I didn't know he was sterile...

I did know that he didn't impregnate anyone though, one obvious advantage of this is the fact that Solid Snake, Solidus Snake, and Liquid Snake could have been geneticaly altered to become the perfect soldiers.

Then when he was 50 they decided it would be a good idea to clone him (thus why they age faster, they start off having 50 year old DNA...that's their explanation, anyway...I don't see how it could affect things that much since DNA itself can last thousands of years). And somehow they managed to give Liquid all the recessive genes, Solid all the dominant, and make Solidus a normal blend.

I am definitely a fan of the Metal Gear Solid series, it's probably my second favourite franchise for the Playstation consoles, only surpassed by Final Fantasy.

My favourite Metal Gear Solid game would be MGS1, I enjoyed sneaking around, going up to soldiers and snapping their necks.

I like torturing guards in MGS2 the best. I'll hold 'em up at gunpoint, make them shake off their dog tags, shoot one arm so it hangs down limp and they start shaking in fear...then shoot the other arm...then shoot them in the head. Or I'll just shoot them in the crotch and watch them double over in a pool of blood. I'm quite the sadistic cunt

I personally, would like a remake of the 2 original Metal Gears, in Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land. The Gray Fox battle would be more epic then.

That's what Id like to see too, but I think they'll concentrate on the new protagonist after Solid Snake for the next game(s)... Young Snake, I think?

Young Snake as a protagonist? Perhaps the main character will be either Olga's child or Raiden's child. Either way, the main character will most probably be a blond.

I'm pretty hyped about this game to be honest so I'm glad it got an amazing review although I'll probably miss out on a lot because of not playing a few other MGS titles =/

That wouldn't surprise me really. I kinda wish you could play as Raiden though :/

I'm pretty hyped about this game to be honest so I'm glad it got an amazing review although I'll probably miss out on a lot because of not playing a few other MGS titles =/

I'm not at all surprised it got a good review, Metal Gear games have always been quality games. As for missing out or w/e, if you feel you need a recap or don't have enough knowledge of the series, I recommend this site or the Metal Gear wiki.

Oh, I downloaded the MGS4 soundtrack yesterday. The previous MGS games always had good OSTs, but this one...I know the word epic is overused, but it's seriously the best word to describe it. They pulled out all the stops on this one, it's fantastic.

Men! The 'Love Theme' it's amazing; i don't know if it's allowed to post such things here, but anyone who likes previous MGS soundtracks or song, should indeed hear this ones.

Yeah, that sounds pretty good, though what I really like is the Alert music in MGS2, gotta love those drums!

Also that Battle in the base music in MGS3 is really good too, I really like quite a bit of the music in the Metal Gear Solid games.

Men! The 'Love Theme' it's amazing; i don't know if it's allowed to post such things here, but anyone who likes previous MGS soundtracks or song, should indeed hear this ones.

They're beautiful.

Meh, I think it's allowed, I dunno. But yes, the Love Theme is fantastic. And BB Corps gave me chills when I first listened to it, that song is fucking creepy O_O The soundtrack is on Play Asia for $28 if anyone feels like acquiring it early, but it also comes with the limited edition of MGS4 so I'd just wait for that (or just, you know, find it through less-than-legal means).

Btw, does anyone know how long the MGS4 bundle will be in production? Not the crappy $600 40GB model, but the good $500 80GB one. I'd really prefer not to have to camp outside a store, so I hope they don't make it too awful limited.

Camping is your best bet. When they sold online they sold in something of like 30mins. On the 12th they will be selling even less and Best Buy is already talking about setting up their camping dates, expect em all to be gone within the hour.

TBH, I'm a little disapointed with the IGN review. Namely because .1!?!?! Just .1 away from a perfect score? Most other places have given it perfect and that .1 doesn't make since to me. Because the it got that minus because of the lasting appeal and yet in the lasting appeal section they rave about how great the replay value is...and they don't even mention online, that itself is greatness.

That was complete bullshit. They gave lasting appeal a 9.5 because the cutscenes were long. Um, Metal Gear fans sort of EXPECT that and ENJOY it...so obviously we're not going to mind sitting through long cutscenes. If anything, the long epic cutscenes in Metal Gear make it worth replaying. But making it .1 off is just plain retarded, it's almost as if someone didn't allow them to give it a 10.

Honestly...that wouldn't surprise me. Not as many people out there might like MGS since it's not quite as accessible as GTA. And I've seen so many videos on GameTrailers showing off different bugs in GTA4, it's hilarious

Um, hate to ask this again, but you sure I'll have to camp out for the 80GB model? I was under the impression that only the 40GB "gun metal" model would be limited, and that the 80GB model would be in production longer...I can't find any sites that confirm or disprove that though

That would be crap to be honest, the MGS series from what I've played has always been better than GTA, after playing half way through GTA I'm not even that bothered about it anymore, it's not a 10/10 game by any means.

It's the first time I've ever seen IGN take away .1 because of that. =/
It's not as if they cutsenes are boring, they're action packed and enjoyable to watch...and I've sat through some pretty long and crappy (none skippable cutscenes) that has never how the 'Lasting Appeal' because of that...heck they downgrade it but still say that 'The action sequences are faultless.'

I'm not sure tbh. I can only hope I guess. I don't see any reason not to keep it in production with how good the sales have been on them so far. Really has been helping Sony out greatly.

And yeah, GTA is ridiculous. There is a bug in the game right now, where after putting in 40 hours I can no longer go on with the game. After reading up on it most have said that they had to restart the game all over again...totally not worth it and I'm done with the game now. Glad I got a free rental on it or else I'd be demanding my money back. Besides, 1/3 copies of GTA have known to cause problems and destroy your ps3's blue ray drive. Although MGS isn't even out yet, I know it deserves a better score then a game that kills your PS3.
