Okay, started a new job yesturday and Im very nervous. I was at the meeting and we get the mystery shopper in like every other shop. A mystery shopper, for those who dont know, is when someone is paid to come into a shop and behave like a regular customer. They then go back to the head of the company and give feedback on the shop and its employees.
Now my manager read out what they had got back from the mystery shoppers over the last month and most people scored 10/10, however those who got lower then 10 were yelled at and said you get 3 strikes at a non 10/10 mark. Once you get 3, you get sent to discilpinery!
I was shocked. My mum works for the same company and has never mentioned anything like this. I have worked before, but the other compaines werent as bothered as this store is!
Im terrified in case I do something wrong and I get a bad mark come next month. Of course one of the rules is "Treat every customer like you would the mystery shopper." But because Im new Im still gettting the hang of things and Im worried that I make a mistake in front of the mysrery shopper.
Ive been told not to worry and you get the hang of things, but there is so much to remember. And I dont want to keep asking my manager as she is quite stressed lately as we have been bought by a bigger supermarket name and we are changing everything. So everyone is on edge and panicking.
Sounds like a silly thing to get upset over, but I need this job in order to stay at university over the summer. And I dont want to let the team down.
