Well for some reason my controller cuts out when I play a certain game((Borderlands 2)) I play fine for like 15 minutes or so and then all of a sudden the lights on the controller die out and disconnects, I hit the PS Button and it reactivates but dies again after a few minutes.

NOW Before you say anything heres what I've done.

#1 . Hit the button on the back of the controller = Did not fix it

#2 . Connect it via USB + Hit the Button on the back of the Controller = Did not fix it

#3 . Battery is fully charged = Still Disconnects.

Now I was wondering if its the controller itself but no, I played a hour of 6-7 different games with no issues not one disconnect it only happens when I play borderlands 2, I have utterly no idea why its doing this any help would be nice :(

That is the strangest thing i have ever heard 8(

This is probably a question best looked for on google. Yahoo ask is very effective. How many times has this happened cuz it could just be coincidental that its happened with borderlands only? Do you have a 2nd controller you could try. Honestly from what i know it HAS to be a problem with the control. It makes no sense what so ever for the game disk to effect the controller. Theres maybe a loose part somewhere and its just like i said coincidental thats its happening with borderlands. I think try searching on google or going to yahoo ask.

If not maybe borrow a friends ps3 controller and see how that fares with it. Ive heard of some odd stuff but this is really weird. Id put all my money on it being the controller malfunctioning :hmmm:

Same here man, I've had no issues playing my other games with my controller but all of a sudden this has been happening when its fully charged and all.

Believe me I've been searching most of the time now trying to figure out whats going on, I read that Sixaxis controllers have shoddy connections so that may be my problem but I would assume this would happen on my other games as well not just when playing bl2, I went through my Game library to debunk it but nothing.

Played Persona 4 Arena for a hour no disconnects, Played RE6 fora hour no DC, Played DMC4 for 30 minutes no DC, played Prototype 2 for a hour no dc.

Honestly this is baffling, but I've come across so many bugs in BL2 so far it wouldn't surprise me if this was yet another although odd one.

Sadly I don't have a 2nd controller yet, since I never have anyone to play with here never have one unless my old one gets busted, I may have to crack down and buy a new one if this persists.

Do you have someone who you could borrow a controller from, or at least ask to stop by with one so you can test it? :hmmm:

Could save you some money but still narrow down the issue.

It's weird that it only happens with BL2, though. I don't think the game should have the permissions to do anything that would disconnect your controller.

do you have any other controllers you can try to use? It seems very strange...and this is the only game it does it to??? Try leaving the ps3 controller connected to the PS3 (charge it) while playing...see if that does anything.

It has to be a problem with the controller. Like i said in the Vms man if nothing else works open her up and send me close up pics of the inside.

Back in the day i remember ps3 controllers used to cost £40 but im sure theyre much cheaper now. Could probably pick one up now for around £20 or even one made by a third party. Ie not sony. But borrowing from a buddy is the best way to try for now. If it works be sneaky and give him back your old controller :wacky:

Shace Sexual Tyrannosaurus

I have one controller atm, no friends live close to me so sadly I'll have to buy one if it comes to it and I have left the cord on but it still DC's :(

And I'll send the photos later once I try it again

The only other thing I can recommend is try to change the battery yourself if you want... (involves taking apart the controller) one of my controllers had problems staying on for random games (it was never just one...but it was fighting games with lots of action and button smashing) and changing the battery seemed to help it.

That or try to completely reset the controller... (i know you've done it but try to make it so the PS3 wont even acknowledge it.)
