Square’s been showing the first TV commercials for Final Fantasy XIII before it’s Japanese release in a couple of weeks on December 17.

The first one only mostly shows stuff from the recent trailer last week, while the second ad shows a teacher telling his class he will be taking a period of absence. Why? To play the game he has been waiting to play three years for.

Classic.

Teacher: "Though it is sudden, I will take a break tomorrow ."
Student: "Why will you take a break?"
Teacher: (I've waited for this time for three years)

I WANT!!! TOO SHINY AND BEAUTIFUL!!!

Personally I agree with the teacher!! Id bunk off to get the damn thing and lock myself up in my room with snacks and pop :D Oh yeah, good times ahead.

I actually know tons of kids who took off for school for the release of either Halo 3: ODST or Modern Warfare 2, and I'm sure a teacher or two did.

Also, why are the commercials so short? Are spots on TV too cluttered or something?

I remember a FFX trailer being about 22 seconds long or something ridic like that. I guess their schedules on TV are tight. Plus its kinda teasing fans for now. On and after release date, they may get a 50 second one. Cause then people would have purchased it.

I'd imagine that would be the reason, technology in Japan is massive as far as I'm aware, especially when it comes to gaming. So I'd think that there would be a huge amount of adverts that need advertising spots. All being said, I'd rather have a 15 second one that's good then a 2-3 minute one :wacky:

I'm personally not too fond of ads that are too long. If you're looking for something with more footage, just checkout the trailers, right?

And lol, I'm right there with the teacher. Luckily I should be done school by the time FFXIII comes over to the West, so I should be more or less good :awesome:
