Any news on the PS3 release date?

Hey... have been reaserching on sites nd stuff but cant seem to find any info on the subject...
i know it might still be in the mistery zone and square might have not posted an official date for the release on the PS3, but i was hoping if anyone knows anything about it or if theres any news I havent found yet.

the wating is killing me.... as you can easily see >.<
 
Only guesses at the moment. They're basically using the PC version as a glorified beta for the PS3 version, so until that starts getting some good reviews the PS3 version won't even be announced. Play.com has the release date down for 26th August 2011, but other retail websites have nothing. I think 26/08/11 sounds a bit optimistic, I'd personally expect late 2011/early 2012.

It's been out for the PC for almost a year lol.

Until they can fix the problems with it and get more people to actually buy it, I don't think it'll sell to well on the PS3. Or if they got rid of the pay to play part of it. You probably would be better off not playing it at this point :P
 
i think the ps3 version it not meant to be out to at least early 2012... and that might be moved back again... to be honest you might be better off getting it on pc :/
 
Let me clarify for those not in the know.

Version 2.0 is scheduled to be digitally delivered PC around November-December in 2012 in order to knock out any bugs and transfer current players over to the new server architecture. A full re-release of the game 2-3 months later. New PC boxed editions should hit the shelves as well as the PS3 version finally at this time.

Pay to play is set begin sometime after version 1.20 hits (scheduled in mid-December). This also will kick off the current "Coming of the Seventh Umbral Era" which is said to bring upon the end of the world as current players know it. This will be one-time playable missions and content that will not exist in version 2.0. This content will tell the story of why the world changes. (since version 2.0 includes most maps being overhauled/redesigned).

In November / December 2012, the game will go back to Free to Play for a limited time for players to try Version 2.0. This will be the equivalent to purchasing a boxed copy of 2.0 for the first time and receiving a 30 day free-trial before subscriptions kick in. Current players need not purchase the game a second time.

If it sounds a little strange, it is. I've not heard of any company doing such a thing. I hope it works out for them, as I enjoy what FF XIV is becoming.
