Seriously, either everyone has no sense of humour or they're just repeating what everyone else says in regards to the funniness of the movie, so that they don't feel like outsiders for stating their own opinion.

This movie is shit.

I can not believe the hype it got and how many people told me it was funny.

Steve and I watched it tonight and were waiting pretty much the entire time for it to start to get funny.

There were a couple of funny scenes but the rest of it was complete crap. The only funny scenes it had were stuck in the trailer as well, so that it sucks you into thinking it's going to be awesome for the whole movie.

No where near funnier than The Hangover. I must find the idiot who said so and give them a good slap. :hmmm:

I didn't even like the look of this movie from the trailer. It looked a little cliché and hyperactive. >_<

They often seem to put the best bits in trailers, particularly when the majority of the movie is severely lacking in quality. One Day has a trailer that's severely misleading. :hmph: This happens with games, too, actually. I've seen trailers for TERRIBLE games which provide a taste of the most intense scenes, often those with the best graphics, and fit small amounts of gameplay in with catchy music.

So... Going back to the movie itself, was it poor because of the script, the acting, or both?

Couldn't disagree more, I really enjoyed it. It's nothing majorly game-changing but it has characters I could actually sympathise with, an actually believeable friendship between Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph's characters (contrast with the dreadful Sex and the City movies) and Jon Hamm sending himself up somewhat.

And it's much better than The Hangover!

Hmm, I was gonna watch it. I suppose I will just to see which opinion is true. :hmmm: I was hoping this would be like a girl version of the Hangover. :gonk: (I love that film :lew:)

I actually laughed until I cried in the theatre at some points :lew:

I think it's all about what your brand of humor is...and whether or not a movie is on par with what you consider funny.

I will admit they kind of went overboard with the humor though. Some parts were pretty predictable as well.

I thought the girl with the blonde hair who was the main did a really good job. She was hilarious...and I'm so glad she branched out from her bitchy role in Knocked Up :lew:
