I know I'm gonna get a bunch of "it's simple" and all that jazz, but that's the point of this gfx piece. I wanted to try and do as pretty and different of lighting as I could.

Here's the original image:

and here's what I did to it, using all freehand lighting(meaning I wasn't using a PSD or a tut... so if it blows well yeah, that's why :wacky: )

It was a bust to do but I thought it came out pretty decent. Anyway, I made this looking for some constructive feedback because I went five months without making gfx and I got really really rusty. :lew:

I made something very similar to this yesterday, but I ended up deleting it. :wacky:

What do you mean by "freehand" lighting?

Usually people follow tuts/PSDs... or at least the folks I hang out with at GFX forums do. :wacky: Just--never mind, it's too hard to explain and I'm obviously too ill to get out a comprehensible sentence :lew:

*kicks self*

I like it. It actually looks like that your version should be the original.

The lighting you did is superb.
Oh my gosh :ari:

Thank you!! That is so sweet of you. :ari: seriously... I'm blushin' :ari:

You're so sweet ♥

Yea I like the lighting. The image now looks soft and elegant. Strictly speaking in terms of lighting techniques alone, you did great :D

Sometimes simplicity is all you need..if it's done right, that is. I've noticed some people that i know on other sites, they just do it too simple. I think you did it the right way, Cali. Like Raul said, you put your own spin on it. Nicely done ^^

:ari:

Thanks you guys!! ♥ I'm glad to hear I didn't fall flat on my face with it :lew:
