Can we do away with sig space restrictions?

If not then can we please have more space? I honestly don't think that 10 lines is enough.

One thing I don't get about this is I can't have a sig pic and a quote in my sig at the same time, it tells me I've gone over the limit. Then there's some people who have had uber amounts of stuff in their sigs. What's up with that?

I wouldn't mind a bit more but I can understand all of the bandwith troubles and scrolling nonsense. Although we could always grant more space to seniors and veterans, etc. Surely we'd be trustworthy enough? :wacky:

I think the folk with ridiculous numbers of pictures have that because they've not changed their sigs since the times when signatures were less restricted.

Seconded, because it gets annoying at times. I can see why it'd be restricted for people with a low bandwidth and such, which is fair enough. But there's plenty of people (named removed) with fucking massive ones that there's just no need for.

Admin edit: Let's try and avoid naming names in the future so as to avoid people becoming offended, hurt or upset. Thank you.

Not that I've bothered to have one atm, but bigger sig space would be jiffy! I got well annoyied I could have everything I wanted in my sig a while back and it was only abit more than the current space given.

lol

I thought the restrictions were based on rank and member status. In other words, veteran members and/or moderators get significantly larger amounts of sig space.

EDIT: Moderators get significantly larger amounts of sig space.

At least, that's what I gathered from my time in staff. :(
Unless it's changed.

Is a member of staff not going to dignify this with a response?

I think allowing Veteran and Senior members to have more sig space is a decent idea, they're more likely to not abuse it, right?

I don't see why Veteran/Senior members can't be allowed to have unlimited sig space, newbies would go silly with it, but senior/veteran members who know how the forum works wouldn't abuse it.

I don't see why Veteran and Senior members couldn't be allowed extra sig space. However, this will have to be discussed with the other admins before a final decision is made. I can't speak for Angelus, etc... Keep an eye on this thread. We'll post a decision as soon as one is reached.

I'm fine with the restrictions, the only times I've found them annoying is when there's a couple particularly long quotes I want to put in my sig. Plus I think it looks tacky when people have a ton of stuff in their sigs and you have to scroll half a page just to get to the next post. But I don't see why it can't be expanded for senior and veteran members, it's reasonable enough.

As an aside, you're already taking up six lines in your sig, so anything terribly long is going to push you over the limit. It has messed up on me a couple times though and will say I have more than ten lines when I don't, so perhaps it's doing that to you.

Yes, thank you.
