Square Enix, Bigpoint team up for unannounced project


Square Enix has announced its teamed with Bigpoint to release a new, unannounced title from the publisher to the latter’s games portal. The effort, which is “”already well into development,” will be social-focussed and feature heavily on UGC. The game is expected to be detailed in the next few weeks, with a release due within the next six months. It’ll launch on Bigpoint’s website in Europe and North America.

Am I paying too much attention on SE news, or that they seem to announce 68942784739 games every week, while taking forever to make Versus?

On a serious note, they seem to be targetting the social games market lately. DQX, the new crystal chronicles game, etc. Hmm not necessarily a bad thing, but still...

I agree, they know how populair mobile gaming is and social gaming etc. They want a big piece of that market...

Too bad Versus on the other hand will be left in the dark...

I got bets on it being

A) Another online/ cellphone game

B) Another Kingdom Hearts spin off to milk the cow even more.

C) Final Fantasy XIII-3

It won't be anything that the fans actually want, like a FF5- FF7 remake, Chrono Trigger game or Kingdom Hearts III.

They announce dlc's one week, announce a bunch of weird games another week...
So is this the CC game that everyone assumes is Crystal Chronicles?
If not that...
then... either some remake or anything.... something none FF or DQ related is my guess... so... either a new game...or something by one of their other companies...

Social and PC platform and the mentioning of Bigpoint's website, suggest it will be a Social game so in other words BROWSER game.

CC was already announced as Conquest and it has nothing to do with Chrystal Chronicles. As this is an UNannounced project it means its another one!!

...And we have another game announcement yet again. *sighs exasperatedly* I understand that SE is trying it's best to keep up with the times, but this is already becoming all too disturbing. They'll be pulling up several staff to work on this project, and heavens know what it could possibly do to hurt the development of any other still being worked on games, particularly Versus XIII. I may sound like a whiny Versus fangirl, but in reality, like most of you here, I'm just someone who's been promised the same thing over and over, only to get my hopes up way too high each time. I just wish they would try to show that they're really doing something about the game whilst simultaneously being able to maintain another. We're not asking for it to be here NOW--we just want explanations.

As for this new project, I'm not that fond of browser games, but I'll sit back and see if it proves to be any sort of entertaining.
