a good RPG or RPG series other than FF?

Umm well, one of favorite game series are the "Tales Series"
ToA for the PS2 is what I'm currently playing. It has tons of sidequest to keep you busy from the story line. ToS is also a must play rpg if you like the series.
 
i beat tales of legendia for the ps2, but ive heard that thats one of the crappier ones in the series...i thought it was pretty good. maybe ill check them out..
 
lets see, you should try breath of fire 3 and 4, its funny and its pretty fun, however i personally dont recomend breath of fire dragon quarter for the ps2

you should also play oblivion :), its tons of fun

I've never played legendia but I agree with Jinx. Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss are both awesome games that you should definitely give a try. Also the breath of fire series is really good. V was okay but 3 and 4 were awesome. Wild Arms and Star Ocean are good series too.

i remember playing wild arms, dont remember which one though, and i also played star ocean, both really good games

i never did beat em though :P
 
Grandia II or III; Shadow Hearts I , II, or III; Kingdom Hearts I & II; Xenosaga I, II, or III. =D.

I never actually played any of the Xenosaga games though I played Xenogears and loved it. I've been meaning to try them.

You went stright to pt 3? Was you not completly clueless to what was going on? I played pt 1 and finished it. I got pt2 too but havn't finished it yet.
But yeah if you don't mind cut scenes that seem to take forever you should try Xenosaga.
 
The cutscenes do take foever. Also, yes, I was and still am quite confused. It's crazy. lol. I get the main jist of it though.
 
i beat the first xenosaga and for some reason never bothered to buy any of the others. ugh id be lost if i played the 2nd one now, maybe ill just buy them all again. now if only money grew on trees...
 
Well, I was watching X-Play and they said they've played all 3 and that the story is STILL confusing and what-not. I didn't pay attention to much when it came to certain things. I just kept attention to what was going on in this game. =p.
 
i heard the gameplay is lacking and there's more cutscenes then acual gameplay. not my cup of tea, is that how it is?
 
Well I played Tales of Destiny, ToD 2, ToS, and Tales of Phantasia. They're all really good games. Tales of Destiny 1 and 2 are tough to find. Your best bet is ebay. Tales of Phantasia is on the GBA, or you can download the SNES emulator file.

Baten Kaitos for the gamecube is a pretty good game. Terrible voice acting but you can turn off that feature.

I heard Odin Sphere for the PS2 is an awesome game. The game got pretty good ratings.

As for Square games...Chrono series and Parasite eve.
 
perhaps you can help me in finding a good website to download a snes emulator from...and a good place to download valid roms from? i once knew good sites for this but ive lost them and wish i could find them again.
 
strange for some reason none of these games would work before but they work with the link for emulator you showed me, zank yoo ^_^
