Help Any tips for the chocobo race

I'm really fed up with it right now. Last time I got a 1 second time!!!! So so close but I couldn't get any better. Today I try and got 3.something but I kept hitting those damn birds. And why do these over sized chickens wanna go in the opposite direction you tell them (left instead of right, right instead of left). I think i'd rather do a 400 lightning bolt challenge then this right now.
 
i found this really easy

just avoid the birds and get the baloons or whatever they are. its been a while so i forget. Theres no cheat way to beat it. You just gotta make sure you pretty much get a perfect run.
 
Yeah, pretty much what Lew said. There's honestly no other way to beat this but trial and error. I think I sat for about 2 1/2 hours at this until I finally got the 0.0.0 time. Before then my closest was 0.0.3 :hmph: Just keep trying and good luck.
 
Don't focus on getting the ballons, but focus on avoiding the birds...make sure when you try to turn left of the birds, that you REALLY DO TURN LEFT, dont just turn left for one angle, but run west (press the left button 3-4 times), if you know what i mean, dont worry about your opponent, he/she is not the problem..those birds are the problem...that way you make sure you avoid almost all the birds (I did :cookie: )

In order to get the time down to zero second's you must collect as many balloon's as possible and a good start always helps so when the balloon's are all on the right when you start try and get them all but when there on the trainer's side you should restart the race. Try and be ahead of the trainer at all time's better chance of getting balloon's this way. The only thing I can say about the birds is as they are about to hit you change direction at the last second and you might avoid them it worked for me so you might be lucky.
