The Hollywood Reporter brings news that Columbia Pictures is working on a film adaptation of PS3 action adventure Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Kyle Ward is to write the script. He's already adapted Kane & Lynch for Lionsgate, which Bruce Willis is slated to star in, and is working on a sequel to Fox's Hitman film.

Among the producers are former Marvel Entertainment bosses Avi and Ari Arad, whose production company announced it would adapt Capcom's Lost Planet at E3 last year. Game-to-film adaptations are a profitable niche right now, it seems.

Uncharted's Indiana Jones-style treasure-hunting derring-do and roguish lead Nathan Drake ought to work well on the big screen. In the meantime, developer Naughty Dog is prepping Uncharted 2 for release this year, and very impressive it looks to.
...
They better not fuck it up >.>

Wow, so wait, it's not been announce whoever is going to play Nate? I think I can see Bruce as a good Sully or something. And actually, I think this might work out pretty well, too. There were many times when I thought to myself while playing the game that it ought to be some kind of movie.

It could make a good movie so long as:

1 - They keep the humour of the game.

2 - The cast matches the characters in the game.

I'm a little bit worried about this as Uncharted is one of my favourite games for the PS3 at the moment and I was seriously hooked on it when I was playing it. The cutscenes, characters and story were all awesome.

The game sort of did double as an action movie to an extent as it was so I can see the transition could potentially be smooth... So long as they don't Hollywood it up TOO much.

Movies of games are generally shit.
The game did remind of the Movie National Treasure a bit, with all the treasure hunting.
Like Bun says, Bruce Willis had better be Sully.
It'll be nice to see Nazis at the movies though.

I think he said Bruce Willis was gonna star in Kane & Lynch, not Uncharted <.> So I don't think he'd be Sully....Bruce does not look like a good sully, at all. I, however, won't be getting this movie. Don't want to ruin my game, now do I? :grumpy:

why is it i cant really picture celebrity suited to play nathan drake, just none of them are badass enough, the movie prince of persia looks good, but it looks like it has little or nothing at all to do with the games, they better not fuck up this movie, considering im actually finishing up a movie i was writing, ill probably try to let some people see it,but, everybody has an idea for a videogame based movie,so,why start now,im going to pay 11 dollars to see something ive already played through, thats dumb on so many levels,if they screw this up,imma be pissed, but,i bet they get mark wahlberg to play nathan drake, seeing how he was decent in max payne

I'm calling the Grammer Nazis on you :grumpy:

I can see Mark Wahlberg kind of...? I dunno, they just couldn't be awesome enough to be Nathan.

And, holy shit? 11 dollars for a movie!? I doubt they'd be put in cinemas anyways. Most game movies seem to be too shitty to be put in there -_-

Oh, and for anyone reading this, don't watch Dragonball Evolution :grumpy: Wasn't worth the blank CD to bootleg it...just figured I'd throw that out there
