Hey pepl i jst wanna know and talk about the best abilities for armours in FFX, and if anyone can tell me how to get auto haste easily without facing hundreds of cactuars in the bikanel desert?
 
catch 1 of each monster on the thunder plains to get 99 chocobo wings from the old dude at the monster arena, other than that steal from cactuars at bikanel with master thief armor
 
The Best Armour Is The Kind That I Made With Blessing Of The Armax I Was Able To Mix And Match All Kinds Of Stuff Into Places It Was Not Supposed To Be For All The Characters And Their Performance Went Through The Roof With The Balance Of Statistic I Made With Power Speed Defense Stats It Left Room Open For The Cooler Abilties
 
Me I just use auto-phonix and keep a stock of phionex downs handy and that has me set aganist most foes.

Well that and all my characters stats are trough the roof.
 
The best all round armour is:
Break Hp Limit
Auto-Protect
Auto-Phoenix
Ribbon

Although in certain situations, the abilities vary. Generally against Dark Aeons.
 
i have to agree with gabranth on most points here asides i normally used Auto haste instead of Ribbon
 
Break HP Limit armour is HIGHLY OVERRATED. It is a waste of an armour slot, which you can use for much more practical things.

The reason I say this is because there is no attack that breaks the damage limit and hits all characters that cannot be avoided, predicted, or blocked. In short, you can easily do without it just by simply watching the ATB bar

I only ever used Ribbon against the Dark Magus Sisters, other than that its a very useless ability, since other 'lesser' abilities can fill the role much easier and you don't have to spend weeks killing Arena Monsters or Dark Yojimbo for 99 of them.

Useful abilities however, include Auto-Haste, Auto-Phoenix, Auto-Potion, Auto-Protect, and perhaps Auto-Regen. Certain enemies require use of certain abilities, for instance Stoneproof for Dark Bahamut, or Curseproof for some of the Arena Monsters.

I thought ribbon was essential, Dark Bahamut used to kill off all my guys with Impulse, turn them to stone one at a time and then shatter them one by one before I had chance to cure them... I don't think it was impulse actually but he does a stinking attack that petrifies you :gasp:

And it totally bypasses stone-proof, I tried that bugger

I think I have a mix of abilities on my characters, I know Aurons the only one that has auto phoenix anyway...works for me, so long as I can keep him alive :monster:

I think I'd be screwed with out break HP aswel, that's saved my arse on more than one occassion

Auto haste I'd say was essential, sadly none of my dudes have it, damn full slots. I wouldn't say protect was really essential though. If your stats are maxed out you shouldn't really need it....
