Good news fans! It looks like the hype train for Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep continues to roll well after release! Birth by Sleep continues to rank number one on Amazon.jp when it comes to sales in the Video Games Category, which is quite excellent.

Even more surprising however, are the remarkable user reviews - Birth by Sleep has recieved mostly five star reviews. Compared with Square Enix' other top releases: both Dragon Quest IX and Final Fantasy XIII, which had extremely low aggregate review scores, this is outstanding. It looks like Birth by Sleep is a fan favorite!

Furthermore, information is circulating that Birth by Sleep is pretty much sold out around Japan, in fact, many people are having trouble finding copies. Let's hope another shipment is on its way to gaming stores soon!

Good to see its going on strong over there. Can't wait to see the chaos over here in a few months. I may have to even camp out again -__-

Cant wait to have the case in my hands and finally experience the game :awesome:

Lol. I'd hate to camp out for a game, I'd be the one to get mugged or something. :wacky: I'm not surprised it's selling well mind, it got fantastic ratings from Famitsu (which I do think the Japanese take seriously) which the 37/40 made it the highest rated PSP game.

Nomura should make all games. :awesome:

Sweet. I've had high hopes for BbS for a long time now. I think I've been looking forward to that game more than FFXIII.

Now just give the West and Europe a release date, please Dx

I am guessing some day in July at the most. The release dates in Japan and here are usually very far apart :sad3:

I am hoping some miracle happens and a March release date comes to suprise us. I get the moneys to buy it then and waiting till after it comes may be too late :thehell:

Well it wont sell well in the US because of all the damn pirates. Honestly, if so many people werent pirating the games for the PSP, they would sell WAY better. That's what is killing the system. Its honestly a great handheld. Just being ruined by hackers.

There's always Kingdom Hearts to please everyone I guess. Thank goodness Birth by Sleep isn't dividing people up like FFXIII and DQIX did. Out of the three it has the lowest Famitsu score, but ironically so far it's the game with no real issues at the moment yet.

This is a good indication that Nomura is still SE's saviour. If possible, he should march into Wada's office and de-throne him. Out of everyone else in SE, I have the biggest confidence in Nomura. I doubt he's perfect, but he's more perfect than many other high-up SE employees nowadays.

I'm hoping it's released soon after the Japanese release, especially when you look at FFXIII and that it's only take 2-3 months between the Japanese and English release but is much larger and would naturally take longer to localise. I'm hoping for 1-2 months localisation time, max. :hmmm:

That's what I'm hoping for as well. Dissidia took about 9 months to get localized, but hopefully BbS follows the FFXIII speed.

Although that's assuming they had been planning the localization while the game was in production - as they did with FFXIII :hmmm:

Why do you say this? Is the pirating situation much better in Japan? The DS has its (rather large) share of rampant pirating as well (with a custom OS made by a japanese team, i believe...correct me if i'm wrong). I agree that pirating is a plague, but then so is overpricing (and this was even before the PSP hacking took off mind you), DRM, Rootkits, and attempts to force a proprietary format down the throats of people who don't want to use it. There's always more than one POV.

this news is fantastic. i can't wait to play BbS once its released...i hope i can find a copy. i've been following this game ever since i saw the trailer with the three knights and the wizard. they look completely badass, compared to sora...(must be the helmets).

i would think one reason for BbS not disrupting the fanbase is that it doesn't hold the nostalgic pedigree of the FF series. you don't see KH1 veterans harping about 'oh it isn't like the good old days' (as much) as you do FFVI, VII-IX, and X vets complaining left and right about whatever FF title comes their way just because they don't like how it's changed.
