I did not see a thread about this and I am actually quite shocked.

Destiny has been in development since the end of Halo 3 and slowly but surely it is starting to finally reveal itself.

The art is just really beautiful and after watching the GDC presentation a few hours ago, I could tell that Bungie are extremely dedicated to their new game. This will be even bigger than halo and I absolutely cannot wait. I think this is my most anticipated game now. It is really determined to turn the tides of the FPS genre and become something huge. Bungie already confirmed it will be lasting as a saga for the next 10 years so we can expect it to last a really long time. I will most likely get it on next generation consoles as I do not see the point of going current gen when it is almost over. Destiny will not be coming to PC. I am afraid PC lovers have to live without it on PC. Bungie are one of my favourite an best developers world wide and I cannot see this being a disappointment. The only thing that is disappointing right now is the fact you need to always be online for Destiny to work. It is not fair to others who have slow internet, and if I decide to play this at University or something... my internet better be fast.

Bungie have confirmed that their are 3 main playable races and that excites me. I hate always having to play as a human and I am glad I can play as a "space wizard" which is really cool. Customization will be extremely heavy and detailed. I also like to have more than one enemy unlike Halo when there was pretty much just the Covenant and later the forerunners. Here there are like 6-7 races of enemies which is awesome. Some of those guns look fantastic and wicked. The Fallen have to be one of the coolest baddies I have ever seen. 4 arms, so they can pretty much wield 4 guns or swords haha. That character development video was really cool. I can see Destiny being my "go to" game to play with friends and have so much fun. I will not even be surprised if it is out before FF Versus XIII.

Surely I cannot be the only one excited for Destiny? Roll on 2014.

I have always loved Mages but The Fallen looks amazing hmmm. F2P right?
Also its third person view not FP?

We'll see how this game works out. On paper its quite ambitious but how will it pan out in practice.

Destiny is not an MMO. It is classified as a huge world shooter. Everything is connected. It is all up to you and what you want to jump into. Story is online as well and you will meet people along the way, if you are the mp type, it looks like you can jump straight into Faction wars etc. Yeah it is free to play! Oh and this is the first time ever Playstation users will be getting a Bungie game on Playstation. Take this as a very good opportunity to immerse yourselves into Bungie and their incredible minds. It is a FPS not TPS. I think this game is causing too much hype now

I think I will be using an Awoken. They seem the most mage heavy. Out of the 3 classes revealed so far Titan, Warlock, and Hunter... Warlock can use magic. You can see why I would be going as an Awoken warlock.

All this being said I hope some of the enemies are playable. The Fallen look badass.

By the way those appear to be the default look of the races so do not worry. You can make them much more cool. Of course, human is not limited to just Female.

IM SOOOO GLAD it will be FPS!

But damn....females are nice...the fallen...EXO.pff so many options...mages

Destiny: Bungie discusses co-op involvement, player choices


Destiny developer Bungie has stressed that when playing co-op, your team-mates won’t be pushed to the side during cinematic scenes like in Halo. You’ll all be given star billing. There will also be an emphasis on choices as you play.



Speaking with IGN, design director Joe Staten said of Destiny’s co-op, “In the same way we’re making your heroic story, your legend, that carries over into the cinematics. You’re the star of the cinematics as much as you’re the star of your own heroic tale.


“So if you’re playing in a co-op way, we’re not going to do that crappy thing that happened in the old Halo games where, if you’re playing co-op, you don’t show up…you’re not the primary role.”


Destiny will surpass Bungie’s Halo games in a co-op regard, but also in making players feel more involved thanks to pivotal decisions about who your character is and what they do. “Putting a history into the world was extremely important,” Staten continued, “something you felt you were fighting for, the civilization that was once yours that’s fallen, that’s trying to recover.


“But it also goes to player choice, too, and not just choices you’d get in a Halo game, the moment to moment of how I’m going to take apart this encounter, what’s my combat toolset? What kind of character do I want to be in the world? Do I want to be a man or do I want to be a woman? That’s a choice we never gave someone in the Halo games.”

More Destiny news. Wow, this sounds really amazing from the looks of it. Co-op will be incredibly fun. They seem totally dedicated to making Destiny phenomenal in every category. I am so excited for E3 as Bungie confirmed they would be there. Cannot wait to see some gameplay.

Destiny has finally been unveiled and looks more awesome than ever.

Bungie and Activision have just delivered the first gameplay reveal of Destiny and some neat new screenshots.

Destiny will be on current gen platforms and next gen.

This game looks absolutely phenomenal and I really see it becoming something massive. The gameplay looks so fun. This is only one mission also! They have not showed off competitive multiplayer yet, but this was a first glimpse at how the game plays.

I can finally update this thread now.

News for this game sure takes awhile to arrive....

Bungie released a new ViDoc(Out here in the wild) of Destiny at Gamescom today that shows off more of Bungie's huge world.

The Video goes through more of the player's freedom, customization, guns, and even abilities. The video also shows a glimpse at what the competitive multiplayer in Destiny will be like.

It is confirmed that you can carry three weapons at once.

This new video was fantastic. I am really excited for this game and I cannot wait to see more. I mostly want to see more of the competitive multiplayer.

There is so much to do in this game! I am glad we have those speed bikes(think star wars) and ships to get us around this huge world. We can travel to pretty much anywhere in the solar system.
