A personal Challenge

So i started this challenge (for myself on Monday) and I want to get everyone's opinion. I am trying to beat all the numbered Final Fantasies (excluding XI) by January 1st. I am recording my progress here http://completeallff.blogspot.com/

So does anyone think this is possible? Am I behind pace already? Feedback appreciated.
 
It's possible, definitely. The only thing i think your really going to need on your side is knowledge of areas, and enemies, and such. Otherwise, it'll take you long after your mark to beat them all.
 
Wow, does this include getting EVERYTHING in the games or just going through the basic storyline? You must have alot of time on your hands then to get it done. What about leveling up and such???
 
I am pretty knowledge about all the games. I think my only road block is grad. school. Education Masters here and its time to crack down on unit plans.
 
If you have enough time then sure, if you're trying to 100% them all then I very much doubt it. See, if you have the right knowledge and enough time I reckon you could beat at least 2 week excluding one or two titles. But you'll need the knowledge on bosses and such like because you're not going to have much time to level grind. :monster:

I am playing through the games and trying to get everything but I know if i want to meet my goal it might not be possible. Especially when I get to the "newer" games. But I mean I finished One last night and was only missing a few enemies and chest. I think it was War Mech and the chest in the basement of the March Cave
 
Well good luck to you! Hope you manage it and watch it doesnt affect any studies. If you know what to do then thats ok, its just leveling up maybe the bitch here lol.
 
Its very possible, although you will have to keep very good track of your time. As long as you do just storywise, you should finish, maybe even before the deadline. If you are going for side-quests and things like that, then tough luck and good luck :wacky:
 
I think you could definitely do it, maybe not get all the sidequests in but you could get through the storylines. Leveling will be a pain, but as long as you know what the bosses have in store for you at least abit, you'll be fine. Also, since you said you're knowledgeable about the series, it should be a fun experience! :)
 
Thanks for the support everybody. And even if I dont meet my goal( because of grad school and that I forgot how much I hate the stat system in FF2) I could Always change my goal to 100% every game that my bring me up to the release date of XIII.
 
Well, I wish you the best of luck then. If you're trying to get as much as possible complete in the FF series until January, that's a rather momentous task. I would never dream of succeeding such a thing. RPGs are such long games, and Final Fantasy is one of the franchises with the most games.

Don't get too carried away. Schoolwork is more important than the challenge. It's a more sensible challenge than the one proposed by another guy who wanted to beat FFVII without a memory card.

that's funny cause when I first got my PS back in the day and had FFVII I was doing that cause I didnt have a card yet ( got the PS at a yard sale). I think the farthest I got in one sitting was right when you leave Midgar. Then I got fed up with redoing the stuff all the time. But I do know that first part of the game quite well after that
 
Seems like a tough challenge. I assume you're not such a slow player as I am. I would only manage to beat 1, maybe 2 titles before Jan 1 since I take way too much time talking with npc's, buying gear and checking my stats. I don't know how long the old games take to complete, but I usually need 50+ hours for FFVIII, IX, X or XII.

Anyways, good luck and keep us informed, I'm curious how far you'll get!
 
Sounds pretty neat, and I wish you fun and luck. I'm tempted to replay the entire series before the release date of XIII, myself, buuuut I think there are too many other things I want to do and other games I want to play.
