Do any other fictional couples remind you of Clerith? I can think of a few 
Jack and Rose (Titanic): This is so Clerith it is not even funny. The fact that rose continues to love Jack after all those years and chooses to reunite with him after death is just touching.
Ai and Mew (Psychic Academy) This is also very Clerith. In fact, there is even a Tifa counter part XD. The basic story is that the characters attend a school for kids with psychic abilities and eventually they fight a bad guy. Every 12 years, those with psychic abilities have a para dream that takes place on a beach. The romance in the story goes something like this. Ai is in love with Mew but doesn't really know how to tell her. Ai and Mew are unique in that they always meet in the para dream where as, every other psychic is there alone. He dates his childhood friend Orina who has had a childhood crush on him. However, he never really has feelings towards her. Tension rises, a lot of shit happends, Ai and Mew grow closer. In the end Mew dies, but she appears to Ai one last time in a dream and confesses her feelings for him. In the end Ai wants to create a future where Mew would be happy and longs to meet her again in the next para dream. Orina even admits that even though she is gone, Ai still thinks about Mew and Orina knows that she will never have a chance with him.
From the Disney version of Pochahontas, I'd say Pochahontas and John Smith. The two fall in love but are separated from each other at the end. When you see Pochahontas saying good bye to John Smith, you see with wind blow past her and to John Smith which is symbolic of her spirit going with him (Earlier in the film someone mentions that Pochahontas goes where the wind takes her) And to make this Clerith you have to pretend that the awful sequel never existed!

I think that's a great couple that reminds me of Clourith. Especially if you look at their story together. John Smith is a cold and careless person only caring for gold just like Cloud is a cold and careless person only caring for money.
