celestial weapons

The only celestrial weapon I don't have at full is Kamahris. I hate those stupid butterflys:eek:uttahere:, enough said. My fav celestrial weapons are Tidus, Aurons and Wakkas.

I was able to get all of them, however I had a really hard time trying to unlock them fully to their potential. Eventually I gave up and I stuck to the customization of my own weapons (which were equally as good as the final ones).

Perhaps I should give it another try.

Oddly, I find Lulu's lightning dodge game incredibly relaxing. You just have to find a spot in the Thunder Plains where the flashes are fairly regular.

At the end of the slot just north of the Agency works well. Wait, flash, dodge. Take a step forward to compensate for being knocked back. Rinse and repeat. An occasional encounter to keep you fresh -- then just make sure, before you hit X at the end of the "collecting loot" screen, you take a deep breath to get ready for the next flash.

Instead of counting to 200, I count up to 50, then start again. Count up to 50, then start again. When I get to 100 the second time, I start at 100 and count DOWN. It's a very psychological game, almost entirely dependent on being relaxed. The last few play throughs I've gotten it in about 15 minutes, first try.

Whereas Kimahri's gives me fits.

I used to enjoy Wakka's, because I like blitzball, but lately I've been impatient and tend to save the game at the end of each season, or before each tournament, and hit Restart if I don't see the Reels or Sigil being listed as a prize.

The only thing in ALL of FFX I have never done (besides the Dark Aeons; I wish I could get an international version) is beat the Chocobo race. I've maxed out sphere grids on plenty of play throughs, maxed out characters' stats, and seen every last line of dialog from every NPC by now, but I'm down to 3.4 seconds on the race, and there I'm stuck.

Grumph.

The only ones I ever fully powered were the Nirvana, the Godhand, and the Masumune. I partially powered the Onion Knight and the Cadalblog.

Tidus' was just too freakin hard :gasp: I must have done the chocobo race 100 times all together, and I never won. Getting it down to zero seconds just blows my mind.. I know it's possible, but I just don't have the patience to do it.

As for the lightning dodging, I never tried it. I might the next time I play the game, but I doubt it. That takes even more patience than the chocobo racing :gasp:

Kimahri's was really hard too. When I first heard that all you had to do was catch butterflys, I thought "piece of cake!" Boy was I wrong.. I lost at that one too

I never tried to get Wakka's either. Blitzball and me really don't agree with each other..

So I've come to the conclusion that I completely suck when it comes to getting the ultimate weapons. I've gotten all of the easy ones fully powered, but I doubt I'll every get Tidus', Lulu's, Kimahri's, or Waaka's.

Oh I guess I'm the only one who thinks that the Chocobo racing is easy. I got it on my, err. 3rd attempt I guess. And the 2nd wasn't was less than a second away from 0.0.0.

Nirava is also easy to get. Time consuming but not as time consuming as the other ones. And you nee those aeons anyway.

Godhand is also easy to get if you have a walkthrough. It might be quite painful to try to find the cactuars all by yourself.

World Champion - I actually planned to get this one but after one tournament and one league I just wanted to cry so hard. It was so boring and with Wedge, Tidus, Brother, Ropp, Jumal etc. It was impossible, IMPOSSIBLE, to lose a game.

I haven't done the butterfly minigame since FFX was first released in Europe, but iirc it wasn't so bad.

Masamune is also easy to get, you have to hunt those monsters anyway to get to the special monsters.

Who am I missing.. Lulu? Well, lightning dodge, no comment.

well this fool here forget to get the sun crest after defeating yunalesca now i am stuck as i cannot defeat dark bahamut at the moment, the only probable way i can think of is aquring yojimbo and trying to that way but i doubt it will work any advice?

however as cocky as it souinds i did manage to get the sun sigil first time round on the chocobo but i did struggle on the last training excercise.

If Dark Bahamut is there, and you haven't yet got Yojimbo, then if you're planning to go get Yojimbo then you're more than likely going to run into Dark Yojimbo aswell. Unless you get to the save crystal before he attacks (I can't remember) so be prepared for that just incase.

Dark Yojimbo is avoidable if you use the teleport panel on the floor. :P

Hmm, weapons xD

I have fully powered Tidus, Lulu's and Auron's. I have the crests for Wakka's, Yuna's and Rikku's.

Tidus's was by far the msot frustrating, but in the end, it's all down to pure luck. Not much can be said about that other than just get as many balloons as you can and avoid as many birds as you can. In the end, it'll come.

Lulu's was rather fun, and for me, was the most rewarding, since at the moment her and Yuna are the only ones who can hit for 9999. Auron could do that with a critical, but he rarely got a critical anyway. But now that I've replaced his "strength + 3% and 5%" slotted weapon with the Masamune he can no longer hit over 5000 on a normal attack anymore.

I plan to beat all Dark Aeons legitimatly without Yojimbo except from Shiva, since she has had the misfortune of standing in the way of me getting Yuna's Nirvana to it's full potential!

Good point, completely forgot about those lol.

I enjoyed getting the Caladbolg for some reason, didn't take me that long on the chocobo either my first time, 5/6 tries something like that.

Onion Knight annoyed me, but grit my teeth through it.

I didn't fully power World Champion, Spirit Lance or Godhand, because I'm not all that good at Blitzball, the butterflies annoyed me and the cactuar game annoyed me lol.

Obtaining the Sun Sigil really isn't as difficult as most say. On my 4th attempt (on my latest playthrough) I acquired 15 balloons and was hit by 1 bird. Blitzball is possibly the easiest mini-game; all that's required is to level Tidus above everyone else - Jecht Shot esures victory.

As for your difficulty against Dark Shiva, a simple way of defeating it would be as follows: Learn Entrust with all three characters, use Attack Reels with Wakka, summon Anima - use Oblivion, entrust Auron's overdrive to Yuna's, hope Dark Shiva attacks someone other than Yuna, grand summon Anima, then use Oblivion one last time. I'm assuming your Aeons are well trained. (Anima's individual hits must deal at least 50,000 damage) All three characters must have First Strike; whilst Wakka dealing at least 9999 damage.

I don't have Anima. :P That's why I'm going back to Macalania temple: to get the Destruction Sphere I missed.

Then you'll have to do it the long way, and train Wakka or Tidus up to 200+ Str. Blitz Ace and Attack Reels should finish her off. Even Deathproof armour doesn't protect against her Heavenly Strike.

Incidentally, what are your current stats?

i found the chocobo race really easy, i did it on the 2nd try. the way i did it was, when you see a bird/s coming towards you, turn to the left or right and keep on going until the birds have gone passed then continue getting the balloons. i didnt get hit once and i got 13 balloons.
i never use the caladbolg beceause i use the ascalon, seeing as its got the double AP skill on it and all..

I hate the mini games. I like them but geez, The chocobo race is just too hard and The butterfly game just plays with you like your dumb.
