I have been seeing KH:COM at Gamestop and was wondering if its worth getting like is it fun and stuff or just repeative and has the same things as KH1 except Organization 13.So is it worth getting?

Personally, I think it is worth it. For one thing, and I don't know why a lot of people don't get this, it has a story that takes place after KH1 and sets up for KH2 (and 358/2 Days when it comes out), so it's not just a game to play; it's a compilation game to understand the KH story.

Don't you love how marketing makes you buy more stuff?

Gameplay wise, it's not like KH1. It's a card based battle system, so there's some strategy needed and taking number values into account, else you can screw yourself over.

It is repetitive in the sense that each floor you go through, you go through a world you went through in KH1, fight your way through and beat it's boss, that's pretty much it. There's one mini-game world you have to do, and of course the occasional bosses with the Organization to go through, as well as the more epic final boss battles.

For Riku's Reverse/Rebirth POV, you basically do the same thing you did as Sora, but there's less scenes within the worlds you visit, and his gameplay is a little different than Sora; mainly that you can't add/take out cards from Riku's deck and you're a bit restricted when deciding what stats of his you wanna level up.

And anyways, the story is interesting, the character's are pretty kewl, and the music is pretty good too.

So there you go :monster:

Do I think it's worth playing: Yes, but it's not a great game.

Do I think it's worth buying: Absolutely not. You're money is better spent on something like Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald :monster:

If you want to know the story, more than likely, there's some kind of fanfic or script compilation out there.

I've played the original CoM on my gameboy and I thought it was a pretty good handheld game.

The battle system is actually really fun and it's interesting to make your deck to suit how you fight.

Re:CoM does have the same storyline but it has voices and a 3D environment. I think it would be worth getting if you are a fan of the series but if you only thought it was meh then probably not.

Oh no, the gameplay is probably the worst thing about it. I lost count how often I was hit trying to reshuffle or restore my deck, whatever it was you had to do.

It was extremely tedious, and that alone made me just stop playing the game. The storyline I don't have an issue with.

Besides the having to reload, it was a great battle system. There was more skill involved and not just button mashing like in the others.

I don't have a problem with the storyline I was just stating that it's the same as the original CoM. I thought the storyline was really interesting.

It kinda didn't help though when you were constantly under pressure trying to figure out what cards to use next. If you could actually have some sort of waiting time in order to plan, it probably would have been a lot better.

So with the card thing is a bit like FF attack system a bit or something completely different because I seen some vids of the game and fights with the cards and it kind of confused me.

I won't lie, I was so "uwaa" at first with the card system, but you can counter a card as long as it's on the screen, so even if the boss uses a combo you can still cancel it with the 0 value card before it finishes.

And no, the card system in CoM isn't like those mini games you play in some of the FF games.

Normally, in KH1, pressing X lets you attack whatever the hell you want, but in CoM, you need an attack card to even attack. When you run out of cards, unless you reload, you won't be able to do anything but run around o_O

So you're gonna reload a lot of times during a single battle, and the more times you reload in battle, the longer it takes for the cards to some back during the battle. As you level up, you can level up your CP stats, which allows you to put more cards into your deck and thus decrease the over-all need to reload.

As well as attack cards, there are the magic cards to use spells like fire, summon cards to summon characters like Simba, and item cards like elixir that reloads your whole deck, including cards you lost during battle because of card breaks.

Card breaks are when the enemy counters a card you use on them, so when that happens, they won't return during batlte, even when you reload.

And this is where card values come in. Each card will be numbered from 0-9. 0 is a special card because while it's the lowest value, it can counter any number card, but it's only good after the enemy use their card, not before. Usually this useful when bosses use combos, so there's enough time for you to counter it.

So basically the higher value card will break the lower valued card. So you use a 5 value attack card and the enemy uses a 4 value card, it breaks that enemy's card and your attack is successful.

And also, there's more dialog in Re:CoM compared to CoM for the GBA :monster:

Hope that helped ^^

I don't think it is worth getting. It might seem fun at first (really its just addictive) but it gets really boring towards the end getting stuck after all the training maxing out your health and not getting new moves... when new cards just don't help you beat the final boss... Thats another thing CARDS? Reallly? A card system just is not right for KH. Stick with the old style. I just didn't like the game towards the end. Get the game if you want to be entertained for a while.

depends on your own opinion-

card system is really hard to master and you have to use those to execute commands and you can just see the whole game on youtube!

I myself have played and beaten KH: CoM for the GBA.. and I have the ermake for the PS2.. I really need to get off teh Wii for awhile

In my opinion, it was worth getting.

And another fun, if you have beaten CoM once, you'll play as Riku afterwards. Google it if you want. It adds fun and excitement. I think that the game's title will change, like Kingdom Hearts:Ressurection? NOt sure about it though.

Definitely Worth it

I just got the game 2 days ago and i love the battle system, actually is challenging and takes skill and timing to win boss battles. I just got done fighting one tough boss fight, took several trys but the winning attempt i was combining and countering like a pro, felt good obliterating that basterd! =D

Ehh...I say it's worth it, but there are multiple things that are of annoyance. The most critical is the card system-which i despised. If you can get it for cheap then yeah it's worth it but other than that money is better spent on other things.

I enjoyed it, and of course if bridges KH1 with KH2 so in that respect you should get it. There are some cool extras that you can unlock with are awesome, but i'll let you figure it out if you get the game. The battle system is really tactical and flexible as well as being easy to use imo. So overall: YES "geddit".

i'de say its worth it however if you want voice and in my opinion a little extra chalange i would go for re:com

It is definetly worth getting if you want to meet the rest of the organization members who died before kingdom hearts 2. Also, this game bridges KH1 and 2 together, if your confused in any way. Its a good game, but the battle system can be annoying as its a change from normal kingdom hearts gameplay. Its a cool game that you should play(ps2 version if you can) and playing this game will further you kingdom hearts knowledge. Also, you get to use a certain character i'm sure you were interested in in KH1 once you beat CoM^_^

I think, if you have a bit of spare cash, it couldn't hurt, getting it.

On the other hand, it's not necessary, the plot is easy to read up on any KH Wikia, and all the Re:CoM cutscenes are on Youtube somewhere anyway.

I loved the battle system, but it needed variation because it became very easy as soon as you sussed how to organise a deck effectively. And yes, the gameplay is quite repetitive.
