I have completed almost every power stations and sigils. Still missing two of them.

Do I have to complete all of them to join commerads?

I can never find a lobby

Final Fantasy XV's Comrades is a Seperate Download off your console store - You have to have Season Pass 1 to access it!

It was previous on the FFXV's Main Menu, but the seperated it recently - Now at least you don't haevto insert the FFXV disc to access it:

I believe that the Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition includes Comrades with the base game. I don't think there is a standalone version for PC at the moment.

I would imagine that Comrades should appear on the main menu somewhere.

However, if I'm interpreting the problem correctly, you are struggling to connect with online friends? Or do you mean any player in general? Joining with people you actually know can be a bit of a pain in this game as one of you has to create a lobby for a particular map and then coordinate with said friend which map they should click on to be able to even see the lobbies... Then they have to pick the correct one before it times out or a load of randomers join and take up the slots. You can password protect them, I think, but then you'd have to communicate that to people too.

I haven't played Comrades in ages though, so maybe they have made it more user friendly now. If not, that might be contributing to your problem.

Thanks.

I'm actually trying to join general online players, not party games with friends.
The comerads section is indeed on the menu and this is where I complete quests and try to play online.
Am I missing anything else here?

I can't remember if you have to restore power to a certain location in Lestallum before you can join other players, but it should be very early on in the game.

When you join missions, do you have options for 'quick play' or 'custom play'? To be certain you can see various lobbies, click 'custom' and join one you can.

Yes I do indeed have all of the options, and Quick Play never actually find any players...

BTW, I am choosing to Downloadable content - Multiplayer expansion: commerads to play.
Should I choose anything else?

So long as everything is okay with your internet connection, that should be fine.

The other possibility is that there might not be many people playing on PC, and therefore the servers might be empty. I'm not sure if the servers are shared cross-platform. If they aren't, then it might simply be that there aren't enough players playing for you to see them. Since you have to select your mission before you seek a party (again, unless that has changed), that means someone else needs to have clicked on that same mission and created a new camp/group for you to join only a minute or so before you. That's a very narrow window of opportunity for you to meet people.

The system would work better if you could create a party before choosing the mission, but I'm not sure if that is possible.

I see. Figured this game might be more active. Is there a way to check the player base across regiobs or platform?

And by the way how about FF XIV? Will it have a larger player base?

Whenever I've gone on the missions, I've just brought AI companions. It's a weird game as the progression is built on the Power (Experience) you get from the battles... but the later battles don't offer much more experience. I've just been replaying the same Level 3 Mission which is a breeze again and again to progress. I did unlock A Mission recently where I played as all the Main game crew which was difficult... got barely anything for beating it too... I'm really just playing this to see the unique FFXV content it has, even if minimal, it's something I jump on when I have an hours time to kill.

I've you want a more engaging Online experience Final Fantasy XIV seems to offer that - Thought I believe it is subscription based, which is what has put me off for many years. I think you can play the base game for free up to level 50 though - Something I remember being implemented a while back, not sure if it was temporary though.

FFXIV is way more active than FFXV's online mode. You'll never fail to bump into people on it. The only difficulties you may face would be trying to find a party for a particular dungeon if it isn't a very popular one, but at least this game lets you wait for others to join you and you can do other things while you wait. Or, you can make friends on the game and join clans (Free Companies) which makes forming groups for dungeons a lot easier.

Speaking of that, if you fancied joining the Lamia server on FFXIV that's where a lot of Final Fantasy Forums members are and quite a lot of people are playing again now. You'd be welcome to join them!

I sensed the mentioned of FFXIV here and I was right. You’re more than welcome to join us on Lamia. A few new people are joining us soon as well! I just got back a few days ago after a few years break, so I feel like I’m relearning as a newbie.

I’m just idly dying everywhere but enjoying my time in the process. 😅

Haha i know what you mean. I got to quite a high lvl with some lvl 99 weapons, but still struggling with few of the Defense quests

Quick Play is your best bet but its best to account for peak times. The weekends during the day are pretty good for pug co-op. The Departure mission is pretty much just to earn the boys customization options (theres some rare weapon drops too). Unfortunately Comrades suffers in that its co op mode is a lot like Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors 4 in that there is no central lobby where you can congregate and choose missions. You have to know what mission you're doing as a group before hand and have one person to make the lobby etc... I've been grinding for all the great new outfits. I hope you're still able to enjoy it. Even just one friend playing with you for a couple hours can get you passed missions 10 levels above your own. Hope that helps. (Also FFXIV is a completely different kettle of fish--its a true MMO. They were going to make 15 into that but... Things happened. T-T)

I would recommend being 10 to 20 levels above a Defense quest before attempting it. Unless your extremely OP the AI just doesnt really help you out much there. Also yeah. If you're on console make sure you're using the standalone version. Its a much smoother ride (loading times and such). Steam might have it if they've made it for PC. The old in game version no longer works at all for ps4 users.
