Any Mention of Cid?

Unless he is going to be a part of the main playable protagonists, I would say it is very early to be hearing about Cid.
 
I doubt it, theres so little known about the game i doubt they would reveal anything about a cid unless like kain said hes a main PC, which is unlikely seeing as cids usually take a back seat.
 
Well we all know that Cid is in every Final Fantasy but I would say they will announce him quite soon. Maybe he could be a bad guy like in XII or something?

I doubt he would be a villain in two strait games, I would like to see him a little bit different role, maybe instead of a brilliant builder of ships, a brilliant military tactician that knows how to use ships and technology to their best ability, just not design them
 
I don't think he'll be a villain again, that won't work twice.

I don't think we'll get confirmation of Cid as a character unless he's a playable one. It'll be interesting to see how - and if! - they include Cid in this game though.
 
I don't think any Cid has been announced yet and just like everyone else, I don't think we will hear about him unless he is a playable character. But I am quite certain they will have a new Cid simply because Cid is pretty much an FF icon.

Thats pretty much the same thing considering he always had been both of a ship designer/builder and pilot.

I would like to see a totally different Cid on FFXIII, maybe this time he would be named after a Airship. Seeing Bahamut was named after a Fortress on FFXII I can expect anything.

While that would be an interesting concept, I can see many fans getting annoyed if Cid is an airship instead of a person - like in FFXII, when people were annoyed that Shiva, Ifrit, etc, weren't summons, but were instead airships.

He was a pilot, not so much a fighter pilot or a general that gave military orders.

Cid as a ship or a summon would be weird. If perhaps the ship had a mind of its own it may work.

I dont think people didnt like that so much because those two werent summons as much as the fact that the other summons felt bland and summon just did not feel right in XII, well thats at least how it was for me

I would personally like to see Cid as a character just like every other FF game. It probably wouldn't bother me too much if Cid was the name of an airship though because unlike Shiva and Ifrit, Cid has no defining appearance and no set character traits.

I wouldn't really like to see Cid as a summon though because I think it would feel a little weird, especially if they based his appearance off a previous Cid (which would most likely be VII's).

If he was a summon, I wouldnt mind him looking some what like he did in IV, this short and stout guy with a huge beard with what I think was a hammer...there have been human summons like Odin and such. Although I would rather see him as a character.
 
^^True, if he was a summon and his design was based off the FFIV Cid I wouldn't be too disappointed. I think he would remind me of the "Titan" summon from earlier games, so I definitely think that could work. But still (much like you) I would much rather prefer Cid to just be a character.

Titan, that was the summon I was trying to think of....I liked the art style of the old human summons, the Titan just looked pretty cool.

But given the strange nature of this game, I dont think I would be surprised (and probably disappointed) if Cid was not human, but some ship, or summon or some other type of technology.
