i need a new pc, tried googling today on my dinner, but i was bamboozled by ...well...everything. The only thing i understood was the price

i dont want the cheapest thing i can find, i want summat semi decent and that will play games but am sat there thinking well, this is 700 quid, thats 600 whats the difference, oh yes, all these numbers and bits of information I DONT BLODDY UNDERSTAND

Is there nothing out there that can actually compare this shit in easy to understand language? even just saying what it will play and if it will be slow as shit or...whatever :hmph:

As far as budget, Im not sure, as long as its not astronomical and isnt going over £1,000 then im open to suggestions.

Please dont reply if you can't actually fire me decent links from the UK. its all well throwing stats at me or saying something from somewhere in like america is good because im not importing a pc it'l cost too much :mokken:

Well my question, do you want to just buy one or do you know someone that can help you put a computer together? If you or someone you know can build a machine for you, then you can get all the parts fairly cheap actually. if not, then your going have to buy one..and gaming pc's aren't that cheap

Im aware of that. If I could get one built I'd be doing that :mokken:

Yes. This. Buying the parts separately and building a computer is overall much cheaper than buying OEM which is more expensive and comes with all of this extra bullshit you don't want.

And just to clarify, you are looking into a desktop, yes? If not, laptop browsing is much easier than desktop part searching.

Oh someone just close the thread, this isnt going to get me anywhere

I CAN NOT GET A PC BUILT, I WOULDN'T HAVE NEEDED TO MAKE THE THREAD IF I COULD

WHEN I SAY I WANT A PC I MEAN A PC. IF I MEANT LAPTOP I'D OF SAID

try which magazine? they tend to explain things to dumb folk like me and you. :wacky: i would guess something around £600 should do you though, but that's only a semi-educated guess

i never thought of that, do they have an online thingy i could have a scan of rather than having to go out an buy a actual magazine? :wacky:

whaaaaaaat, you have to phone ans ask for one, whats that all about?! il have to google for reviews an' shit. bah

cheers :)

Id like to say Im not normally a stroppy twat, but that would be a lie :wacky:

Its usually a good idea to avoid brands like Gateway and Dell.

If you buy a computer and its lifespan is short. Avoiding that brand in the future is usually a good idea also. ^ ^

The main things to recognize in hardware specs are.

1. RAM
2. Processor compatibility
3. Video card

If you want I'll explain what each component does and what its primary function is.

+In terms even women bad at math can understand.
