Help blitzball

I believe it gets You wakkas ultimate weapon + limit break... Many claim Wakka has the best limit break in the game so a lot of people play it.. I however think its unnecessary as there are other ways to tackle arena monsters quickly besides the almighty "attack reels"
 
As MasterVivi says, its the only way to get Wakkas Ultimate weapon (world Champion), limit breaks and the sigil to power up the ultimate weapon. But if you are very unlucky like me :mad: it takes forever to get the limit breaks (which you have to acquire befor you can get the sigil), because the limit breaks and sigis appear as prizes, for winning a tournament, but the prises arerandomly generated, so if the prize isint a limit break, you just cancel until the prize you want appears...WHICH IS NEVER FOR ME!! I have been doing it for 5 hours in total, only to get 1 of the limit breaks.

Also befor you can aquire status reels and auroucs reels you have to have fought with Wakka in 250 and 450 fights...SEE HERE See this thread for some advice and good players.

I had a pretty decent team (would usually win by 9 - 11 goals). However it gets boring very quickly so what I would usually do is score 1 goal then set the formation to defensive, get the ball and swim right back into my own goal, the computer won't follow. I would then watch tv, then repeat for the second half :). If I could be bothered I would throw passes between my defenders as they gain ap. Personally I really like Wakka's (perfect) attack reels as the cause heaps of damage which I found useful for gathering stat raising spheres (I raised all my stats to 255 except evasion and accuracy as luck takes care of that + 99,999 hp).
 
I really have trouble with Blitzball- I'm just coming up to the bit where I have to play at Luca again, and I dread it. I never win. I just don't think I get it. I find it really difficult because I think I've got the hang of it, then they do something that I don't understand- I'm never sure why something is happening...
 
It's worth it, if only for wakkas weapon/attack reels. If the rewards were just shit like spheres and weapons, there's no way Id ever bother ever again, I hate it.

So, unless you enjoy it, only bother if you are going to use wakka/collect all the celestial weps

P.S. Wakka is worth it
 
I think it is worth it. Attack reels make the game easier. Its not necessary but it is good for completion. Can anyone tell me wth is blitzball worth in FFx-2
 
Blitzball in my opinion is addictive xD.
Ive spent plenty of time pointlessly playing it even after gaining Wakka's items etc.
I guess it probably helps that I dont have a perfect team so I have to actually think about how im playing the ball about etc. :P
So all in all Blitzball is definently one of the most worthwhile things other than the story of FFX.
 
Blitzball is actually my favorite mini-game, but it is worth playing asides the hours of endless fun i have with an awesome team that munches the other teams at least 4 or 5 - 0, if you have Jecht Shot then the games become easier to win, you can just pass to Tidus (or whatever you called him) and have him swim to the goal and use the awesome jecht shot.

but the only other reason for playing Blitzball (asides the fun) is if Wakka plays a main role in your battles, i personally used Wakka alot, but because i played blitzball alot to, it didn't really matter as i always had the amount of battles to get the items and Overdrives and what not.

but for those who don't use Wakka in their main party and who don't enjoy blitzball then there isn't really much point in playing blitzball.
