Ugh comparisons to Skyrim turn me off. As long as it's similar more to FFXII and not a western RPG then I'm all up for something new. I dont want a bland, bare bones story with uninteresting characters, 1 british voice actor doing all the voices, and lame combat ala skyrim, elder scrolls, etc.

Thing is, that wouldnt really be all that new. Past FF games were large. Sure it's not free roam like FFXII or Skyrim, but they were big games. Some over 100 hours of game play. Skyrim you could play for much more than that if you wanted, but you also will be just doing the same thing over and over again eventually just like any other game.
I don't know. I'm rather turned off by this. I really loathed the big open worlds in FF12 and the battle system. I'm hoping that this is fake, like really hoping. Sorry to everybody that is hoping that this is true.
But I hated always getting lost and having to grab a walkthrough book just to find a pub or something in FF12. It was damn annoying. Also it sounds really like a western RPG game than a eastern Final Fantasy.

It won't be though, SE has given us many points in the past that they want to head down a western road. Sigh, I guess it's time to head down the Tales of series games; it was nice knowing you Final Fantasy.
