[18/01] Tidbits About The New Final Fantasy Versus XIII Trailer

A new trailer of Final Fantasy Versus XIII was shown at the Production 1 press conference. The video, like others, started with the tagline "this is a fantasy based on reality."

It opened with a scene of Prince Noctis that may have been in or resembled Japan on a freeway. The next scene showed Noctis and a beautiful blonde as described by 4gamer (I believe this may be Stella) talking about how they can see the "light." Then a man in a suit said, "I’m sorry to say you cannot become the king. The crown won’t be handed over to just anyone. I will be remembered in history as the final king."

The trailer then cut to gameplay footage where a fight took place between a character (Noctis?) wielding a sword and battling a swarm of soldiers. A gigantic behemoth showed and the fight continued. Many more common monsters came out. Later, there was a scene where a character (it isn’t clear if this is Noctis) boarded a tank and controlled it. A two legged robot was shown too.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII, as mentioned many times, is for PlayStation 3 only.

Based on the description, this trailer doesn't sound like it will live up to my much needed expectations >.< I was hoping for like one of those five minute trailers that reveal like EVERYTHING you wanted to know.... (Like when Final Fantasy XIII was being teased), but I guess not. UNLESS that description is very brief and the trailer's actually quite long and more interesting than it seems. Anyway, I'll be getting this. I also would enjoy a release date or a very brief release date...

Well I'm looking forward to seeing this soldier swarm gameplay. I wanna see how Noctis does in terms of crowd control as opposed to a massive behemoth. I also hope to see some wall running from the first trailer, though as long as it will be put in the game at all, I will be happy. I hope something will be added to battle gameplay to distinct itself from Crisis Core's, because watching the Behemoth battle just gave me major deja vú of it.

After all these years all they give us is a trailer? Just like I was expecting. Oh well I cant wait to watch it notheless. Hopefully the new characters interest me. Though these are just Tidbits so Ill have to wait till the trailer is up on January 27th. Beautiful Blonde? Might be Stella.. might not. This new man in a suit and a new character thay maybe isnt Noctis? But I cant wait to see the gameplay.

To me it sounds they used also older footage, like the Behemoth part..sigh.Anyways seems interesting. Im also wondering how long the footage actually is...

Why are there always Behemoths?

No offense, to Ryan for his post or the dude or whoever wrote this article.

But I personally wont place so much faith in the 3rd hand report of some other persons interpretation of a video that is so full of conjecture and innuendo that its does not do justice to this game.

We beleive to be Stella? is it or si it not?

Possibly on a Highway? ?

We need to see this footage for our own insight. PS3 only I really like that

A long, new trailer of Final Fantasy Versus XIII was also shown. But unlike Agito, there was no renaming.
The trailer begins with voice acting from Noctis in a car. The driver also speaks dialogue. The setting seems to be somewhere which looks very similar to Japan. They’re pulled up at a checkpoint by armed soldiers before . This scene is in CG. Fantastic CG, it must be said.
In-engine footage is then shown of Noctis and lead female Stella. The scene between them, unlike the open scene, remains voiceless. The scene is based in the art gallery seen in past trailers.
It then shows someone in a suit talking, again voiceless, and sitting on a throne. It then proceeds to show a city skyline before rolling into real-time gameplay. Yes, as in actual gameplay.
Invading forces are then seen entering the gallery before showing the city under attack. The HUD display is similar to that of Kingdom Hearts.
The monster shown in the TGS showreel clip of the game then appears before it and Noctis fight.
We then see a green outland where Noctis battles against wild creatures. A day and night cycle is then shown before Noctis enters into a tank.
We revert back into the city environments as Noctis enters into a mech. A unknown character then appears in front of Noctis after jumping off a building. Japanese media suggests this could be Stella. We then see two unknown characters face-off against one another.
Trailer ends with Noctis getting off his throne and saying something we can’t understand.
It was, however, confirmed at the end that the long-awaited RPG will remain as a PS3 exclusive.
