It's an excellent place for levelling up. Every 20th cloister you get to fight a boss, not any kind of boss though. People that have died in X were recreated by the pyreflies and emerged once again.

But what was it originally used for? Where did those pyreflies come from?
All I know is nothing.

In FFX it was used as a place to throw people n and let them rot in it... Yuna & Co. where in it and then you had to battle Isaaru...it was kinda dumb and the whole place changed...

No it's a completely different place than the one in X. Via Purifico was in X, in X-2 it's the Via Infinito.

I've never botherd to get to the very end so I don't know if there was an explanation of its purpose. All I can think of is its where Yevon would store it's secrets (for example, Crimson Sphere's), to be guarded by angry souls of important Yevonites.

It was the place were u had to fight Undead Evrea (i think it's called?).

But like everyone else said, it was a very nice place to lvl up. I remember getting 100% in white mage for yuna in only bout' a hour and a half :).

i think that the underground laberynth like place under bevelle was just a place for Uber strong monsters to chill out, similar to the Omega dungeon in FFX it's just a place to go, kill some beasties and level up like mad

Why the hell does everyone like this place? It's taken me three days just to get down to the 60th floor--and the bitch keeps tossing in mutated tonberries to shank the sheisse out of my characters. I've died about six thousand times.

-__- Srsly. Screw the Via Infinito.
