I was thinking of what film to sit down and watch as im not going out tonight. Fight club did cross my mind for a while but ive settled on the machinist.

i've got a miniature pile of dvd's to watch, but i bought a blu-ray player yesterday and i haven't bought any blu-rays i don't already own yet. i think i'll carry on watching taken later.

I just use the ps3 for the blu rays. So handy.

I only buy blu rays when theyre going for a good price. I wont spend more on a blu ray when i can get a normal copy for less. Theyre cool to have but dont make the film any better.

oh i'm the same. i got fight club, scott pilgrim and the fighter for less than £20, and i'm buying kick ass, batman begins, the dark knight and the a team for another £20 from a girl at work. it'll only be another couple of years before blu-ray is standard

What did i get :hmmm:

I got unknown and gran torino for a tenner from HMV :hmmm: Ive got limitless and termiantor salvation too. And 24 season 8. Thats all the blu rays i own.

Tbh i find re watching films youv seen before on blu ray more interesting. To see how the difference etc

how was gran torino on blu-ray? i was going to get it, but ended up with the fighter instead. i do like watching ones i've seen already to compare, but i'd like a few that i don't already own on dvd otherwise it feels a little pointless.

Its still sealed :lew: Havent got round to watching it yet. Its in my stockpile. Terminator salvation looked awesome though. In my opinion action films look the best on blu ray. You really notice the differnce when theres explosions and stuff.

Id quite like to own the original star wars trilogy on blu ray. Ive always wanted them on dvd but never bought them cuz theres like a million differnt boxsets for it. So when i do i think il pick it up on bluray

i just finished fight club, and it wasn't all that amazing. scott pilgrim was though, i think it really makes a difference on special effects and animated films.

i'm not sure about buying star wars, at least not yet. i'm definitely going to get lord of the rings and harry potter on blu-ray though.

Lotr would be a good one. I dont own that anymore so i could get that :hmmm:

This machinist is a very strange film :hmmm: Interesting tho

Yeah it is. Hes painfully thin its scary. Im watching it on netflix atm though i own it on dvd. So far its been really strange and cryptic. Kinda like a donni darko film. All these strange things are happening and your not sure what they mean or how they fit together etc.

Brad Anderson?

Its the first ive heard of him tbh. It just finished. Pretty interesting film. Definitely worth a watch.

Before id seen it i remember reading that to fit the role bale lived on something like 2 tins of tuna a day to get down to the tiny size he is. Im not a fan of bale mostly cuz i think hes a bit of a dick from what ive read in tabloids etc but he was really good in that.

Also although its set in america most of the film was shot in Barcelona :hmmm:

i got it from amazon for a quid or soemthing like that. Cant go wrong on amazon

i've only disliked bale since batman really. he's a brilliant bruce wayne, but a poor batman. and ever since then he just does his batman voice in every role. :rage:

i think i read that after shooting the machinist, he went to a doctor and was basically told he was knocking on death's door with the way he'd been living

:lew: the voice. Am batman!

I like val kilmer but he wasnt a great batman either although that was a shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit movie :ness:

Hes ridiculously thin its a bit sickly tbh though its a part of his role in the film. Its mentioned quite a few times by other characters.

that's a good point, he's excellent in the fighter. he got an oscar for it, i think. bale is definitely the best batman so far though, i think mostly because the new films are so much better written
