My mum told me today that my PS3 for christmas has arrived but she hasn't bought me any games with it. But other people said they'd buy me any that I want. Because I only really play RPGs, which ones would you guys recommend?

Well, as of right now i'd suggest stuff like Oblivion and Enchanted Arms, in a few months time we'll have stuff like Star Ocean The Last Hour, we MIGHT have FF13 before the end of the year so that's a possibility too. Not much else I can think of :gonk:

One of my friends recommended Oblivion to me, so there's a possibility there. I'll just have to look about haha!
and after reading online the Japanese will have FFXIII by like the 17th of next month and then we have to wait till April-June.
It makes me sad D:

Yeah, but there's some recent news saying it's a possibility we'll have it before the end of the year, so who knows?

Also, there's an older RPG on PS3 which I dunno if you'd be interested in, called 'Folklore' the demo was interesting enough but I never got around to buying the game O_O

Also, Tales of Vesperia might be released sometime next year too which has more stuff than the Xbox version :awesome:

Valkyria Chronicles is pretty good, last i checked its 20 bucks now.

Folklore is a pretty decent RPG but if you don't like collecting souls or just collecting things in general to use attack, defend, etc then just skip this game.

The ones .Squall mentioned are worth a look too, i can't think of more but when i do i will edit this post.

I hope to hell that we have it by the end of the year, i can only play through the others a certain amount of times!
I'll definitely have a look at all of these online and find people i know that have it and give myself a wee play of it at theirs or something.
Thanks for the suggestions and such :-)

You can try out Fallout 3 too if you're able to. I know it's more of a FPS-like experience, but technically it is RPG at heart, especially as it's made by Bethesda- who made Oblivion.

Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice is a brilliant game that has as much humour as in previous Disgaea games.

Or you can try Eternal Sonata, which is a port of the Xbox 360 game. I haven't played it myself, but the graphics look tremendous and colourful.

I'm not keen on FPS, because I fail so badly at them but I think a friend of mine has it so it might be worth a look!

I played the first Disgea and loved it, so there's another one I can look at.

I like the sound of Eternal Sonata, just due to the music reference in the title! thank you for the suggestions :-)

Valkyria Chronicles is amazing, it's definitely an under-rated little gem of a game. Eternal Sonata is pretty good too, although the story gets slightly wtf-ish.

Dragon Age : Origins is supposed to be pretty good too, and I suppose there is Marvel : Ultimate Alliance 2 if you like action RPGs. But the vast bulk of PS3 RPGs seem to be coming in early 2010, rather than Christmas :hmmm:

well, I'll probably get myself one or two of the ones people have mentioned and any other ones that come out after I can just buy myself when they come out.

You would kind of think that if a game was scheduled to be out early in the start of the year, that the developers would give themselves more of a push in time for christmas. I mean, think of the sales!

Oblivion - Great game, very epic, brilliant storyline, MASSIVE environment, great fun.

Eternal Sonata - Interesting game, nice story, Beautiful graphics. The interesting thing about it is that it is based around classicaly music (I think). I would definetly buy this:D

I'm also going to support Valkyria Chronicles and Eternal Sonata. Valkyria Chronicles is good for your strategy fix (and I think there's going to be a sequel on the PSP sometime next year). Eternal Sonata is really pretty, even though the battles can get a little repetitive at points.

Well I enjoy games like little big planet but you want rpg games so I would go with something like FFXIII but that's when it comes out so I would just get a good fps while you wait.

Hey guys.
I have Oblivion scrolls ITS ADDICTIVE be warned!! I found that out when darling Partner and I are fighting ova whos turn it is ;-)

Be sure to get the Plantium Version as its got the shrivering ilses included!

I am also in need of a Game on ps3 thats already out to cure my hunger for power and fantasy games...

The only 2 i know is dragon age (which i found out about that yesterday) and Oblivion. :busta:
