A few days ago I got a few viruses on my laptop. Damn those shit are getting clever and I fell for it...-_-

But anyway, this morning I turned my laptop on and whenever I click on Firefox, the window would not open. I restarted three times now, but still it refuse to cooperate with me. I'm now using IE which works, and I tried downloading firefox, but once I hit Save, IE would crash. So now I'm kinda stuck. =/

Anyone have any suggestions?

Ummm hmmm weird my firefox works perfectly but sometimes it acts really gay and I use IE when im pissed. Well Mits is your laptop in good condition? Firefox is a feisty was is it? Well maybe its your laptop. Just try turning your laptop on and off. Good Luck. Try again or if it fails try somethin else.

System restore to before you got the virus?

Or, do you not have the installation file for FF still on the laptop, if you do, just uninstall then restart, reinstall.

I tried that, but when I click "Next" on the FF uninstall window, it will say "Firefox must be closed to proceed with that uninstall. Please close Firefox to continue."

And...Firefox IS closed because I can't get it to show up in the first place. =/ So I don't know what the deal is...

I even went to Start Task Manager just to make sure FF is not up hiding on me or whatever.

Try brining up the task manager (ctrl alt delete)

If it doesn't show up on "Applications" try the "Processes" tab. If you see FIREFOX.EXE, click on it, then "End Process"

Ok that seemed to work. xD

Firefox is now uninstalled...but I don't see the install thingy on Mozilla Firefox folder. All I see is components, defaults, extensions, plugins, readme.

IE still crashes whenever I try to download Firefox. Darn thing. =/

Try My Documents, if you kept the original installation file from when you first got it, it would be doubtful it would be in the FF folder.

Uploaded my installation file to my mediafire account, can try downloading it from there if it's not working from the Mozilla site: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jet0gmjnyz5

Oh sweet, it works now. xD I had to try a few times to get it to work though. Thanks so much, DLFlux. :) I guess maybe Vista was just being stubborn and wouldn't let me download in the Firefox site itself.

Just to add my two cents worth in.

System Restore always works for me. I always set the date back to about a month before the virus or problems start to screw up my computer.

It's always worked for me and should be the next option to try if the first method you're trying doesn't work.

Edit: It seems your problem was fixed as soon as I posted this. XD
