Have you seen what can happen to you in a house?
Fire,flood, storms show little respect for house.

I think it is just the general level of security people feel in their own homes.


They are free from social anxieties, and are back in their own world. They are also safe (the majority of the time) from mad axmen who could be after every one of us out on the street, but wouldn't be in our houses when we get home.

Accidents can happen wherever you are, so a home isn't an impenetrable fortress, but it is certainly a much safer place for a lot of people.
