Ugh crappy title is crappy but its early so bugger off

This thought has just come to me really, got the new U2 cd on and Ellie has got up dancing saying this music is amaaazing (as 4 year olds do xD) she's the same with Muse aswel, so like, this leads me to beleive the kids gunna grow up with epic taste in music and Ive directly influenced this coz like, theres no shite played on MY radio

So does that mean we are all influenced by us partents, or will her evil friends get her into teeny bopper shite when she's in school? I know as I got older I got into hardcore (xD) and dance music - thats defo me mates, but I've pretty much grown out of that now D:

I know some of the stuff I like I got from me dad (10cc and other such stuff) The mothership WORSHIPPED Queen and 80's cheese, which I also like

I got into U2 myself, but maybe my dad influenced the KIND of musuic I liked...?

Im welll wafflign now.....but you get me...I hope :wacky:

I was the same when I was younger. I remember dancing along to the oldie music that my dad used to play on the Record Player. XD During school I pretty much followed my friends taste in music in order to look cool. XD

Then I went all dark and scary due to one friend in particular and got into the screamo, death metal music and freaked my parents out for a while.

But the last few years I feel I've settled into a nice place, and I enjoy a variety of music now. I don't rely on anyone else's taste in music but my own and enjoy about 95% of all music genres. XD

I was influenced for a while, but eventually I made up my own mind about what I liked.

I think people have their own seperate tastes, and our parents introduce us to music.
For instance when I was around four, my dad used to play Style Council a lot. My mum was more into Simply Red at the time, and when I was 8 she bought a George Michael best of album which could have had adverse effects on me if what you're saying is true:gasp:
Anyway when I was older, I could still remember the sounds of the songs, so it was a bit of deja vu.
But I still have very different tastes from either of my parents.

I think parents have a large influence on the type of music you like but I also think you develop taste as you get older, for instance, my dad is totally into the old rock bands like ACDC, Led Zeppelin and so on, and I like them, but at the same time I also like RnB stuff which my dad hates so it's a mixture of both parents and my own taste :gasp:

Apart from my mum, she listens to Country music which I hate apart from Taylor Swift who is the closest to country music that I like >.>

Well, I've loved Meat Loaf my entire life, simply because it was played alot when I was little and it's juist stuck with me, even his new stuff I like.

People seem to look at me weird when I say I like Meat Loaf and Tupac in the same sentance. :wacky:

I like abit of everything really though. Probably down to being around people with different music tastes alot.

I got into Eminem when he first released My Name Is and the Slim Shady LP. After that I started liking more rap. My brother was listening to the likes of Bon Jovi and Oasis so I got into those aswell. I think it's helped alot really, not just sticking with one genre as I write abit myself.
