So, i arrived at Omega ruins. made my way through the first part of the caverns. got to Ultima weapon and found he wasn't my real boss, (killed him with ease.).

I proceeded further into the ruins, went own that annoying spiral path where you run into monsters even with no encounters on.

I got to Omega, used Magus Sisters, Anima and bahamut's overdrive and he still didnt die.

I thought to myself: "I wonder...."

I summoned Yojimbo and payed him 30000 gil.

He used Zanmato.

I had Omega sandwhiches for lunch.

Then i laughed so hard at how easy that battle was.

Omega in FF8 is a REAL boss.

BTW

The chest when you beat him isn't worth the trouble.
 
Omega isn't even close to "the boss" in X, the real ones are at the monster arena (or the dark aeons in the international version).
 
Come to think of it, i still have to kill the Dark Aeons and Penance..

thanks for reminding me Rhydrum, but still, the name "Omega" is usually a feared monster name throughout the FF series lol.
 
omega weapon is the hardest boss in ffviii and not anywhere near the hardest boss in ffx... As someone pointed out the most diffcult monsters in ffx are at the arena in the calm lands but you are right the ffx omega weapon is a joke..

Yeah, true i realised that when i went to get i think it's one of Kimahri's Celestial locks? where you have to caputre atleast 1 of every type of monster on Gagazet.

i forgot how OP the "new monster" was. 20k a hit wasn't fun. not al all.
 
Compared to the other Weapons in the other Final Fantasy games, the two in FFX are just cream puffs. I beat them both within 3-5 minutes . But there is also Nemesis (in the Monster Arena), that even though he's the hardest boss in the game, I'm not sure if he's considered an official weapon like Omega and Ultima are. Doubt it, but indeed the weapons in all of the other FFs are more challenging .

Nemesis? which monsters do you capture to get him as an arena monster? I keep hearing that Penance is the hardest :gonk:
 
MasamuneII- Nemesis is the "hardest" boss in the original version of X*. Penance is in the international edition and is supposed to be even tougher (I only have original so I don't know for sure).

*I say hardest because he is the last on the list, and beating him gets you the key item but I found the bosses that counter attack more difficult.
 
It depends on what version of the game you have. Estrella's an American, as am I, so our hardest boss is Nemesis.

If you're in a PAL region or Japan (not sure where else international was released, but for FFX at least, the PAL version almost IS the international version), the hardest boss is Penance. The Dark Aeons are also much harder than Nemesis, I do believe.

And, tbf, you Zanmato'd Omega. I personally see that as cheating, since you can kill all of the Dark Aeons that way too. I'm not sure if it works on Penance, but eh. It's not cheating the same way as a gameshark or something is, but it's still the cheap way out for sure.

I think....I never did a Zanmato.
In youtube there is a video that Penance is killed with it. Never played the international version,though.

In VIII, I killed Omega with The End,so it was no big deal.(although by normal means,and without Holy War/Hero,or Lionheart,is very hard)
 
I was actually suprised at how pathetic those two bosses were on this game. I didn't even use any aeons against either of them, and I raped them both. After I did, I just kinda stared at the TV for a few minutes in utter disbelief at how easy they were.

you're complaining it werent a hard boss and you used the FFX version of "get out of jail free card":srsly: fight the guy again and defeat him like a man,and that dude who said Omega in FFVIII is easy if you use THe End? GTFO!!:rage: fight the battle win with no cheating bull shit move and then you can brag!

Unbelievable.........Sorry to come down hard but this is just annoying.
I dont think its too much too expect some level of effort when taking on such bosses?
 
Yeah i can see why you'd all say that, my original plan was to go thrpugh all my aeons first, incase Omega hit hard, but it turned out he was the same as Ultima.

I don't see using Zanmato as "cheating" simply because it's an overdrive so it's legit.

Mind you, the programmers should have made bosses immune to it though, to make the game alittle harder.

I guess the point i was trying to get across is that the programmers made it too easy to kill off the bosses, i mean yeah, i COULD have axed him like a man, hell, i was strong enough to do it, but i cbf'd.

I was expecting more in terms of stats, and to be honest i was expecting him to be immune to the attack....

(I downed Omega in FFVIII the 'manly' way.....took me an hour and a half but i did it.)

But Flare, i do understand your point though lol.
 
Its not my intent to hound you mate, but you know the move is there so you should seek to not use it to make it harder + bragging with out effort is weak.you would think it should be immune giving its title of Omega.

:lew: the whole paradox of Zanmato is what the hell is the point of Yunas journey when you can just summon Yojimbo and the dude will cut any enemy to ribbons? Its because Sin and his subsequent parts is immune to such tactics mostly.

But Omega certainly should have should have the same immunity.
See Masamune II we were lucky Australia got the International version 1st time around with the Dark Aeons included in the game, of course back then it was just known as FFX.
Not: FFX international version.
 
well i trained up allot before i even heard of the omega ruins. When i got there, i killed ultima with... ultima. I killed omega with one hit - Aurons tornado.

I didnt think Omega could be killed by tornado?
Its only does damage there is no auto-elimination involved with tornado,
are you sure you dont mean Shooting Star? at atmost Tornado does 2 hits of 99,999
to any enemy, Omega weapon has about 1,000,000 HP.

Are you sure you didnt Overkill it/him/her?

I'm kinda confused with the whole "international" thing. i was under the impression the PAL version was the edited version of the US/JP version, which is the original? (International being the JP and US version)
 
It could be that Yanks and Nippons call the Pal version the international version coz theyre jealous of it? that we got dark aeons and they didnt ? IDK

It's not like we got the Original version first and it didnt have Dark Aeons ,because I have an original copy of FFX of the pal release and it has Dark Aeons in it so I really have no idea? I could ring up S-E to find out?

I have the version with the Dark Aeons in it aswell, but i heard that there's some other uber-hard boss called Nemesis instead of Penance lol.

They should just stick to one release and be done with it!

Yes I heard, rather I saw that convo earlier on the Forums.

Nemises is Super hard a to both fight and unlock.
