Now that I'm not officially a 'Noob at Photoshop' I decided it was time to open up an updated and cleaner version of my old thread including my oldest works as well as my newest ones. It's been two years since I started and I'm sure you'll be able to see that in this portfolio.

Cheers. :awesome:

Very, very nice Jay. You can see a definite improvement over time as well. I really love the detail on the King of Saxony, Brothers Again and Falling Water sigs especially. The moogle one is quite nice too and awesome by default (anything involving moogles is). xD

Ok im just gunna comment on my favourites. Youve definately gotten MASSIVELY better since your first started. :monster:
Berlin-sig-5.png

Crativity comes to mind straight away. I remember the theme well and your entry was the only creative one out the lot.
All the stocks are blended in amazingly, the map the newspaper article, the shaking of hands AND the building....on top of that u have the German flag colours down the bottom aswell. Its simply stunning, extrememly well put together. Top marks man.
VillaSig7.png

The colour depth in this one is what strikes me combined with the lighting its a perfect tag. Love the stocks in the BG and the addition of the text and his shirt number. The effects around his arm gives the tag a lot of energy aswell. My favourite out of all your football ones for sure.

Rachel_Stevens2-1.png

Love the soft lighting up at the top and the effects to her right, looks very professional. I think the text would be beter a tad closer to the focal but i love this one none the less. Rachel is fit :ryan:

CReyes-sigII.png

Love the structure of this one and the brushing in the BG although im not sure on the lighting at the top as her eyes and roundabouts are shadowed was there 2 light sources on the render? Love the text. How do you do them?? =p do u write them yourself on your tablet? It looks great either way.

PodolskiSig-1.png

Great colours. Naturally they go with the German strip but i like how uv kept it simple. The black red and yellow down the side really make it stand out. Nice simple text and great blending. Great job =)

Your works is just amazing, Warbs! Even your old ones, and you've certainly improved a lot!

I know I already commented on this for SOTW, but I'll copy/paste it. xD

Absolutely amazing. I know how complicated it is to work with more than one image, and my limit is down to two images, but to have more than two...just wow. This is a good example of artistic creativity, and in my opinion, the artist demonstrated and executed this perfectly. The dark theme, along with the lighting effects, are phenomenal and the smoky and speckled effects here and there made this a successful finished product. It's very busy and has that messy (in a good way) look to it. I'm voting for this due to the amount of pieces it might have taken the artist to put things together by blending them and make it look like one complete complicated masterpiece.

I love everything about this one. It's so simple but it screams 'professionalism'...what with the way how you carefully produced this piece. The slight smudging and texture in the background is quite phenomenal. Text is interesting and perfect, and the lighting on his right side is really good. Great job!

KingofSaxony-sig.png

Another favorite of mine. I think this is the BEST signature I've seen...no kidding. It just looks like it came out of a magazine or something, but better. The signature seems quite busy but in a very maintained and clean way. Loving the border too since it makes the tag a bit 3D-like. Love the subtle scanlines and everything just flowed excellently. The dash of tiny splatter on top of the blurry background really added some depth.
Simply a masterpiece!

GloryFrame5.png

I remember this one. xD You worked so hard on trying to come up with different versions. I love it, simply stunning. The smudging worked really nice here.

OH-Userbar.gif

Heh, I still love this userbar. The best one I've seen to be honest. Is that brush work on the right side? Looks neat...almost like a splatter of ink.

Anyway, I might comment on some more later, but that'll do for now. xD Look forward to more of your new work!

Berlin-sig-5.png

That's a brilliant sig, you probably couldn't make it any better. Even though you've used quite a lot of images you've used them extremely effectively and got the point of the theme across the overall lighting, blending, quality of images, font, text placement are all top draw. Amazing.

KingofSaxony-sig.png

My second favourite, the colour range and blending of them is superb. It really gives the sig a "nature" feel to it, especially with such a fantastic stock. The effects, especially the lines and rings at the bottom are great and I love the font. It's amazing.

Keep up the fantastic work dude! :D

To be honest, I never expected such generous comments. Thanks for the support, guys. :monster:

Voila, here's the latest one. It's a request from !B, supposed to be Alice from Alice in Wonderland, I think. Hope she and you all like it:

Difference is just the border. Just noticed the render is a bit choppy too. >.>

That shattered glass effect didn't work the way I wanted it to. It's just so time consuming. I guess you can kind of see it in the skirt and the arm there, so that's what I was trying to do.

@Lew: here's the original picture:

The light source was really on top. :wacky:
I guess I made a mess of the lighting after applying Topaz to it.

That sig is awesome, Warbs! =O I like the one with the border better since it makes it look more complete. I noticed the text right away...how in the world did you do that? It's amazing! The sig has quite a few unique elements added that makes the signature different. The subject does look a bit choppy, but there's really nothing much you can do about it. But seriously, everything flows well and the color theme is quite appealing. Reminds me of chocolate. So great job! =]

The drips here and there...it looks as if the text is slowly dripping. xD I understand the positioning, but I'm talking about the effect. Was it just combined text layers and making it look that way?

Ah, okay.

I use that drippy effect way too often. :wacky:
Uh, let's see...After you're done with laying down the text (i.e. it's already it's own layer), get out a 1px brush, zoom in real close, and then do this:

a.) click on the spot on the text where you want the drip to start from

b.) press and hold the Shift button on the keyboard; I don't know how many people know this but pressing Shift will help you make perfectly straight lines. It's how I've been doing those stripes for the football signatures up there.

c.) finally, click on where you want the drip to end. Of course you have to hold the Shift button for this work

As for placement, it's all just busy work. I used a text layer for each letter for the 'Peculiar' line and then just arranged them from there. Then it's all a matter of getting creative with it by fading some, setting a glow around others, etc.

I hope that all made sense. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. :monster:

Paramore sig is awesome. ♥

I already told you it looked like a dream-catcher, we went over that. I want one of those. xD I really liked the scribbled line under the text, was a nice touch. Scan lines. :ohshit: I've been using those awot, too.

Vertical sig looks way out there. I like it. :ryan: I wondered maybe if you moved the text like.. up... above the person's head, it might look a bit more in place... but to be honest, I actually like where it's placed.

I'm not too sure on the bright white though. xD

Love your work. :ryan:

:gonk:

Love the mysterious feel to the Flyleaf signature. I quite like the text too, and she looks smudged in really nice. :ryan: I think the only thing I can see as distracting, is the lightning in the right top corner. xD

Love how you did the smudging.

The Tu Amor siggy, holy crap. The shade you have going behind him. :gasp: If it were a pic of Hayley that'd have made for an awesome "Misguided Ghosts" feel. Love the text, lightning on his face seems a little sharp, but I love the effects around him. Very nice. :ryan:

Love it! Great work on the contrast of colors used, because I think it really brings out the stock. Love the negative space that you used, text I think is alright. I'm not very good with text so I'm not very good at how to critique on texts. I'm not sure if it's the lighting or if it was the stock but it does seem a little sharp around his face, but I didn't notice it at first until Colours pointed it out. All in all nice job!

Ohmygod! I love that sig!
xYjiD.png

Its stock is perfect, so simple and so beautiful. I love the placement of the font and the font used. The darkened bar in the background is a great touch, too. I love the shadowing in the four corners of the sig, as well.

And yes, I do believe in fairy tales. :ryan: I would have asked to use that sig if I had an icon to match and if you weren't usin' it. :mokken:

Anyways, great job on that sig. It's stunning.

Thanks so much! Glad you love the font. It's my own handwriting. :wacky:

EDIT: There no rule saying two people can't use the same signature. :ryan:
