I want this topic to be unique and different from the other Black Mages thread. This thread should be to discuss what FF songs (and why) should be remixed by the Black Mages.

I'm going to start with the Cosmo Canyon theme song. I think that song would be absolutely epic if remixed by the Black Mages. It already has a strong rock beat and just sounds fantastic. If they put it to rock music, in a way only Nobuo Uematsu could, it would be amazing, I think.

What are your opinions?

I also agree with that. Cosmo Canyon is one of my favourite FF themes, and I can imagine some beautiful music done by TBM for Cosmo Canyon.

I was thinking it would be great to hear a guitar solo carrying the main tune half way through, and then the beat joining in again after. Could be quite emotional (TBM really do put a lot of emotion into their guitar, it isn't just scratching and yanking, you really can feel the emotion, eg Dancing Mad solo and Distant Worlds solo).

What else do I think they should do?
"You're not alone!" is a must. Sucha great and emotional tune, and to hear it being pulled off by the Black Mages, and remixed a little would be fantastic.

"Dark Messenger" - Again, such a fantastic tune, and is already rocky in itself. They've done other Final Boss musics brilliantly, and this one, in my opinion, come be among the greatest boss battle tunes ever. Just a great starting beat, followed by a kick ass rock theme.

What I've always wanted to hear though is the main Final Fantasy theme. I think it would be someone iconic if they did that. Having them all playing that tune with all their awesome power put behind it would be a sight to see. Perhaps with Mr. Goo vocals and everything! :P
 
"Hurry Faster!" from FFVII would be incredible! I already enjoy playing along to it on guitar, but with their own touch, The Black Mages could make it something special! :D

This would be a even greater theme if hasn't on the purpose of being-- "sad".

Best ever chocobo theme, it their rock magic they would turn the song epic. (reminds me of the snowboard mini-game)
 
Three more to add:

Besaid Island (FFX) - This was always a very neat song and always very relaxing. The nice beat could really lend itself to a good rock song. I'm not sure how true a remix would be to the source material... but I'm sure they can handle it.

Jesters of the Moon (FFIX) - Love this song. They could really have fun with this one, especially if they got into the piano.

The Returners (FFVI) - This is a good song that's always been a bit dry. I could really see them spicing it up.
