Captain Buggy
Ex-Soldier
A claymation movie-movie:FFIX
Basically, I'm making a FFIX movie.
But let's get the stuff that I know will come up out of the way, I know what these kind of things sound like. They're like these people who have an idea, get hyped, and then never do anything about it after. I've seen and been a part of a lot of projects like that, and yes, it is hard to really get behind it. And I can't lie to you, I'm no proffessional. I can animate and aim to get better, but right now I'm a bit weak.
But I'm by no means going to let that stop me from something I've been working on for two years.
I best FFIX a long time ago and loved it even at a younger age. Getting older I began to play it more and eventually felt like I wanted just one last hurrah. So to that end I began to think of some ideas, thinking about what I really liked and what I didn't like. I went, changed a few things, and eventually came up with a brand new concept, turning the original storyline into a musical adventure (Using the tunes from the game.)
A while later I was thinking about Voice Acting. I got in contact with Actorman, the director and voice of Zidane for the FFIX dub on youtube and he seemed pretty interested. I showed him the script and we had a little discussion about it, and by that time it was in its second draft. He agreed with me that some of the dialogue seemed out of character so I'm currently working on the third draft (If you ever see it, feel free to drop him some praise, it's a fine fandub and he's a very friendly bloke.)
Anyway, I've currently got base models for all of the leads and am still refining them each day. I'm slowly going to upload some development and finished shots up to DA on this page- http://the-ffix-project.deviantart.com/
So that's the bush beaten around seventeen times. Why am I posting this? Am I looking to get other people to do the work or something?
On the one hand, yes, it would be nice to have some volunteers. I'd appreciate concept artists and helpers with the script and such, anything would be nice. But on the other hand I'm more interested in seeing what people think of the idea. I could definitely keep going without the support (it's going to take me a few years to animate anyway, so it's no biggie, I'm prepared for that. In the meantime I still release other animated projects to keep myself actively working.) Advice given to me was to go to the right places to advertise or suggest things like this, and I think this is the best place. And critisisms are just as welcome as support.
Well...phew, I guess that's it. Hope this made sense an' all, feel free to ask any questions you like. And yes, I will intergrate myself on the forums, I'm certainly not just on here to post and run. Especially on the only forum I know to have a cookie monster for a smilie. That's odd and awsome.
