This is the new version of the CloudxAerith club.
Previous owner was Mandi,
past club found here.
I'll keep her previous rules since they were quite good.



WHAT WE ARE
This club is dedicated to the most beautiful pairing of all Final Fantasies,
Cloud and Aerith from FFVII.


In this club, we believe that:
​



  • Cloud's only love during FFVII was Aerith.
  • Cloud and Aerith shared a mutual love based on caring, devotion, understanding, trust, and desire for one another.
  • Their love was NOT based on false pretenses.
  • Aerith was a beautiful woman who had the best of intentions toward all members of the party, who had the best of intentions toward saving the Planet, and who loved Cloud.

In this club, we do NOT accept:

  • Negative views about Cloud, Aerith, and/or their relationship (e.g. evil Aerith/submissive Cloud)

  • Debating against our interpretation of Cloud and Aerith's relationship

What songs remind you of Clerith? Yeah I'm a music video junkie D:

My Immortal: I think this song suits them perfectly. It would fit perfectly during Advent Children any time before Cloud fights Sephiroth.

Unchained Melody: Everytime I hear this song I think of Clerith <3 I think the movie Ghost is at fault for this one! lol But definently fits perfectly from Cloud's POV.

Imagine Me With Out You: I saw a music video for this one and was bawling by the end of it. Unfortunantly, Youtube disabled the sound for the video due to copy right infringement <.<

Frankly I'm gonna travel back to the 80's and give you guys and Lionel Richie/Diana Ross song. Initially I heard it on Friends (lawl) and I downloaded it, fell in love with it, and now frankly when I think about it, can be very old schoolish Clerith.

It may scream cheese.. but wtf. IT ROCKS. <3

女は星を巡るライフストリームの中に異質な存在を感じていた。けっして星と交わろうとはにしな い強固な意志 の力だった。女はその意志を知っていた。自分の命を奪った男。美しい容姿秘められた無慈悲な精 神。その精神 がライフストリームの中で活動をしている。女は男が地上に影響を及ばそうと企んでいることを感 じていた。女 は自分に何ができるだろうと考えた。接触するのは危険だったので、女は男の意識から遠ざかるよ うにしていた 。そのせいで、男の思惑を詳しく知ることはできなかった。しかし一度だけ、不意に近く に現れた男の精神から、男がクラウドの記憶を、その核としていることを知った。
クラウドは女の友人であり、恋人であり——大切なものの象徴であり、守るべき存在だった。
Rough translation:
The woman was a cetra, so she could still sustain herself in the lifestream. Though it was possible to become one part of the lifestream, she thought it was still a little early.
The woman felt something heterogenous in the lifestream, some spirit that was strongly reluctant to be incorporated into it. The woman knew him, the man who took her life with a merciless attitude behind his delicate appearance/face. He was moving about in the lifestream. The woman perceived the man's wish to exert an effect on the living world. She thought about what she could do. It was dangerous to get into phycical contacts with the man, so she kept herself away from him. As a result, she was not able to know every detail of the man's plan/thoughts. But only once, she accidentally got to know that the man wanted to use Cloud's memory as a core when the man showed up not far away.

Cloud is the woman's friend, lover (koibito)---he is a symbol for something important, an existence that she must protect.
Romaji Sentence: "Cloud wa onna no yuujin de ari , koibito de ari —— taisetsu na mono no shouchou de ari , mamoru beki sonzai datta."

That is Cloud's Promised Land

As he sleeps, Cloud hears two voices. The voices of two people very dear to him, who are no longer with him. Playfully and kindly, they give him a message: he doesn't belong here yet.

When he awakes, there were his friends. There were the children, freed from their fatal illness. Tifa and Marlene, and Denzel asking for Cloud to heal his Geostigma-- his family were waiting. Engulfed in celebration, he realizes where he is meant to live. He realizes that he was able to forgive himself.

And when he turns around--- "she" is starting to leave. Together with the friend who had given Cloud his life. Cloud no longer has to suffer in loneliness... And so they too go back to where they belong.

Back to the current of life flowing around the planet---.

CLOUD X AERITH'S RELATIONSHIP ANSWERED

Question: What was the thought behind bringing back Aerith [in Kingdom Hearts]?

Nomura: Yes, she died in Final Fantasy VII, but there's no real relation to where she was at or what role she played in FFVII. There's no relationship from FFVII to the Kingdom Hearts stories. I consider them separate stories. But if you play Kingdom Hearts, toward the end, some of the questions about the relationship between Cloud and Aeris in FFVII might be answered. It's sort of like a side story, and this was an extra bonus that I wanted to give to players.

"Nomura : I believe, for those who formerly traveled with her as comrades and for the viewers, each carry their own feelings and love for Aerith. In this story, Cloud also carries his undying feeling for Aerith even to this very day... It's relations with this church scene is... Yup. I'll leave this part to your imagination. (Laughs)"

Nomura, concerning Aerith's death:
"Back at the time we were designing the game, I was frustrated with the perennial cliche where the protagonist loves someone very much and so has to sacrifice himself and die in a dramatic fashion to express that love. We found this was the case in both games and movies, both eastern and western. But I wanted to say something different, something realistic. I mean, is it right to set such an example to people?

Kitase follows that up with this:
In the real world, things are very different. You just need to look around you. Nobody wants to die that way. People die of disease and accident. Death comes suddenly and there is no notion of good or bad attached to it. It leaves, not a dramatic feeling, but a feeling of emptiness. When you lose someone you loved very much you feel this big empty space and think 'If I had known this was coming I would have done things differently.' These are the feelings I wanted to arouse in the players with Aerith's death relatively early in the game. Feelings of reality and not Hollywood."

Kitase, concerning the fans' responses to Aerith's death:
The world was expecting us to bring her back to life, as this is the classic convention. But we did not. We had decided this from the beginning. There was a lot of reaction from Japanese users. Some of them were very sad about it, while others were angry. We even received a lengthy petition addressed to our scenario writer asking for Aerith's revival. But there are many meanings in Aerith's death and that could never happen.
