Sorry, can't help you. I'm also in a league, but I'm winning. I've won 3 leagues and 5 tournaments with the original team members. sorry!

the only thing that I can tell you is that allow everyone to control the ball other than your best player since it increases thier experience. I had won 12 leagues and 32 tournaments and my record was 95/7/12. so yah just lt everyone a chance to control the ball. that is how all my characters from the origional team are at lvl 99.
Well my team is doing pretty decent now. Currently my record in the league is 4/0/3. I've found Wedge to be very good as a forward as he's my teams top scorer in the league. My keeper is newb though with a catch of only 9

Brother is very good, and I will have to look at my book to give ya the others! all of the Al Bhed players have great potential, but are hard to get cuz the team usually re-signs their contracts.
You should go for Wedge and Naida. Wedge is somewhere I can't remember but he has like a bagget or whatever those italian hats are called. And Naida is in the Calm lands central store thing (it's really more to the left).

You have to get Nimrook, he is the goalie for the Al Bhed. I think he is on the airship along with the other players. He is the best goalie in the game.
Also Ropp is a very good player...but I don't remember where you get him.

well you could always use Wakka again when you get the airship, then you could use the Aurochs something, its an ultimate attack that you need all the original aruochs to use

Wedge: a great FW, he should be one of the guards behind the booth if i'm not mistaken, in luca(the booth where you can enter blitzball near the savesphere in luca)
Tidus(duh): he can't be kicked, but he's pretty much the best FW you can have, as he doesn't cost any money to hire, and his skills are great, and jecht shot is an invalueable skill, you'll understand when you get higher into the game
Brother: a good central midfielder, very all round in all 3 aspects(offence, midfield, defence) making him an excellent midfielder, he's in the airship, i think he's somewhere behind cid, think he's the main pilot of the ship, not sure, been a while
the standard defenders should do fine, they're not too important
a guy of who i forgot the name, he's a goalie, he can be found in luca, on the central court with the big fountain in the middle, he's on a bench with his girlfriend, best starting goalie...
that should be a strong basic team for starters
you can also use Wakka instead of Wedge, but Wedge has better starting stats, Wakka's offensive stats come as he levels up, while Wedge's offensive stats slack at a point, where he actually becomes a goalie after a while
when you advance into the game, i suggest looking out for al bhed players, these players are extremely good, and their goalie is the best in-game, and their team is very all-round, however, tidus and brother are practicly un-replaceable
additionally, Keepa, the standard goalie of the aurochs, also develops his skills over time, basicly, all aurochs do, they're slackers, but their potential is very decent, they just take time and training, the goalie i told of has 16 Catching standard if i'm not mistaken, making him an excellect goalie, so i suggest getting him, but keepa will do fine as well, he just takes time to get him skills

ill help
im new here and i kno i prob wont get much respect, but a good player that i havnt seen anyone suggest is wakka....u can play with him again after u progress far enough in the actual game.
after further investigation i realized that someone else suggested that idea..sry again

Tidus, Brother, Naida, some small Guado dude who is freak'n awesome as my Goalie, and my last defender is...ah crap I can't even remember. It's been forever. Only lost one game which was the Luca Goers maditory one. Record stands at 102-1-1

I cant remember the number but I dont think its that many. I think its sommat lik 10 or around that. It kept annoying me when I wanted to sign a decent player but there were too many people in squad so i had to swap them around.
