Chocobo breeding pains

I have played through FF7 several times on the psx, and despite the nausea with chocobo breeding have never had any serious problems...Now though, on the pc version of the game, i am finding it impossible to get a blue chocobo. I have at the moment great female, great male, good male and good female chocobos (as well as the green chocobo i managed on the first try), to make sure it wasnt a problem with the sexes,(all of them are A class except one S class by the way), and i must have tried 20 times with every permutation, and still have had no luck getting a blue chocobo. Unless i am doing something wrong, the chances of failing to get a blue 20 times in a row are astronomically small, so either im the unluckiest guy in the world, or theres something wrong with what im doing. Yes i am using a carob nut by the way...lol

Any ideas?
 
I never tried chocobo breeding, too tedious for me :lol:

But, this belongs in the help booth so I'll move it there.
 
The only flaw I can see in your method is the rank - it's advised in every guide under the sun that they should be rank S for a higher success rate. Luckily the ranks aren't hard to get through, especially considering you've already done most of the leg work.

Other than that there's no reason why you shouldn't get the Blue Chocobo. You're either incredibly unlucky or have found some random glitch or other.
 
Actually, as long as your Chocobos are A rank you'll be fine, but when you get a Gold Chocobo then yes they must be S rank But that's on the PS version...hmm...perhaps you need to keep trying...here this may help..

ive also had problems with chocobo breeding its taken so much time and money for me and ive got hardly anywhere. ive got both great chocobos up 2 class A and then i just keep getting a normal chocobo, ive tried getting thier stats higher but they dont seem to be getting any higher
