Let's not forget that the rest of the party saw Cloud and Tifa together. She could be embarrassed about them knowing that she emotionally opened herself to Cloud, or she could be embarrassed that they saw her naked with Cloud. It's pretty ambiguous but I'm going to say it's the first one.

If you watch the scene, they have their clothes on when they wake up. Who has sex, dresses, and then falls asleep? I say they only snuggled.

I believe his post hinted at the fact that nothing happened.

So it's safe to say "If they didn't show it, mention it, or even hint hint HINT it, then it didn't happen."

How does this not add anything in response to the actual question, which was "What do you guys think? Did they or didn't they?"

Oh wait, it does. Just because he didn't give an extremely in-depth insight or clearly say yay or nay does not mean that he didn't add anything to the thread.

I don't think they did. Given that they took out the original context of what was supposed to be there (Cloud and Tifa coming out of a Chocobo stable) and replaced it with something a lot more subtle pretty much negates the whole thing. If you wanted to implicate the same meaning, then why take out that scene? If they're supposed to have sex it would have been a bit more obvious other than just snuggled on a rock (I hear those are so comfortable underneath an Airship, btw).

Re-read the interview. Nojima clearly states that the dialogue that is in the game is sex suggestive. All that is said is that the original scene needed to be "toned down."

And the reason it needed to be "toned down" should be obvious. The game is rated T. Not M. Essentially, the scene "coming out of chocobo stable" was far too implicative of sex, that Kitase decided to remove it.

Besides which, just because they wake up outside the Highwind, does not necessarily mean they had sex there.

I don't think that they had sex under the Highwind. It's just, not Cloud. Besides, they woke up in their clothes again, so...
I just think that they slept together, JUST SLEEPING, like ZzzzzzzZZzzzzz.
I don't know how to explain this, it just doesn't FEEL right. I mean like, Cloud and Tifa are shy people, Cloud is thinking about "ohhh my life is so sad buhu", and they're like on rocks.
I think Tifa was surprised over the eavesdropping because, well, don't forget how shy she is. She just takes all things much more serious than more confident people.

I think Tifa is only emotionally shy (i.e.- reluctant to open herself and share her feelings with others). She can be confident in battle, at the bar, etc. but when it comes down to personal conversations, she's not the same girl. Cloud's just not open...period. Look, here's why they wouldn't sex eachother then even if they did love each other.

1. Tifa's not a whore. I'm pretty sure the girl wouldn't screw someone on some dirty ground.

2. Cloud's not a dirtbag and wouldn't sex a girl one night, then want to meet another the next.

3. NEITHER of them have ever spoken about their supposed "Sex" night. If they sexed each other then, odds are they'd do it again. And they'd definitely be sharing the same bed let alone bedroom....which they aren't.

4. If something big like Cloud sleeping with Tifa was going to happen, SE wouldn't make the scene OPTIONAL. Them sleeping together would be a pretty big deal, does it make sense to have that big-deal of a scene optional? No.

5. Not to mention if we go by what you say, the high being that they did have sex and the low meaning that they didn't--well, there's no default scene so we're back at square 1.

Post it. Unless what Square says literally says this: Cloud and Tifa only talked that night. They didn't touch each other or have sex. All they did is talk, and nothing else.

And yes, they did watch.

Post where Barret & Cid say "We saw you two having sex." Rather, Tifa asks whether they saw/overheard them, to which they say nothing.

What's the convo about Cloud happier?

Easy.

When leaving the cockpit, Cloud has a conversation with Yuffie about her being "air-sick." At the end of that conversation, Yuffie comments that Cloud is being too nice. In parenthesis (the narrator, essentially) it says " "Yuffie is unaware that Cloud and Tifa had just spent the night together. Woman's intuition is as perceptive as ever, no?"

What I meant is, if Tifa and Cloud slept together then, wouldn't they atleast sleep in the same bed during CoT? Why does Tifa sleep with Marlene everynight if Cloud and her did it? Cloud was undergoing depression issues during that period.

But while on the subject of CoT, in that novella, when Tifa talks to Cloud while he's sleeping (asking him whether or not he loves her), there is nothing stated that she made any movement whatsoever, whether it be opening a door or moving across a room. The implication being, that they are sleeping together.

It was possibly the end of the world. If I were still a virgin, circumstances would not matter.

And as I said earlier, just because they awoke there, does not mean they had sex there.

There is no implication that he wants to meet that "other girl" in a romantic sense.

lol when would they speak about such an occassion? And for what reason? Let me guess: after being impaled by Sephiroth, Cloud starts saying "I remember that time I had sex with Tifa" or before the meteor is about to slam into the planet, completely destroying it, Cloud says "Hey Tifa, remember that time we had sex?"

Not to mention, "sex" is a private issue. I don't go around telling others openly about my sex life. Much less, someone like Cloud or Tifa (who are both rather...un-sociable)

Also, this is a TEEN game. And a PG-13 movie. Discussing "sex" over-steps that line.

It was hardly something "big." Sex is not that big of a deal. Nor is anything regarding Cloud's love interest(s) a major issue in FFVII's story. This love thing is merely a side-part of the story.

The main part is Cloud searching for himself and defeating Sephiroth (VII) and overcoming his depression (Advent Children) from being unable to save two people he loved dearly (Zack & Aerith).

The OP is whether or not they had sex. I definitely said they had sex in high, but they didn't in low.

Though I'd argue that high is canonical, since it is a major part in Ultimania (FF guidebook), whereas the low affection version is not mentioned at all.

In any case, I fear this arguement is going to eventually reach LTD. As such, I'm just going to stop. Later.
