I used to think smoking was really cool and great, a lot of other kids did it so I assumed that everyone thought it was awesome. I of course grew out of that phase and realised I had been a foolish child, I was twelve around that time

Posting GIFs is a much more redundant and moronic activity. So I see why you, an 'adult' still finds them omahgah sooooooooo kewl

@Conor

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely
descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about
being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush
at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of
childhood and adolescence.

And in childhood and adolescence they are, in
moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But
to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern
about being adult is a mark of really arrested development."
- C.S. Lewis

That is a silly quote, he first condemns childishness and adolescence as awful and derogatory things. Then says they are ok in moderation, and anyone who wishes to out grow them is in fact a child. So he goes from derogatory, to laudatory, back to derogatory. Great quote from a mediocre writer of fiction

I think it is a very good quote, specially for people who are obsessed with being an 'adult' like yourself.

I am not obsessed with adulthood, merely uninterested in watching people who have the capacity for originality and hilarity descend into tedium

I also like the fact that your most effective counter argument involved abandoning GIFs, and as I said earlier required the intelligence to apply a concise and appropriately damning quote

you could always not come into the thread :grin: if it really upsets you so much, Conor :( Poor little baby
