Ok, i was talking to some of the peeps in the SB about this earlier, but i thought i should ask in here to help clarify some stuff.

Here's the thing.

In 2 days, i'm planning on buying a brand new PSP. Now i know that with the original PSP's that you needed a memory stick so save data.

I'm wandering weather when you guys brought your new PSP, it came with a memory stick, or wether you all had to buy it seperately.

Also, wether you can save games on the PSP's HD without a memory stick.

I ask because i really don't feel like coughing up $350+ for the sake of a stick that's only going to be used for save data on games.

(I mentioned the PSP 3000 in the SB but i realised that it would obviously cost more than the original so i'm just gonna buy the original PSP.)

No they don't. However the PSP 3000 can come with a bundle which has a 1GB memory stick and one game for a bit more. So unless you want to want to just get a larger memory stick, it would be better just to get the bundle even if you don't like the game.

Also you may as well buy the PSP 3000 since it is much easier to buy the 3000 new than it is buying a new 1000.

Mine came with a small, small memory card. Where are you buying from? The box will tell you what it includes. My came with a 2GB and its a 2000. 3000 should come with one, thought I doubt anything big to save more than 10+ games....

I'm buying from EB Games. Whats the difference between a 2000 and a 3000? I only know of the Original, Lite, Slim and 3000?

I'll have a look on the box when i go in to take a look, i totally forgot about the box contents...

You'd think, being brand new that the stick would be included...guess i'll find out in 2 days x.x

Virc, Terra. Thank you for the helpful info :)

Oh, Virc, i wanted to buy the 3000 but i barely have $350 to spend, and from what i've seen, the 3000 goes for $400 i think.

EDIT: I just looked on their website and the 3000 goes for $277. i'll buy that, and Dissidia for $40 and buy a 2GB stick on friday...now having said that, Is there any way to transfer the data from the old stick to the new one?

Well, the differences are vast. 1000 > 2000 > 3000 > PSPG0.

The differences include what the owner can do with the system. 1000 can have basically anything done to it. Make it into a Computer, another system, make it look better theme wise. 2000 have do basically almost everything 1000 can do.

3000 is in the range of basic Microsoft merchandise. And by that I mean its just that one system and you can only homebrew.

Basically, you'd get a lot more out of your money if you get a 1000 or 2000. I'm not sure if I can go into detail on this forum, but if you'd like more information, you can see this forum.

Through personal experience, I feel as if the older models last longer as well. My 3000 died in a year and Sony said the board had just taken its last breath and I played it eight times through the whole year. My 2000 has been alive for years. So I'd advise you not to get 3000, but it is, in the final part of the day, your decision xD

PSPG0 is just terrible.

To transfer data from an old to new stick, just copy the data from the old stick on your computer and then copy the data from your computer to your new stick. All you need to have is a USB cable to connect your PSP to your computer. I don't know if there's an easier way to do this without a computer, however.

I don't really know about the specifics but the 2000 and 3000 both have some more features that pit it over the 1000 however you can't really go wrong with any model except the PSP go. Sure it has 16GB of internal memory but everything is DD so that limits what games you can buy to the ones that's on PSN. It's been out for about about a bit more than a year or maybe two but it is still missing out on a lot of the PSP's library of games. At least with the older models you can have the option to have either a digital copy or a normal copy.

Also regarding the PSP3000's life span, I've had mine for about 2 years now and it hasn't died on me once. It is all based off how lucky you are.
