I've been considering getting a PS3 for a while (currently have about $180 saved with a birthday coming up), and there are a lot of games out currently that I want to get. MAG, LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Motorstorm, and all of that good stuff. However, I'm curious to see if there are any games that I should be hyped for in the future. Obviously, there's Versus XIII, but I'm looking for something other than that.

I only want to hear about exclusives, by the way (unless the other system is a PC). I already have a 360, so any multi-platform games could just be bought on that. Also, don't say FFXIV. I don't like subscription MMOs.

God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, Final Fantasy 14, Force Unleashed 2, DC Universe Online, Twisted Metal PS3, Alien Vs Predator, etc

There are two main games that I am particularly looking forward to.

Heavy Rain (which is out at the end of this month) looks to be great, and worth looking into. It's a dark detective thriller and looks set to be one of the most interesting games of this year. It plays more like a movie than a game though, but the story of the game changes depending on the actions you take (you can catch the killer, or you can not), and any of the characters can die and the story will continue.

The other game I'll mention here that springs to mind is The Last Guardian. I'm not sure if you've played Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, but this game is essentially the third in the series and is centred on a boy who meets and befriends a strange dog-dragon-bird monster, and looks set to be yet another artistically stunning game with impressive gameplay elements focused on interaction with AI (in this case the creature). It seems to combine gameplay elements from both Ico (platforming'ish aspects) and Shadow of the Colossus (climbing giant monsters while they are moving, in this case the giant monster being the creature in the game).

I'm not sure when The Last Guardian is set to be released worldwide... It is set for a 2010 Japanese release, and I heard rumours that it may be released in March in Europe... But since March is pretty close now and I have heard nothing (and Japan doesn't even have it yet), this seems unlikely. However I can't imagine the release dates will be far apart between Japan and the rest of the world as the game series usually uses fictional languages, so there will only need to be subtitles (if that) and not a lot to change.

So those two are the main two that I'm excited about.

I totally forgot about The Last Guardian. I never actually played Ico or SotC, but I played the demo for SotC and loved it. Definitely going to check it out.

Also, there's gonna be a Twisted Metal PS3? I played the PSP version and loved it, so that should be great fun. However, will DC Universe Online be subscription based? I'm not willing to pay for a subscription, other than Xbox Live.

I do believe it's undecided at the moment. That was one of the games I was going to suggest myself. I wouldn't get it either if you had to subscripe in the first place.

Disgaea 3! if you aren't a Disgaea fan yet, now is the time. :) It's a strategy RPG with all the seriousness of exploding penguins. You'll love it if you love comedy.

Hm, I've never really played a Strategy RPG before. I may like it, but I'll probably try a flash game that's a Strategy RPG first to see how I feel about the genre.

Also, I love comedy. I think those penguin things actually make an appearance in the flash game "Punk-O-Matic" if you've ever played it.

I don't know what the release dates are in the US so I can only go on "future" UK dates :hmmm:

Heavy Rain is probably the front runner at the moment, I have yet to hear a bad word about it. If you like your games story driven then this is probably a game you want to pick up. Like Dan said, your actions change the course of the story continuously throughout the game - from beginning to end.

God of War III is out next month, although it depends entirely on what type of game you like, you may or may not be interested in the slightest. If you don't like Hack and Slashers or violent games, stay clear. But if you do then the God of War and God of War II were brilliant so I'd expect the same from this.

Then there's The Last Guardian which has already been mentioned. Pretty much nothing is know about it but if ICO and Shadow of the Colossus are anything to go by I'd definitely get it.
