New System Video

A new system video has been uploaded onto the official Dissidia website.

http://www.square-enix.co.jp/dissidia/ - Find it here, and under "System", then scroll up to the flashing "New" one.

It shows the board game style select screen, and it seems that "normal" battles with normal enemies of some kind do exist in this game :O. Warrior of Light is seen here fighting a knight of some sort, which he encountered on the board on the way to tying to move to Garland.

Also... Of significant note is the music! It seems that each game will have is own board, with the world map or main theme music from each game being the background soundtrack for the board menu.

Looking pretty good.

EDIT - On closer inspection it seems the other thing Warrior of Light is fighting is actually a crystaline form of Warrior of Light. So I don't know what to expect from this, or what it means. Hopefully translations and such will seep into the wikia pages soon enough.

Square Enix has released a new video showing the story mode of Dissidia: Final Fantasy for the PSP, which is scheduled for December 18 in Japan.

Source: Gamekyo.

Well the warrior of lights is fighting garland right? What knight are your talking about really? Is it Garland? So will an xii character get revealed?

The player is fighting Garland, I don't understand what is so complicated about that.

That aside, I am a little dissapointed in the gameplay, which makes the dissidia look a tad boring as the fights seem to end in seconds and most of the playtime was spent on the gameboard.

I wouldn't worry about that. It wasn't in real time. They cut large parts of it out so to fit on the video and give us a taste (e.g the second battle with crystaline Warrior of Light or whatever wasn't seen, and most of the first battle was cut out, as well as most of the wandering across the board AND nearly all of the fight with Garland).

We know real battles last longer as we've seen other videos dedicated to gameplay. This video was more of a taste of the system and how things would work, not really a battle video.
