. I find myself studying it outside of school more than I would in school anyways.

Completely agreed, I loved the heck out of reading about the French Revolution and Karl Marx. To say the least it was the easiest A I ever earned because I actually enjoyed the course. Western Civ is what it was called here.

Anyways.. I liked that and Calculus... because I actually understood it loads. I probably should of gone the Math route of my degree... but oh well I hate Trig.

Media is my favorite, you make and edit your films.I was a star in my school for that,I had the funniest videos. On topic,I love doing comedy films in media. My fav class made me a bit shy cuz I became popular.

Any philosophy or religion class for me. Mainly because by the end of the semester, every one hates me to death.

After that, any foreign language except Spanish.

AP Calculus AB (I'm taking BC this coming year) and Psychology have been my favorite classes in high school, but I like them both for two totally different reasons haha.

At first I really hated math. Then I grew to like it as I took more math classes. Going into calculus, I really liked math. When calculus arrived, I hated it. It was confusing, I thought my teacher sucked, and there was too much work involved. As time went on I started to really like my teacher, and eventually the class. It was still challenging, but I liked it for some odd reason. Math is therapeutic in a way. I'm highly anticipating Calculus BC this year :D

With psych, it was a complete waste of time. Our teacher didn't know anything about psychology, so you can imagine we did a lot of busy work out of the text book. In spite of the waste of time it was, our teacher had almost no control over the class, so we had like 7 people sitting at a tiny table. We were loud, obnoxious, and had an overall great time. All we pretty much did was skits to demonstrate certain topics. It was a great class, and I wish I could take it again.

My favorite class was English, in all my years, English was the best. I just loved to be able to write and everything, the teachers really got me in touch with my creative side, until this English teacher annoyed the hell out of me that I ended up hating his class. -_- We were writing poetry, I just wrote my opening line and he comes to my computer and stares at it for a while, "Okay, so how are you going to build on to that?" "Excuse me?" "Tell me, what are your intentions to building on to this line? How are you going to make the mood how are you going to really let me feel what you're trying to say?" Then he stared at me for a while, and I just said, "I can come up with things better by myself." Then another student called for his help, and I just said, "Thank God." -__- You just need to hear his voice and ugh...

But if art counts as a class, that also has to be my favorite. But I also hate the teacher. :P One thing I learned about high school art classes is: you only take art if your good at it. This other boy in my class wasn't exactly the best, and the teacher kept bugging him until he was on the verge of tears (although he does cry too much). It's the only class you don't have to study and cram for, I could just use my creativity and imagination, and all I need it a pencil and some paper and I'm all set.

Your teacher needs a slapping or two. I hate teachers who intimidate students through condescension. Teachers are supposed to motivate.
Fortunately I didn't encounter such teacher in the last 6 years of my life.

Computer class, it was the easiest one because i already knew everything and my teacher was this hippie guy who let us do whatever we wanted.

I actually miss my history and English classes. i was in honors for both of them all throughout high school. i always had cool teachers for this class, and everything just came so easy to me. I enjoy reading and learning about history more than reading books for english, but in english i love writing an essay and just feeling good about myself because i know it is good. english i always felt like i was pushing myself more and more and just made me a better person. ill always remember my senior year we had to write a poem and read it out loud to the class, and i worked pretty hard on it to make the rhyme scheme perfect. I was nervous when it came to presentation so i went up in front of the class and i read it super fast and one girl said "what the hell, were you rapping?" and that for some reason still jumps in my mind. got a 100 on it though.

Architecture studio is always pretty awesome. In it you develop interesting relationships with not just your fellow architecture majors but with the professors who guide you along the way. You have complete freedom to do whatever you want and during studio critiques you get feedback from everyone in the class plus whoever professional the professor decides to bring in.
