Does anyone have a favorite mission and mission you hate?

My favorite mission is the 'kidnapping president' mission, this mission is fun, follow up is the 'Garden Riot' near Edea's House, there's alot of excitement here.

The mission i dislike is 'fire cavern' mission, it's pretty boring. Another one is the mission where Balamb town seized by Galbadian, this mission really sucks, going here and there looking for Raijin.

Its kinda hard to say because you dont really do that many missions before the assasination attempt. The Timber one i found quite boring, i didnt enjoy derailing the carts and avoiding the gaurds. Like you said looking for Raijin in Balamb was an absolute PAIN, took me forever to find him when i first played through the game. I guess my favourite would be the assasination of the sorceress, i liked going to the tomb of the unknown king and working your way through to the sewers to get to Rinoa (which is ridiculous though, i mean why would she not just apologise later?) I wouldnt say the fire cavern was boring though, i mean it was over in 10 minutes.

I don't find a specific mission boring...i do however find every mission that involves saving Rinoa annoying and therefore those are the missions that i most despise, unfortunately she just won't die although i try.

My favourite is the Dollet mission, the music playing in the background, the fmv sequences, and you just running through a town killing G-Soldiers, why the mission itself screams of awesome.

Also it's the mission where you get most AP in the game if you play your cards the right way that is.

I really enjoyed The mission in Dollet and the assassination of the sorceress. Oh and that part where you had to unhook the train or something to get to the president (it's been a while so I can't remember it all that well but I do remember enjoying it.).

The fire cavern was my least favourite mission. It wasn't very interesting in comparison to the other missions, even when Quistis was explaining what I would be doing there, I just thought to myself "this is probably going to be boring". But it was only supposed to be a testing ground or something wasn't it?

My favorite would have to be the assassination of the sorceress. I enjoyed getting to play as both Squall's team and Quistis's team, as well as controlling Rinoa at one point. Besides that, I love the suspense the mission had. Seifer's suprise return was cool as well.

My least favorite though would have to be the mission to the missile base. There's nothing bad about it really, it just isn't as fun and exciting to me as some of the other missions offered in the game.

I think that the Assassination of the Sorceress mission was the best one. It's where the game really started because after that you were on your own basically.
I don't really have a least favourite mission although the one where you have to find Raijin in Balamb is a pain in the arse.

I really didn't enjoy the missions I had to do in this game especially the missile launch mission with Selphie. I just can't stand Selphie one bit, she is too cheery and annoying. I think the only mission I got an enjoyment out of doing is when Balamb fight Galbadia head on and all hell broke out between both parties.

The battle between Balamb and Galbadia after the Garden's collide was nothing short of spectacular. That entire segment of the game was simply epic.

Timber, on the other hand... I know the entire reason for going there at all was to further the character developement for Selphie, but I was just bored the entire time. Until they finally got to something important and did the flashbacks that had nothing to do with Timber Garden at all.

See i was thinking of the balamb vs galbadia garden fight but i wasnt sure if i could class it as a mission. Anyhoo gotta be said that, that is by far the best moment in the game, so exciting when you've gotta dish out orders and fight your way through to galbadia garden.

I quite liked the Fire Cavern mission! Think it was because I got FF VIII as a christmas present and I was playing it on christmas day. Also it was the first proper RPG I played ( I mean i played on this game called BlackSilver on the Commadore 64!)

Anyway so I think with the emotional festivities I was just itching to get going and winning my first GF felt good! ^_^

Worst mission would be timber, First time out i was wandering around for ages. Or trying to
find Ellone on the Seed ship on disc 3
That took ages to find and i was just bombing about for ages looking for it!

I really hated that kidnapping the president mission. It was just plain boring, sitting through the mission briefing fr the millionth time gets old fast, on the other hand though, the first time I played it I found it really exciting and I enjoyed it. So I gues that one is both for me. It's just....sitting through all that talking when yuo have been through it a million times before...... and inputting those codes on the train becomes a chore aswel....

Oh, I rather enjoyed the Dollet mission aswel, I just didn't like that STUPID ATM097 or whatever it was called chasing me. Other than that, yeah, I still enjoy doing that one

I totally forgot about the dollet mission, that was a good one. The ATM0997 was a complete pain especially seeing as there was a time limit (although it was more than enough time) I always wanted to stay and try and beat the damn machine but i was scared i ran out of time. I was always made sure i shooed the dog away, i didnt wanna see the wee guy get trampled. On that mission you get to control Seifer for the only time in the game, that i enjoyed.

The Dollet mission was okay but I didn't like the fact I was being graded on how I did things prior to the mission like trying not to escape from battles, cutting through parts of the town, and etc. Although I did liked the music that was used when escaping Dollet and the FMV scene was great. My only question I want to know is why did they use Rinoa in the FFVIII demo for the Dollet mission and not Selphie? Was it to promote the game because Rinoa is the main female lead?

Most probabaly, I guess they didn't want people thinking Selphie was the main female.

Haha yeah every time I play the game I always hope that Squall wont save Rinoa in space and that the game will continue on...but of course my wishes never come true.

I found the whole "Garden Master" mission a tad boring, mainly because the assistants or whatever they're called always send out the crappiest monsters to attack you (except for T-Rexaur and those dragon things).
My favourite one would be...the whole space thing, although I hate the fact the I have to save Rinoa yet again, I still love it.

Omg, that is officiallymy most haed mission, I HATED getting back to garden and everyone running riot 'ONE OF CIDS FOLLOWERES!? dIIIIIE' Going round every room looking for stup[id Cid when the logical thing would be to check his room FIRST tries my patience everytime. I hate doing that, my heart sinks when I know it's coming up. so yeah, thats far worse than the Kidnap the president mission >_>

So wait what counts as a mission here? I mean the fight between Balamb and Galbadia Gardens is just part of the plot, I wouldn't call it a mission. Same with finding Raijin in Balamb -- it just happens.

For me best was Dollet, by a mile. The music, the wealth of scripted battles, it was the most rounded one of the lot.
Worst is the sewer bit of the assassination mission. Those fights got so damn repetitive. :/

Oh yes, seconded. I hate that part of the game, the first time I played it I got lost hopelessly there. Ugh, just total boredom.

I do like the assasin mission though, just not the sewer part..

Urgh! I know it's the worst and you can't go any where if you say you're on Norg's (or whatever his name was) side either.

I also hate the part on the start of Disk 2 where you have to escape from the prison it's just so boring running up all those stairs and then going back down and then up again :brooding: it made me go insane.

I agree. I always thought "why the hell can't you jump down to the next level, it's a game, you could make it so that there was a lift or something, or that you didn't have to die when jumping downwards..."
